My battery drains average 20% per hour on WiFi.....what can I do ?

Check all your apps and see if any of those are the cause. Also could be kernel related or a combo of radio and kernel

I am on stock. On battery usage, it shows that Display is making the highest usage but it has always been the case with all my previous Android devices, as I have set auto brightness so there is nothing more that could be done.
How do I know which app is making the drainage ?

Do you know of any Radios or combos of Kernels and Radios that could be causing battery drain issues?

Sometimes you have to play around with them even though we have the same phone each one is different some don't like some kernels and others do

What is ur awake and up times?
Sent from my Beastly EVO.. And did I mention it has 3D?

Use SetCPU profiles for root. If you set it so that when the screen is off, the CPU goes to 192 mHz, then the battery drain when the phone's asleep will be about 1% per hour. (Thats what i got)

I had the same problem a while ago, and it's because i had messed with the animations on the spare parts (changed them from normal to fast), it look pretty sick but it did kill my battery,

Download the battery calibration app from the market, and let your batt die recharge complete and let battery calibration run.

I let the battery die completely then I recharged full while phone was off, but when I powered on it was at 74% !!! so I tried to boot clockwork recovery to wipe battery stats but seems I have to install CWR (on my HD2 nand I did) but I thought on stock Android phones it is already there by default.

battery exclamation point

hey guys!
sometimes there's an exclamation point in the battery. whats this?

Put a little piece of paper behind your battery or a corner of a reward card... Just something to make the battery more secured to the terminals
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
ok, I give it a try.
you mean the 2 "contactors" (sorry for bad English)?
but when they don't fit exactly, my phone will turn off, isn't?

That means u have a bad battery.... I had the same problem so I took it back to the store and they gave me a new battery
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
On the opposite side of the microSD card toward the lower half of the phone
Just stick a small enough piece of a card to make a good fit
My phone did this and after this I hardly ever get the exclamation battery ( only happens when it gets extremely overheated now)

I just asked this in another thread. Happened to me the first time last night and again today. I was doing a lot of battery pulls due to some svn problems. The volume +/- and power button wasn't cutting it, had to battery pull to get to recovery. Maybe I bent a contact or something, happened on my old TP2 one time. Otherwise, I may look at a new battery or two.

I'm sorry, as this rom is new to me, how do I make this change? Will the phone still be peppy? It took a few days for the phone to settle in, and I would hate to lose the performance.

Well I've never tried it so can't say. However do you have a rouge app maybe? Do you have a lot of Widgets on your home screens? Did you turn off background data, gps, etc?? All these play a major roll in battery life. Did you do a fresh install?

Fresh install. Wiped even everything three times. Only widgets are the clock and Google Music. Of course the phone lists the screen as 70% of the usage.

Some days battery kicks ass, others it drains rather quickly. I'm gonna blame it on network changes.

Cpu problems

Hello everyone i am running predator unity3D 1.8 with anryl 30.09 and the cpu can go up to 1.5ghz its set at max 1512 and i set it a min 192mhz to save battery but it automatically overclocks the minimum frequency to 1512 its like running the performance governor while i set it ondemand and its killing my battery life what might be causing that problem? On other roms it works fine
Thx in advance

I'd recommend removing all saved data from any CPU program using titanium or system tuner pro, then reinstall only 1 CPU app, restoring "only" the app. Then starting again oc/uv, that should fix your issue
by patch, I mean have you installed, a secondary CPU controller zip, post Rom install

So if you switch it back to single does it still enable the second core on demand? Or is it simply always off? I really don't know much about this I have only started playing around with it since this kernel was released 2 versions ago.

I use smokin1337 CPU patch to oc and force dual core but I use system tuner pro to uv, performance and settings saved depend on other conflicts of init.d data and boot completion patch renewal

You're on pace for 20 hours according to this.
I broke 60 hours with my OG EVO on CM7, and consistently got 40. That said, I'm still happy with this battery life! I just need one day and I'm happy.

It's a big step for HTC and android
Apparently the scepticsicm on sealed battery backfired
The og evo ALWAYS HAD CRAP BATTEEY LIFE. UNLESS ON A EXTENDED BATTEEY.
I'm not sure what alien programmed your og evo, but I found them all to be junk for battery life and I owned least 15
I still say in my opinion the evo lte has the s3 beat in design looks battery life all of it.
It's a very good phone

This is with just over 3 hours of screen on time. My record is 6 hours of screen on after 16 hours, with about 15% of battery left.

My battery is nor bad when I use the phone to make calls or sms but when I use it for browsing using google chrome or chatting using whatsapp its become very bad it dropped about 20% / hour when I use it for browsing with the screen setting on automatic. I'm still running stock thhough . Any input on how to make it last longer? If I use the phone just to make calls and sms it can last me more than a day.

What I would do is adjust your brightness manually. I work 3rd shift though, so my brightness is pretty much always @ 15%. The screen is what eats up the most battery, so logically using less backlight will lower that.
When I watch movies over netflix I lose about 15-20% an hour. 5 hours of streaming video is pretty good.
Ow okay, thx ill try that. I thought is the data transfer that eats up the battery as the phone get hot when theres data transfers going.
Anyway I want to try to install the mean Rom as most people says it has a battery saver function that supposedly make the battery life a little bit longer.
