Can someone tell me how I can make an APK so i can install fonts on my SGS2 and select them in the font app the came with the phone?
I do not want zips for flashing as I do not desire to change the system default font, but rather the option to add more choices.
I tried taking a look at some of the other font apks I have downloaded but have not been able to ascertain how they are made so that I can recreate.
I made a couple of own font .apks based on this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745345
First time will take a while till you finish it and get it to work, but once you get the hang of it, you make own flipfonts like a machinegun
And flipfonts are the ones that appear under Settting - Display - Screen Display - Fontstyle? so I can change them around without the "hack" of overwritting Droid Sans and having to reboot?
Because I have the Fontomizer SP app installed which also comes with a slew of fonts which are installed like any regular app and they show up in "Font Style" and I can swap around without ever having to reboot. And thats what I want to do to with "my own" font APK's as well.

If you could take a moment and look at the thread you linked to I seem to have a spot of problems that I would be happy if you could help me with

Hey guys, is it possible to change the tbolt font? With the OG Droid i was able to install a font.zip through rom manager without any issues but I am unsuccessful with the tbolt....
Thanks!
I use an app called Font Changer from the market. Its free, although there is a donate version. Just download the font you want (search "fonts" in the xda search bar and you shouldn't have any problems finding any), unzip it, and move it to the ".fontchanger" folder on your sd card. Then, open the Font Changer app and it should pull up all the fonts that you loaded. I didnt change the names if the fonts were already named, or changed the name for differentiation purposes, but this was merely for personal preference, as when you go into the app the fonts will show up as how they actually look. I moved all 3 files inside each font, but dont know for sure if you need all three. Hope this helps.
BTW, it will ask you to reboot, but always hit reboot later because it locks up when you have the app reboot it.
I use absolute system its like 99cents but does fonts bootanimations and ad blocker. Think it has a few other features but I don't use em.

I appreciate it!!! Thanks a lot guys!!!
Just looking for font packs to flash only. Thanks will apply
Here's a thread from the OG EVO section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801160&highlight=Fonts
I haven't tested these, but they install to the same location, so I don't see why they wouldn't work.

Gonna try a edify font now will report back.
Edify font scripts didn't take. Trying regular ones now
Edit: Nope
a lot of those fonts have been pulled due to infringement of some kind and that thread i believe doesn't get updated anymore.
if your looking for a certain font then thats where google comes to play. some fonts aren't able to be posted on the forums due to copyright. but im sure some searching will get you to what your looking for.
I hear font changer works but hangs and requires battery pull
If you don't have an Evo3d well ...
This flashable zip worked for me. Put the font files in the fonts folder of the zip and flash. Requires a little extra work on your part.
yeah font changer worked last night for me, it got hung up and I had to do a battery pull but the font changed. The flashable fonts don't work so take the files out of the zip and put them in the folder on the sd card that font changer says to.

What I have found to work REALLY awesome! not only for Fonts, but for boot animations, applications..etc.. its called Absolute System. You can look it up on google or market.. they have full versions avail in the usual places.. ;-)
Has anyone figured out how to use a bigger system font on this phone? I tried the older font zip from the OG but the install fails.
The higher resolution in the 3d is nice, but the tiny system font is a problem for me.
Copy the fonts in using root explorer and change permissions to match the others.
You could raise the dpi, I don't know what it would look like though. I tried changing the font using that same method myself and the phone crashes on boot up. I didn't change the permissions, I didn't think I had to.
Flash the single font file
Those of us that just recently started needed reading glasses can sympathize.
Download Font Changer from the Market. It's pretty idiot proof as it always allows a reinstall of the default system font if you screw things up. Has a great "preview" feature that lets you see just how big the fonts are to install. It doesn't specifically say the 3D is supported but I can confirm it works with a rooted ViperROM. I didn't need to do any of the renaming things either.
Good collection of free fonts from here. Just download them and unzip the .ttf files to the .fontchanger directory on the SD card.:
http://www.fontsquirrel.com/
Experimented with a few different fonts, a couple of the "bigger" fonts would be cut off on the bottom or top depending on what application I was in. I ended up settling with the Luxi-Sans font and am pretty happy with it. Don't need my glasses scrolling through my call directory anymore!
Here's the direct link to the Luxi-Sans font I'm using:

