Can clockworkmod recovery backup wimax RSA keys on the 3D? I've been using Amon recovery on my 4g and have no experience with clockworkmod. Thanks!
Yes it should to my understanding.

Yes you can back up your wimax keys, flash team wins recovery its kinda like RA but it has more options. It's a really nice recovery ! I had RA for my evo 4g and now i have team wins for the 3d ..
CW does back up ur Wimax as does TWRP, however, CW backs them up every time whereas with TWRP you can choose to back them up or not.

Have you guys found the teamwins recovery to be reliable? I'd like to have it be as similar to amon as possible since I'm used to that.
Thanks.

Twrp has not failed me once in probably over 2 flashes a day with backups and restores since we had s-off. It does integrity checks with md5. I actually think it is more capable then amon. I love the reboot when flashed option when you finished a flash.

I didn't see where The Express team said to use amon ra. Just issues with fastboot 1.50 and TWRP 2.0+. Those guys know that amon ra is not available for EVO 3D. I've not tried The Express, but I've had no issues with TWRP 1.1.1 that is available on the adroidfilehost site with Virus' roms.
Thank you. I put the Rom on my girls 4g. Guess I shouldn't have assumed the case was the same for the 3d... Thanks

I have the recovery as twrp 1.0.3 but i cant install anything. it'll say trying to install and then it wont have any messages and it goes back to the main home screen. Any help?
(Also what ROMs, Mods, and Kernels work with 2.17?)

You want speed and don't care for excellent battery life try any overclocked kernel and rom.. It really boils down to what you want and prefer...

I can't find TWRP version 2.0.1. I found TWRP 1.1.1 and flashed it and the problem is that any zip i flash won't last. For example, I just tried flashing the EVO 3D Google Talk w/Voice and Video.zip and i did not work.

then most likely your recovery is not working properly... if youre rooted and unlocked then your given permissions to write to the boot partition and the recovery is given permission to write to the system and data partitions... try using CWM 4.0.1.4 for the evo 3d or also known as the shooter....

Converting backups will only be possible with 4EXT if the old ones are based on CWM recovery.
As for you, that will be the way, go back using twrp, then make one using 4EXT

I used to keep old nandroids like you, then i....... deleted them
I found that keeping all my backups took up too much memory, I keep only the original wimax.img and the most recent backup now
There's a lot of recoveries now what is the best recovery? I just switched to the new cwm 6.0.. something by flyleaf. What do you guys think?

As we say in the south (born and raised in 'Bama), "gotta go with what brung ya"
Amon Ra
1. Progressed to the point of being bug free
2. Solid recovery, plenty of options and robust featureset that some recoveries do not have.
3. Allows me to flash VR theme packages, which TWRP will not.
4. No charging issues
ClockWork has always left a bad taste in my mouth; first from the bricking of the Eris, then to the non-charging recovery issue (which has been rectified by flyhalf, I know), I just can't use another ClockWork recovery.

Is twrp stable?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
I have been using TWRP since spring, first Con's port, and then Flyhalf's build.
Both versions are totally stable, and TWRP has some nice features that AR lacks, like a file browser/editor, the ability to easily name and rename backups, and, of course, touch screen use.
Also, it has been reported that Flyhalf's TWRP is able to flash VR themes, unlike Con's port.
I may try Flyhalf's CWM, but probably only when/if it works to flash from the SD and v6 is working properly.
newest twrp is cool but for performance reasons most roms recommend amon ra
I second amon ra. It is basic in its features but it seems to be the fastest in terms of backing up.
+1 amonRa never had a problem. And the idea of a "touch" recoveryjust sounds bad. Personally. Ans we all know not to use CWM

I was using TWRP, but noticed lots of developers tested theirs with Amon Ra. So, when I S-off mine (about 3 weeks ago) and installed Amon Ra and honestly, I like it better.
Amon Ra is boss. Normally I use CWM, but it's borked for the Rezzy. Amon Ra is simple, feature packed, and clean
Twrp for the simple fact I love the touch UI, the features, and well just everything about it

amon ra is compatible to everything so until you can flash everything with twrp aka vr themes it won't beat amon ra.
I've always been hardcore serious about only using amon ra. I've remotely set up about a hundred rezounds, and probably 95 percent of the people who I worked with got a lecture from me about not changing recoveries.
People who had used clockwork mod on other phones tended to want to change immidiately and it just wasn't solid and stable like amon.
That being said, the only problem with with amon ra recovery is that for a lot of people, the recovery doesn't allow the user to see the internal sd card or flash from it.
Flyhalf has recently posted TWRP built from source for our device. It's top notch work in my opinion.
I'm currently running TWRP, because it allows me to flash from the internal SD card.
Suite tools is being implemented in more and more roms, and it stores data on the internal sdcard and automatically reboots to recovery. With TWRP this works, with amon ra you had to tell suite tools to download and install the app, then say no to the confirmation before it rebooted, use root explorer to browse to the suite tools data on the internal sd card, copy it over to the external sdcard and then go to recovery and manually flash it.
It depends on your needs, with TWRP, some of the kernel installers like Joel's have an automatic reboot to bootloader in the script. The auto feature is for anon ra, TWRP works just as good, you just have to reboot to hboot yourself after flashing the kernel zip in recovery.
Amon ra has the issue for some users which prevents flashing from internal, but it always works besides that.

and someone has said vr themes install under 2.2.2.1 of TWRP. They haven't said anything about v2.3.
But is use CWM6. I just a fan since the good DINC days.
No one should be using cwm. It sucks and who cares if it works now it's is far less superior to amon ra. I remember von hated it so much that he was going to make a script that wouldn't let you flash something if you had cwm haha
But seriously amon ra. You should be using what works. It's a recovery for gods sake. Your in there for maybe 10 min max so who cares what it looks like.

Just to make it clear, FlyHalf's CWM does not have the charging issue of the original release, and his TWRP is able to flash VR Themes.
I use TWRP, with which I have had no problems at all. With me, it wipes and installs significantly faster that AR did, and I think it backs up and restores faster too, but I am not sure. The main reasons I prefer it to AR are the keyboard and ability to name backups and the file manager.
i see that Amon Ra is getting its well deserved love. Anything but clockwork. I even like stock better...
TWRP is the most feature-rich, advanced recovery for the Rezound.

That's your personal opinion. Amon Ra is perfect. Twrp has issues flashing some things and requires devs to work more to fix errors for these users. It would be 1000x easier if everyone used amon ra.
Basically, use either Amon-Ra (v3.15 or higher) or TWRP (Flyhalfs version)
I've never come across anything I couldn't flash with either one, they both backup and restore just fine most of the time (had one bad backup with AR)
I do lean towards TWRP simply for the ease of use offered by a touchscreen, the ability to name backups, and the file manager which saved my butt once when I was messing with stuff I really shouldn't have and didn't have a computer anywhere near me.
