Not sure if anyone uses this app on a regular basis as I do, but there are some really cool added features coming in the premium version. Syncing and such.
Anyhow, right now they are offering the new premium app for $4.99 on Amazon for life where as after tomorrow, the fee will be $1.99 a month. Seems like a great deal to get it now. I can also say the syncing between phones works great. Mine and my wife's can share the grocery list with no problem.
http://www.amazon.com/Out-Of-Milk-L...1?ie=UTF8&s=mobile-apps&qid=1307122262&sr=1-1
What is the monthly fee for multiple users?
Looks like a pretty good deal for a lifetime subscription, but the Amazon site indicates a small monthly fee to add users (like my wife?) to the app.
Any idea what that fee would be? I'm currently using OurGroceries (with ads). The real-time updating is the important thing for me on the grocery list -- without it, it's really not worth buying.
Guess I'm old fashioned, but paper and pen works for us, and in the grand scheme of life, some things need to be left that way! The day I sync a grocery list is the day I lose my phone, and TV remote to a younger generation.

I bought it on both phones so that I had the license on both. Works great. My wife made me a few lists already.

LOL....yea, but I try to keep a better handle on my phone than on a paper list. I would lose the list. At least if you lose your phone, you can call it and find it.
OurGroceries works well and free.

Check out Cozi it works cross platform and can handle tasks and calendars as well as lists and there is an ad supported version.

I use Logmein (free) on my home desktop each day to check email & do some work remotely in Oracle.
Coworkers have tried Ignition on their iPads but give it a thumbs down for useability.
Has anyone tried it on a CM7 NC? Thought about getting one of the BT mini-keyboards to use with it, but paying $$ for an app that might not work gives me pause. Anyone have experience with it?
I'd be curious to know, too.
I use LogMeIn both from my PC and my iPad -- with an external keyboard, it's usable on the iPad. I can't help think that the 7" screen on the NC would just be too small, though.
Its usable but expect lag and delay on screen refresh. If you plan to use it for a quick file grab then its ok but don't expect to be doing anything intensive.
Alternative
You may want to consider Team Viewer. At least the last time I used it, it was free.
With it, I has some funny behaviour with artifacts being left on my NC screen after I closed windows on my Vista machine. I suspect that it was an issue on the Vista box, but I'm not sure...
I've used Team Viewer before, but much prefer Logmein, it seems to function a lot better & has more options. Plus don't you need to have someone at both ends to provide the remote session access code info for TV?
Also wondered if it would be really useable on such a small screen, I guess for simple email reading it might work , but for drilling thru Oracle screens, it might be a bit of a stretch.
Anyone know if there's a free trial period, or do you have to buy it to use it at all first? Would like to try it out, but don't really want to part with $30 if it fails.
I highly recommend Phone My PC as a Logmein alternative.
It's only $10, and you can do pretty much everything on your connected PC. You can set the graphics quality, and at it's highest settings it looks just as good as sitting in front of your pc monitor. You can also hook up as many pc's as you want. I have been using it for about a year on my phones and now my nook. I really like it.
Here's the market link, if you want to check it out:

This looks pretty interesting! So how is it for mousing around on remote screens?
I'd need to switch across two monitors. The price is definitely right.

It's great, you can tap around the screen or you can bring up a mouse cursor to move around. I have not used multiple screens with it. But, from what I can tell switching between monitors is as simple as clicking an icon, and picking your monitor.
excellent, will check it out!
How about Pocket Cloud. It is free for one pc and is pretty easy to configure and use. I had it on NookieFroyo 2.2. and it worked fine.

Have been reading users comments in market & not seeing a lot of love , especially since it got a recent update. bummer
perhaps this:
http://www.splashtop.com/
Teamviewer seems to be the best free app out there. I discovered Splashtop Remote a couple weeks ago and was amazed though. It looks clean, and is powered by your GPU so you can watch movies and games (over wifi at least). Only thing that bugs me about it is lack of customization in the controls. There is a demo app to test drive it, and the paid version is only a buck.
How do you use TeamViewer without someone at the other end to enter in the ID# & password? I've never seen where you can login with it remotely otherwise.

I use Logmein Ignition for personal use and it works well. But for business purposes, I prefer a more secured option; hence I use RHUB remote support servers. It works well.
I was wondering if there is an android app that will allow me to remotely log into my PC and control it, much like we do with technical support from one pc to another when people are just inadequate at following directions verbally. Sometimes I forget to put things in my dropbox ect and would make things alot easier if we could do that from our tabs.
Thanks in advance
ps. Dont forget to sign your SOPA PIPA today
I have used Splashtop Desktop remote desktop and it works reasonably well.
EDIT: Splashtop HD is actually included free with the TF Prime, it is inside of "My Cloud" app which is why I missed it before (thanks fuzzer!)
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.splashtop.remote.pad
You can't really use applications like Adobe Photoshop through it, and it is difficult to interact with Windows 7 on such a small screen, but it works pretty well for accessing documents and files that are on your PC.
What kind of activities are you looking to do via remote desktop?
2x Client
https://market.android.com/details?...lt#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS50dXguY2xpZW50Il0.
Its free and works really well. I personally prefer Remote Desktop because I use it to remote into servers at work but it is kinda of pricey (but in my opinion totally worth it)
https://market.android.com/details?...mNvbS54dHJhbG9naWMuYW5kcm9pZC5yZHBjbGllbnQiXQ..
Edit: Both of these work with the built in Windows Remote Desktop that comes with Win 7 Pro and higher (and Win Server)

Yup I was actually trying to edit my post to reflect yours but it gave me an error.
Splashtop HD is included with the Transformer Prime, however it is hidden by the name "My Desktop" until you actually launch the app.
Considering the included version of Splashtop has been tweaked a bit for the Transformer Prime you would think that they would make it work more seamlessly with the keyboard dock.

