if I try to load rom, any rom I get this error The application SprintOmaDm(process com.motortola.android.sprintomadm)has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
same here.
the only different is that i am not installed a new rom i only did factory default.
the phone want start.
i need gsm not cdma.
what can i do ????
1) What ROM were on prior to flashing the new ROM?
2) Was your initial ROM modded in any way?
3) What are you using to flash the ROM
4) Did you wipe cache/dalvik cache/data prior to flashing the new ROM?

Hello,
I'm a X10 user, but my brother has SGSII so I'm not familiar with the kernel & ROM stuff. His problem is, that whenever he tries to flash any of MIUI ROM's (Android 4.0) he gets after about 10min of using it an "com.android.process has stopped working" error.
He wiped everything: cache, data, dalvik and still nothing.
After that he has to reflash to the current official ICS ROM, which is working fine.
Please help me to solve the problem, if You know what's the reason.
first do a factory reset than install stock rom then root it then flash miui rom...

But it is already on stock, rooted ROM
Hi,
I've recently rooted my phone and installed my first ROM - Resurrection Remix - and it's notified my of an update (v3.1.3) and downloaded the zip for me. My question is how do I safely update RR?
When I first installed it I had to perform a number of steps wiping and clearing things before installing from a zip using CWM. Hopefully I don't have to do all of these as I don't want to have to completely reinstall every update, but do I have to do any of them still or do I just install from the zip in CWM without any other steps?

Have you read the first posts of the ROM thread?
Maybe there is a description of how to install the update.
If not, then you can just flash the update zip file in CWM recovery and try to reboot normally.
If everything works fine ... that's it.
If you have issues, boot into recovery, wipe cache and Dalvik cache and reboot normally again.
If that does not help, then you might have to wipe data (do a factory reset) in recovery.
But I think that these steps are not needed as you are already on this custom ROM.
(Usually you only have to do the complete wipe steps when coming from another / stock ROM - and the other way round.)
Good luck !
P.S.: Always create a nandroid backup before flashing. So you are able to "go back" if needed.
HI, I installed simplicity v5 on my gt-s5830i and patched it with v5.2 and now I want to install another rom. It's a nooby question but do I need to install a stock rom in my phone before installing another rom or can I do it directly. Also if I need to install the stock rom first then is it possible to do so with recovery mode or do I need to use odin. Thanks in advance
No there is no need to install a stock Rom, you just need to install the new Rom through recovery. Backup your data with something like Titanium Backup because it is best to do a factory reset first to avoid any issues.
You can try a dirty flash which is without doing the factory reset but you might face problems with FC's.
I switched Roms many times before finding the one I liked each time just factory reset then install new Rom.

Hi!
I need some help with understanding of flashing custom roms e.t.c.
If I have 4.3 ( latest official update ), is it possible that I upgrade to CM11 4.4? Or I just can flash roms wich are based on 4.3?
Dont get it!
Thank you for responding!
If you have custom recovery installed, then you can install Compatible ROMs for your device (such as CM 4.4). If you are running stock or another ROM, then by entering custom recovery and making Nandroid backup first, you can install the ROM. To install, read the post for ROM you want to make sure compatible/whats needed (like GApps, etc), download, backup current ROM if isssue happens (to save yourself), WIPE data/factory reset, WIPE cache/dalvik cache, install ROM/etc as directed via the ROM post page. As long as you can meet these, you can flash what you'd like.

Welcome, make sure you do your research though on flashing and the ROM in case there are issues with the ROM specifically (ex. Bluetooth not working, or something). Any one thing missing (didn't flash GApps, ROM problem, etc) can cause issue. If no issues or you can live around them if they exist, then good luck.
I installed cyanogenmod on my HTC One X+. It's really slow now, so I would like to install another ROM. I tried installing another ROM but it gets stuck on the booting screen everytime. I just installed my backup again, so my phone does work again. How do I install another ROM? I figured out I need to flash another image or something. I can't find a good tutorial on how to do this for a specific ROM and with updated files, because I understood from various forums that I need a newer image if I want to install another ROM?
Thank you.
flash boot.img which is in your rom.zip (you have to do this on every rom-update and wipe dalvik cache and cache after this)
