Hello, I have updated to Cyanogenmod 7.1.0. (stable version) and installed gapps on my phone (HTC Legend, rooted) but after that android market didn't work. So I decided to reinstall gapps with recovery thing (vol. down + power button) and after that some strange artefacts started over phone's screen. So, when I power up phone it behaves normally but I can't access my SD card (goldcard) and in settings > storage > is says that "total space" and "available space" are unavailable and I can't press mount SD. When i try to mount my phone via USB cable on pc, only USB debugging pops up and i can't mount my internal or SD card storage. After some time even USB debugger is stopping to work.
I tried to factory reset it but it didn't help. When I plug in my phone i get errors like "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" or "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". Also, when i shut down my legend and power up it , the first "htc" white screen keeps blinking untill i plug usb cable and then i can normally enter in ROM.
Can you please help me with my problem or do you think that my phone became a brick?

I have the Samsung drivers installed on my PC (Win XP). When I connect the phone with a USB cable I see two drives - presumably the main memory and the SD card. But when I click on either of them I get a message: "Please Insert Disk in Drive X"
What do I need to do to be able to actually see the content?
If I insert the SD card in a regular card reader I can read and write it.
I tried setting the USB connection to "Development" and to regular storage. Makes no difference.
Please Help
When you plug the phone into the computer, open your notifications bar at the top of the phone. You should see an option that says, 'USB connected / Select to copy files to/from your computer.' Select this option, and click mount. After a few moments, the drive letters that you said were not functioning on your computer, will work successfully.
Thanks for the reply. It helped a lot. The procedure that worked for me is:
1. Set the USB mode on the phone to "Mass Storage"
2. Plug in the USB cable and connect to computer.
3. After the "Connected to USB message appears press the Menu button. Chose Notifications and than click on the USB Connected message.
I'm having an odd problem... anyone watching this forum knows that I just rooted and flashed a new rom not more than an hr ago.
Obviously I put the roms on via USB mount when it was running the shipped rom, but now after plugging in the usb from the same computer after I select "Turn on USB storage" and select "OK" the android turns orage for about a second and the goes back to green, then the notifications pops up reading "Preparing SD card".
Any ideas?
nvm, tested on another computer, totally the android sdk adb driver getting in the way.
So I skipped the create back up step when installing CM7 (oh boy)then one thing led to another and I'm stuck at the Motorolla Screen. No worries, I go into AndroidRecovery and plug in my phone via USB ready to upload a new ROM only to find that on My Computer I see Removable Disk (E and Removable Disk (G BOTH of which present with a "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk (X." error. I can't do anything! I have no MicroSD Card. From the Mounts and Storage Menu I checked the "mount /internal" but it did nothing and the "mount USB storage" only presented with "E: Unable to write to ums lunfile (No such file or directory)! I've plugged it into three different computers with the same result, all detect the phone but cannot do anything to the internal memory. What are my options? Fastboot?
you can try an adb push or use fastboot to flash a fruitcake
I'm running AOKP build 35 and I have a new and exciting problem with my vibrant. Upon every boot, my internal sd is mounted as "USB Storage." If I plug a usb cable in, sometimes nothing happens, sometimes it displays "disconnect usb" or similar. I've rebooted with usb cable in, usb cable out, nothing. Selecting "disconnect usb storage" does nothing. I can't seem to get it to work!
I tried a recent AOKP. I don't use an sdcard, and it would not use the internal sdcard, so no taking pictures, downloading, etc. I even tried mount -bind and symlink tricks, then went back to CM7 for the time being.
Didn't have any problems with CM9 or ICSSGS.
Just now i connected my android phone(ICS 4.0.4) with my pc and the "USB Connected Turn on USB Storage" notification pops up. But on pressing the "Turn on USB Storage" the cirlce below it just keeps on circling and doesnot opens my sdcard in my pc as earlier it used to do.
I removed the battery, sdcard and placed them again hoping it might help but it was of no use.Any help why this is happening. Thanks in advance!!!!
Solved the problem
Hi there!
I solved the problem of "Turn on USB Storage". There are some apps which stop the USB Storage to mount on your machine.I deleted some of them and then i rechecked by pressing on "Turn on USB Storage" and VOILA !!! This time the sdcard gets mount on by system. So if any of u facing this problem try to delete some apps(preferably superuser grant apps) which you doubt and then check again your Turn on USB Storage.it would work.
This was my first question on xda which i myself answering.LOL! Enjoy GUys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:good:

see, this is EXACTLY the same issue as mine, only that i'd got it on JB, not ics.
this problem's originated from a process involving the sd card which ain't gonna permit the sd card even to be unmounted, that's why the USB Storage pop-up neither could do it. u have to investigate so thatchu could find out what's causing so. mine was becuz of swap memory i'd created using kernel tuner n it was activated by that time. firstly, de-activate it if u've got, n then re-activate when u were done with the mass storage deed u wanted to do with yo pc. and if u haven't, then check to see which process the phone is doing that needs and involves the sd card
