Hi guys,
Any idea why gmail and google calendar, when I enter something through the computer, it syncs to the phone, but it wont sync the other way around (when I add a new contact to the phone and put it in my custom group)?
Thanks!
I may have finally found the setting. In contacts -> settings button -> more -> settings -> "Save new contacts to" -> Google

The problem is, mine won't show those settings. After notification ringtone, it says other settings and its cut off from there.
On my previous galaxy s+ , I had connected my facebook contacts and their facebook photos with the contacts I had on the phone. So next to each contact there was a photo from facebook. How can I do this on sxs??? Thanks in advance.
You have to sync your contacts with facebook.. to do that do the following:
1.) In Facebook App go to Settings and at the bottom you can choose to sync with all facebook friends, existing contacts or none, choose existing contacts.
2.) Now you have to go to Settings > Account & Syncronization and create a new Facebook in Xperia Account. Now put on Auto-Sync and go into the Facebook inside Xperia account, there you have to tick the boxes away you don't want to use.

Nope. Nothing. There aren't any photos next to my contacts. Have you done it?
I have a work phone and a personal phone. The work phone is registered with my work gmail email address and my personal phone with my personal gmail address. I would like to share my personal Google Contacts with both work and personal phone. Can someone advise me how to configure my Android phone v 4.0.4 to accomplish it.
Once I set up, can I edit the existing contacts and add any new contact on my any phone and automatically update the Google Contacts. I want to make Google Contacts as a central address book. Thanks!
I haven't tried this myself, but I believe you can add your personal Google account to your work phone (so two google accounts in your work phone). On your work phone, go to Settings -> Accounts & sync -> Add Account -> Google -> Existing -> put your personal gmail account.
If that works, then you should be able to access both personal and work contacts on your work phone. If you modify contacts on your personal account from work phone, the change will automatically sync with your personal phone as well.
Give that a go, and I hope that helps :fingers-crossed:
I have all of my contacts stored in gmail contacts online.
In the course of trying to tidy up contacts on my phone, deleting duplicate/unnecessary info and 'joining' multiple accounts (mostly gmail, facebook and whatsapp) I had a bit of a Homer Simpson moment managed to delete all of my contacts (D'Oh!!).
Fortunately, as I said above I have them in gmail contacts online and had also exported them to my SD card as a vcard and so have managed to get them back (albeit having to tidy them up again).
Here's the thing though, when I go to the Contacts menu item 'Contacts to display' the contacts show when All Contacts or Gmail account are selected, but when I select Phone contacts in 'Contacts to display' the list is empty.
How do I move/copy my gmail contacts so that they are held in the actual phone memory and displayed if I opt to display Phone contacts only (i.e. no longer link to my gmail contacts)?
Cheers in advance,
Rich
I think what you need to is to sync your contact again. Contact to display is only show if your phone have a contact that is available in your gmail contact only.
copy contacts to phone only

I think you've misunderstood my original question. I have got the contacts visible when I view all contacts or view gmail contacts, but there is an option in the contacts menu to view contacts on phone only (i.e. not those stored in gmail contacts). When I use that option I don't see any of my contacts. Therefore, what I need to be able to do is copy the contacts across from gmail contacts so they are visible in the phone contacts only view, but I can't figure out how to copy them across to the phone.
Never had to do it on either my s2 or s3 before. I did do it on my old HTC via a menu option along the lines of 'Copy contacts to phone' but there isn't a menu option like that on the s3 unless I'm missing something obvious.
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers.
hello. please, after update to nougat my h850, if i delete a mail or open a mail, even after many hour, doesn't refresh and in pc browser i found again the same mail and i have to delete again. what can i do for this?
thanks
Try and remove the account in the settings app:
Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> Google
Select the account and click the three dots in the top right hand corner and select remove account.
After doing this go back to the account settings and re-add the account.
