I'm gonna make a couple probably tomorrow.

I have started to make icons for another theme...but want to learn how to change menu s, fonts, etc. I have a ton of reading to do....good place to start?

Look at the community rom thread in general, there is a link to an easy kitchen.

Okay, so to no avail I have tried to get UOT Kitchen to work, and everytime I try, no matter what format I put the .zip file into it fails to install. Any other avenues you suggest for creating a theme?

Explain everything you did

Okay, so I can cook it just fine, but it fails at the .zip process. I have tried using both edify script (MTD and EMCC) and Amend scripting. Both of those failed. Tried flashing them, tried unzipping them, and putting in the framework and senseui in again, nothing seems to work.

Senseui? This is a motorola phone. You only need to modify the main framework and systemui.apk

I think it needs a updated binary script that's why it wouldn't work when I tried a few months ago

Hm....now to figure out how to update the binary script. And to what....heh.

uhh crap, I think you can pull it from the latest rom and put it in the theme zip

G+ me Bro. I had a question. :]

hit me back up, I sent you one like a hr ago.
I'll re add you on GTalk

Just hit you back up. Sounds like a plan.

question for developer. su fcs

Each time I create a new rom I cannot get past this problem: superuser force closes when I update ANY app in the market. Tried all three versions of su. Any ideas?
I just left you a post over on the kitchen thread about thus issue. It sounds like you are not using the patched version. If you are choosing that option and its giving you fcs, try manually putting rmk version of superuser.apk into your system/apps

I tried all three the kitchen provides you with, but ill try adding su manually. I figured the kitchen added more than the apk so I didn't try that yet

Im downloading now and will pull the superuser out of my rom and drop it in and rebuild and see what we get with that. If it works without force closes, I will sned you a copy of the superuser app...if it doesn't, I may mess around with pulling some files and dropping them in my .6 deodex/debloat rom and see if we can get this thing kickin...it looks great though beyond the FC's...keep it up

Ok.
1) First thing I noticed right off the back is that you NEED to include a launcher with your rom or it will not load. I pushed rosie to it to be able to do anything. This doesn't have to be Rosie, but there needs to be one in there.
2) Flash the file in this post and your superuser will be good to go!
-Love the Framework mods...just make sure you toss in that and unzip and replace the superuser app and xbin/su file with the ones in the post on your future build. I will get with dsixda because something must have happened with his latest build that resulted in it not flashing the patched version. As soon as I flashed it, I had NO problem with it at all...
Hope this helps ya out and can't wait to see what future builds you have in store.

Wtf!

I read go to System/Apps and look for odex files to see if im deodixed odexed whatever the **** its called. What am I missing?

if you would give your thread a proper name and tell us what you want to do and what rom and kernel you use someone could probably help you but the way you did it, no.

and again I find my self at one of your abusive threads boy this is fun, you said your own a custom rom so why not here is a long shot go to the rom thread take a look and ask in there, and stop being a foul mouthed short tempered prick because frankly you may be making my evening quite fun but you aint going to get any help, and the problems you having with the kitchen maybe be something to do with you needing to be spoon fed information.
And no wear in this thread have you made "numerous" posts saying what rom you are on, except the one post you made after *****ing like a twat again.

Taken from the Checkrom forum post I suggest you read about the rom you are using before making posts like this one again.
In regards to the kitchen make sure you are set to the correct server if its set to the old Revolution ROM 2.7.1 i would take a stab and say they wont work since they are built for XXKI3.
Also try removing cached packages from kitchen pro preferences.
Base XXKI4
Multi CSC
Deodexed
Zipaligned
no increasing ring for Phone.apk
resolv.conf added for faster gps lock
Much Improved an optimal Init.d scripts
Updated DK Engine for the upcoming kernel!
Tweaks to build.prop
JkayV12.1
Minor bug's fixed
smoothness to the core
Included libsqlite.so and libsqlite_ini.so from Android 2.3.7 (improves performance)
Included app_process and system_server from Android 2.3.7 (improves scrolling)
Included sqlite3
Maps.apk to v5.11 with global Navigation (ownhere/Brut.all)
added .salted_hash in sdcard/clockworkmod

[Q] Rom into .zip

I currently created a rom thats a mix of two roms put together and tweaked to my liking and battery life. I dont plan on distributing it because its not my work but i would like to make it into a .zip in case anything happens. How would I go about doing so? I tried fruit cake but it didnt seem to work at all. The two roms I have combined are iscrewed and turkbey.

Look at how the updater-script of various ROMs you use is written - that's the main thing you might need to change.

You can download my ROM and just delete my system folder and add yours. Do same for all files. Most of my roms use data for install off apps.. If you don't want that you have to delete data lines in updater script. Make sure you use NotePad++ not regular NotePad to edit scripts. Then sign zip.. If not know how just put zip on your phone and use signapktik app in market. If you already have turkbey or other ROM zip... Just do the same with there's

It doesn't always happen, but I've had it happen lots of times when moving big amounts of data like a whole system file.
Either way not worth arguing about.

Adding apps to flashable files

So if I want to add apps like the note2 gallery to my port do I just put it in the app file zip it up and sign it?

Hey skinzy98, real quick, just wanted to let you know that your work in the development sub-forum is greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work!
Now to answer your question. If you're planning to inject an app into a ROM, then you can accomplish this by placing the .apk into the system/app directory inside your ROMNAME.zip, and that's it (assuming the ROM sets recursive permissions to the entire system/app directory). This would result in your injected app being installed as a system app. However, if you want it to be installed as a data app... Well, it's gonna' be a little more involved. For what you plan to do, installing it as a system app would probably be best anyhow. Good luck, and let me know if you need any help/have any questions. Always glad to help a bro out when I can.

[WIP] Uploading deodexed v20h, ideas?

I will be uploading my backup in the dev section this evening. Its deodexed and will have better init.d support (kudos to kuma)
Its going to be themed etc. Just wanted to see if anyone had some input as to what youd like to see in the backup. Keep in mind its nerely a backup and for locked bl so its limited. But will offer some benefits over stock.
Keep an eye out. Best of luck

Maybe you could try theming it, or try making it feel like a ROM on its own