Not to hijack the thread, but I haven't had any major issues with the TF Prime. The only issue that kinda bugs me is how far apart touchscreen events are detected as this makes it harder to draw and write onto the tablet. Apparently there is a software setting that can alter this but that kind of tweak is beyond me at the moment.
In general I think that Android 4.0 is a work in progress. While it is a massive improvement over both 2.3.x and 3.2, I have found myself running into rough areas where the OS doesn't behave in a consistent manner with its own rules. For instance the lack of Apps2Sd support or the fact that the Battery History doesn't deliver detailed usage. Maybe 4.1 will be better

You are correct.

I do not know if you guys already know, but until recently did not have such access, but now within the hotmail skydrive, you guys can create and edit office documents like the windows, although with some restrictions ... however I still think the best king polaris office and office, as relates to tools.
I hope you guys have helped
(using chrome beta)
Best office app i've seen is the Softmaker Textmaker mobile beta.
It has almost everything MS office has. Also adanced features like syllabification/correction test. Also it has full keyboard support with copy/paste and selecting text is really easy. The only thing missing is thesaurus but there are enough synonym apps to replace even that.
The best thing: Its still free at the moment as its in final beta status.
google it if you wanna try

I dont think the keyboard is anywhere near the quality of the prime^^ I'd rather buy a Transformer style pad from Asus with win8 instead of MS surface...
TFP is currently the best Tablet keyboard combo that I can sit on the plane with the thing on my lap and type..
that alone will make me stick to the prime, for now.. The office apps for Android about the same for me.. if you really need to work on big spreadsheets nothing really compares to a 20+ inch screen and a proper keyboard.
Or you could just use the "cloud on" app as that is office!

I downloaded the file. Any tips on installation?
Edit: Found the .apk. This is the website if anyone's interested: http://www.softmaker.com/english/download_en.htm
It's not playing nice with my Prime atm. Getting screen artifacts or something on the left side when opening it up. Going to download again.
When checking the comparison page to the other apps, this looks amazing.

Make sure you have 'Unknown Sources' under security settings checked to enable installation of non Play Store apps.
Then simple tap the downloaded apk in the file manager and it will prompt to install.

The last email i got said something like "final beta version" so i guess its rather sooner than later
My download for the free beta version ends the 2nd week in July.
Kingsoft Office. Free. All basics are here for ppt(x), xls(x), doc(x).
I have tried all the office style apps that are available so far on android as I was hoping to have a replacement for office when I am traveling. Polaris office is one of the best but I have had some issues saving with my external SD card and kept losing my work.
I have started using softmaker office and other than not being as smooth for two finger zooming, the features are well above anything else available at the moment.
It is now in 5th beta so imagine it will come out pretty soon. I just wish there was an email system that could handle pstx files and I would be complete
Office apps for prime
I can highly recommend Cloud on. I tried various options, and cloud on is by far the slickest - I also agree that using spreadsheets on anything less than a 20 inch screen is a nightmare.

Well, I just got myself an OTG cable for my Nexus 7. It's currently connected to a keyboard and I'm actually typing on it right now.
Since I just got my tablet, I'm not sure if I want a laptop. I have a desktop at home if I wanted to do homework, but in class I could bring my tablet.
Do you think it's silly to take notes in class with a tablet/keyboard combo? I'll probably use Supernotes too, unless there is a better note taking app.
Is it even practical either?

It's all a matter of personal preference personally I use a netbook for taking notes in class, but several people I know and my friends who have tablets use a a tablet and keyboard combination for taking notes (Ranging from ASUS Transformer to Ipad with bluetooth dock keyboard cover) and it works great for them. If you want to go light and the tablet/keyboard combo works for you I say go for it. Also check out Evernote, in my opinion the best mobile note taking app out there right now, plus it easily syncs with your Evernote notes on your desktop, on pretty much any OS and you can also edit your notes easily and conveniently from the web.

Catch is good but I feel as if Evernote is more polished, less buggy, and works better cross platform. Plus for me while the interface felt nice, things didn't necessarily seem as intuitive as they could have been, nerveless it is still a good alternative to Evernote. I also use AK Notepad by the people who make Catch for real simple quick and dirty note takings (Have been using that since early on with my Droid 1).
Over here in my school its compulsory for everyone to have a *cough* iPad *cough* (because its simple to use... really??), yeah I prefer it to pen and paper. Much faster and I get more customisation choices, screw different coloured pens... they're all on Google docs and I share them with everyone plus they don't get lost. Love it.
