[Q] Nandroid Questions...

Ive searched this forum, and general forum and even clicked the "similar threads" it suggested and i couldn't find an answer.
I have a few questions about the nandroid backups. I have successfully used nandroid, and am comfortable with the backup and restore functions..and I understand that being voodoo - that I must disable before i can nandroid restore to a non-voodoo setup..
i am using the "standard" red CWR..not the updated 3.0 orange one..
here are my questions..
1. let's say i make a nandroid backup of my 2.8 superclean voodoo that i am running now.. i go and flash MIUI and make a nandroid of that one.. can i flip flop back and forth using restore? do i need to wipe data/cache for each prior to restore? and will flip flopping back and forth cause any issues?
2. can i use any of the system tools (super manager/astro/ect..) and/or via SD connection to computer to rename my nandroid backups so i can differentiate between them better, rather than just having it named the date of the backup? if i rename it will it bork the file so it wont load when flashing a recovery?
3. some ROM's come with kernels attached..does the CWM note this and reflash kernels those possibly different kernels upon recovery since a specific kernel is running at the time of the backup?
thank you!

I can tell you nandroid doesn't flash kernels, you'd have to keep track of that manually if you use different kernel with each rom.
Depending on framework, and various other things I would imagine there's room for the two nandroids to interfere with each other but that's just my guessing, and I'm not very sure.

I would recommend wiping in between each restore. As long as the ROMs are both compatible with the kernel you're running, there shouldn't be an issue.

Yes. All the backup name is is a folder where the backup data is stored. It can be renamed to whatever you want.

Make nandroid backup?

Hey guys, i can't seem to make a nandroid backup on my P7510 it just gets stuck at the part where its making the backup
Any ideas guys, and I'm looking to move to the task rom....do i really need to have the nandroid backup?
what rom are you flashing btw? use odin to flash a new CWM and try that. if that doesnt work i would recommend nixing the backup and flash task's rom. make sure you follow his instructions tho, its not to complicated. His roms are the most stable out there.

[Q] Nandroid backups explorer for CWM 6+

So, anyone knows an nandroid backup explorer for backups made with CWM 6+? Neither App Extractor and Nandroid explorer works.
"I got my values. So you can keep yours, OK?"
Ugh I'm looking for the same. Titanium Backup won't read them either. Need a file out of my nandroid and going crazy trying to find a way.
I'm using Unstable Apps Touch CWMR latest.. it's CWM 6 based.

[Q] boot.iimg,recovery.img

Nandroid Backup in emulator

Hi xda
So ist got a question about nandroid Backups
1) so ive done a nandroid Backup of my rom and also saved the files on my PC but was concerned what would happen if i loose my phone permanently e.g. getting stoled. Could i be 100% sure that i can restore the img to any device i would get?
If not...
2) ist there the a way to emulate android on my pc and get a costum recovery for it, then being able to load the img? If so would this method be guaranteed to work?
