i've been wondering if it's possible to make an Android ROM based on Froyo,Gingerbread or Honeycomb for Tablet have it running on a nokia n800? what do i need? if this is possible, nitdroid project has not been active for the n800 port, i have seen some video showing n800s running eclair or even froyo, but this people doesnt responde at all, nitdroid says the n800 port has been stopped and instead n900 port is in the making, i wanna give a try for myself if something can give me some guidance i would appreciate it so much
Thanks so much in advance
BTW
I managed to install nitdroid on my n800,. but we are talking about donut, and is kinda slow , dont have sound at all, and the main objective is to ditch maemo and to have android as primary OS in the tablet, before getting enough money to buy a MMP powered with android, like the samsung galaxy player 50 or some other android device equally small like the n800
Thanks again guys for any help

hi i've got a samsung omnia hd i8910... i think that symbian sucks and i've seen that there are a lot of porting for other mobile phone. so i ask you: can you create a way to install wp7 or android on i8910? the hardware of this phone is not bad and now there is also the overclock made by HyperX (up to 900MHz) .. so, someone can try to find a way to upgrade this phone to a really OS ? sorry for my bad english.
please help us, we are a lot with this problem!
up... please help us!
up please... help
hello everybody!
i am an omnia hd's owner too!
i think this smartphone is superb!the only limit is the symbian 5th O.S. infact i'd like to know why samsung team put this instead of android and didn't released any important update.
if android porting isn't possible, anyway i hope symbian 3^.
thanks for any help in advance!
i've knew that in past the problem was the boot loader. but i've read also that it was unlocked.
so where is the problem now?
the cpu is the OMAP3430 so i think that there is no problem to a android porting because the motorola droid has it too...
or maybe a porting of the maemo os, infact n900 has a OMAP3430.
help us... we want that our phone rise again, because we paid it a lot not so time ago.. and it has a very good hardware...
AFAIK No one else on this forum has one and no one is going to buy one to dev for you unless you donate.
i will donate if you could find codec dark edition room for me
I have this now. Great phone. I still use it mostly for the speakers.
I would love to see Symbian 3 Belle on. It's near impossible I guess. I wish Samsung had not ditched dual speakers.
Samsung really bombed this phone. A little more wide spread release and support with update to later versions of Symbian and it would have been soooo much better.

Maybe a very stupid question but is it posible to port any other os to sgs2? Like linux or meego or any other??
It's very much possible to do that. It's only a matter of time before we see that happen.
There are already many phones that are running on ported os. However it may not make it to an Os for daily use.

Very possible as long as theres a driver for each device on that particular OS, probably only iOS cant be ported due to its closed source nature.
well i know about iOS and i would bought an iPhone if i wanted iOS. I got my sgs2 as gift, so i didn't chosed android, and i like android but i do like bit more Metro UI etc WP7 it would be nice if we could p[ort it one day

I understand what he means, he means if its possible to port Android to a phone that is not running android.
A phone that runs a java-based os, like the LG GD510.
You mean like a corby 2? Well, I dont think thats possible, but we did it with the touchpad and hd2 anyways...

I know this is a strange question, but... years ago, someone ported Android OS on an iPhone, so, I wonder if it's possible to port Android on a BB10 device.
Now BB10 can install and run Android apks, I was able to run launchers like Nova, Next 3D and Aviate.
Could someone tell me something about that? (maybe without flaming, I know BB isn't so popular for most of you), I'm only asking.
Thanks in advance.
Btw, I'm an Android user, but got a Z10 and I love it.
OK first of all hey everyone.
Lately there has been quite a bit of hype in certain circles about the possiblilty of porting Firefox OS to an android device. This operating system seems pretty light weight and could be perfect for our devices low spec nature. Now I am no good at porting and have no real experience at it... The supplied documentation for porting at Firefox's website goes right over my head.
Would it be possible for any clever person out there to port Firefox to our device???
Anyway thank you for reading this and I hope that it turns out pretty easy for someone to do... If not don't drive yourself mad, I am curious is all
Firefox porting information: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Porting
P.s. Sadly I couldn't find anything on Jolla so I will leave that request for another time when the porting community gets a better grip upon it.
