Hi guys,
How can I remove those unwanted icons for apps that were installed on the SD card. It happened after I flashed my device with an official ROM without removing the SD card. But I formatted it later and those icons appeared.
I installed them from the market again but it's still there.
Please advise

Hold your thumb down on them and drag then to the delete bin/icon like you would with any normal app.
Cooza, no, the icons are in applications menu, not on the homescreen.

Just uninstall them as per usual (Menu - Edit - Minus arrow). I've seen this happen a few times when I remove a system apps using titanium backup.

A bunch of thanks, perfectly worked! I think this option wasn't available in v2.3.3 isn't it?

Yep it's been available since the S2s launch I believe. Personally it's one of my favourite TW features
I've also discovered the lockscreen's pattern, looks cool
Thanks anyway

Is there a way to backup/Restore the screen widgets???
.
No, it's an android limitation that widgets and locations can't be backed up and restored, that we hope will be fixed with ics

Not possible to Restore after flashing a new ROM but with Desk Migrate you can copy widgets from this launcher to that.
What about using Titanium backup and back up both the app and the data? It might work

Titanium backup restores the settings but you only get an error loading widget where the widget used to be.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Go Backup & Restore claims to have the feature, but it's buggy and doesn't always work half the time ya get the same "Problem Loading Widget Error" I've tried everything from copying my existing Go Launcher folder to my sd card and restoring it upon new rom install and it only worked one time then never worked again.
And you necroed a 2yr+ old thread to say that, eh (which everybody worked out around the time that thread was created) ?
Am using dolphin HD now. Whenever i "close" it with the home button and open up another app. I go back to dolphin and the webpages are being reloaded? i remember iPhone doesnt do this unless it really runs out of memory. Now, i have a tweak on my rom that doesnt let my ram drop below 200mb. Any ideas why this is happening?

No it's not safe.
Download and install nova, apex etc. launcher before you do that.
Heh your SIII won't boot without a launcher. That happens
It's just like a windows computer without windows installed

I've already backed up my nandroid. Say if that happens. I just have to flash the backup via CWM and all will be fine?

In theory yes, but I haven't tried. I don't understand why you don't install another launcher before you delete TW launcher? Why would you try to run your SIII without a launcher installed?

yep, if you've done everything right, the nandroid should restore your phone.
i don't know which rom you are using so copy and backup the nandroid to your computer.
(some roms delete the sd-card when formatting)
OK deleted my touchwiz with nova installed. Worked fine. Hope the ram usage goes down though. Still am seeing the touch wiz lock screen..

No, you are just seeing the system lock screen. Touchwiz, for the most part, on the GSIII, is just a launcher. A lot of the other things you see are other parts of the ROM.
Freezing Toucwiz with Titanium Backup would have been a better choice that deleting it.

there are 3 "solutions":
1) Use an ASOP/AOKP rom
2) Use JKay Framework and lock the dialer & contacts in memory
3) Use a 3rd party app
Hence, there is no "real" solution to the issue.

Nope, never worked for me. It extended the amount of time contacts and dialer stayed in memory, but not by a lot. Tried on several ROMs too.

this was what i tried:
without xposed : open dialer once , kill it in "Recents" , play heavy game for while , open lots lots apps and then go back to open dialer , it like what , take 2 or 3 seconds to open it.
with xposed: same as above but it seems finished open within a second, through not as quickly as you open it , back out , open again.
Super!

Hey guys, a few questions...
1. When I flashed the rom using the appropriate method (format system / factory reset / wipe davlik) my previous SD card data "disappears" I can't see it in astro but I do through boot loader.. What is going on? How can I access that data?
2. When I tried to install black mart, an apk file it doesn't let me press the install button. I do have the unknown source option checked. How can I fix that??
3. I restored my backup, stock rom, and everything works fine for now... Is this safe?? Can I just restore PAC-man and continue using it??

1. Its in /data/media, this is covered numerous times, its a 4.2 change. Copy your files from /data/media to /0.
2. I won't help with warez. Aside from that is it the only app this happens with?
3. Restore wipes before restoring, so its mostly fine, but I wouldn't flash PAC over a sense rom since they are all 4.1.

Have you tried any non pay valid apk files? Like even in TiBu or something? It can be anything from the play store that is free, just wondering if its a paid app issue or any app.

I figured it out..
1. The files are hidden.
2. Astro didn't see the files, even when I selected show hidden files.
I used a different app, perfectly....

This is the second time I've seen astro fail to see those files, they really need to update. I use solid and it sees all that stuff first e right off the bat, no settings needed. Its not free, though, so I try not to suggest it as it has a trial period last I checked. Es file manager should also work well.

I would give ghost commander a try. It is feature rich and root mode compatible. Just make sure to customize the toolbar...

Hey folks.
My "Application Manager" keeps crashing everytime I open it. No error message, simply closes by itselft after about 5 seconds.
I can't tell what is causing this. I already wiped cache and dalvik, disabled some apps and cleared some space in internal memory. But nothing works.
I've flashed a new kernel (Speedmod) some days ago, but I'm almost sure that I've used application manager after that.
I've been playing with Clean Master and SD Maid, maybe this problem is related to these apps? I don't know.
I would appreciate some help and tips...

Must have another way...
You've obviously installed something recently or the data of something has changed and caused an incompatibility that's causing this.
If you're sure it worked after the kernel, there's not much you can do without a full wipe
Or restore the nandroid you took before flashing the kernel

I'm afraid I'll disable each recent installed app until I find the culprit.

I got a recent nandroid backup here. There is an option in TB to restore apps from a nandroid backup. I was thinking about restore "Settings" system app. Is that safe to do? The Application Manager is related to settings app, right? I cannot find an app with that name.
Yes it will be the settings app, but its likely its not the settings app causing the problem.
My sound menu used to do the same thing. I did a wipe and restored everything in titanium one by one to find out what caused it. Guess what it was?
That's right "wallpaper settings"...
See what I mean?