Thanks for the information guys!
I will try these ideas.
Rydah805, would you describe in more detail how to do the above?
Thanks again.
I noticed recently that when I receive a new Gmail message, the new message is highlighted and bold, etc. just like normal...but every other message in my inbox is also bolded. And once I read the message and I have ZERO new messages, everything remains bold until the app is either force closed or ends by itself (by Android multitasking or whatever).
I thought it was due to the ICS theme I'm using, but I'm seeing now that every theme is doing this...I also installed the Roboto font sometime before the ICS theme, so maybe that's it? I used the font from the Font Installer app in the market.
I tried searching for more info, but it doesn't seem anyone has this problem. I've deleted data/uninstalled and reinstalled the Gmail app a few times and it still winds up happening. At first I thought it happened randomly, but I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to only when I get new emails.
Not a big problem, but annoying nonetheless. Does anyone know what could cause this and/or how to fix?
Having the same issue as well. Running the ICS theme by Sonny on CM7. I also installed the Roboto font. Kind of weird though I didn't notice this right off though. Seems like it took a few days after installing the ICS theme before it happened to me.
A fix would be nice, but as you said it's not a huge issue, but I'm curios as well as to the cause.

Which Roboto are you using? Did you use a Market app to install it or a CWM zip or something?
I used the font installer included in Rom Toolbox, I do believe it's the same as Font Installer on the market by Jrummy (uses the same storage location on the Sd Card anyway)
To be honest, I'm not positive on which version of the Roboto font was installed. I placed all versions (Bold, Itallic and regular in my fonts folder). The font installer shows me a preview of only the Bolded version, which looks like what I'm getting in Gmail.
I'm going to download FontChanger from the market and see what happens with that.
Edit: Tried Font Changer. While it does give more options and the ability to choose whichever version the of the Font I want to install, still have the same issues. After a reboot, all my read email was perfect, as soon as I sent an email to myself, right back to all unread mail being bold again.

So are you only getting it with the Roboto font? What about other fonts/stock font/etc.?
Only with Roboto font. I tried a few other fonts and no problems. Weird

Hmmm lame.. I think I'm gonna try installing Roboto from another source then some time to see if that helps. I don't really see why a font would make this happen
Ok, now this is weird. I used Helvetica which is very similar to Roboto, and sure enough, the same thing happens. Bold read emails. I switch to Caviar Dreams font, and back to the normal Unbold read emails in Gmail. Wow this is really crazy

Hmmm kinda seems like its just a problem with certain fonts that's gone mostly unnoticed before now! I was gonna flash the roboto font in zip form, but the flash failed so I'll have to figure that out next. What other options for installing roboto are there?
Map the font in this manner using fontchanger:
DroidSans --> Roboto-Regular or Roboto-Condensed
DroidSans-Bold --> Roboto-Bold or Roboto-CondensedBold
This should fix your issues.
Hello,
I used themer on CM11 for some months but the last month I had an 4.03 which isn't supported.
Yesterday I flashed CM12(android 5.02) and I started to use themer again. The problem is that in this latest version of themer when I try to change a font, the loadind of fonts is very slow and very often crash the app. Sometimes after 3-5 minutes I can see the list and choose a font, but this is very slow and I need to change fonts(to support my language) very often. I tried another app which loads a fonts list and it does it almost immediately, so doesn't seem to be device's or rom's problem.
Is there any faster way to change fonts of a theme? For e.g by editing an xml file or something?

Hi there,
Unfortunately Themer only works well when changing the fonts within Zooper. Everything else could lead to crashes. If you would like to change the fonts (for widgets only), placing new ones inside the /sdcard/ZooperWidget/Fonts folder. If Themer is still crashing we recommend unistalling the app, deleting the /sdcard/MyColorScreen/ folder then resinstalling Themer.
Hope this helps!
Marco
Sorry, I've misleading you. In fact, the problem is when trying to load the font list within Zooper. This is very slow and cause themer crashes, or hot reboot sometimes.

Could you please provide us with the steps you used so that we can try to replicate this issue?
Thanks

I didn' do anything special, and this happened in all themes with zooper I tried. For e.g I just tried on "Orange Glow" theme.
-open advanced menu
-choose unlock widgets
-tap and hold on a zooper widget
-select configure
-select widget disign(or something, I haven't english UI)
-choose a text element
-select text font element
at this last step I get the "loading" popup dialog for a long time. Sometimes after more than 2 minutes the font list is displayed, but usually themer crashes before that.
This time I tried on a saved version of the above theme and the font list displayed a lot faster. So seems that this happens with fresh downloaded themes, not the saved versions of them. It happens only one time(now) though.
EDIT:
I tested it one more time and it happens again. So the problem exists and with saved version of theme.
EDIT2:
I attached the log when I'm trying to change font(this time the font list appear after 2 minutes).

Hi,
Just to check, what device are you using? Also, what app are you referring to when you say that you tried loading another fonts list.
Thanks!
My device is an old Huawei Ideos X5, but with a custom CM12 rom. The app I used was a module app for xposed with name PerAppFonts. I haven't xposed installed though and I don't use this app/module, just use it to test how quick the font list loaded.
