[Request] Working Wifi Calling patch for Defy CM7.1 - Defy Themes and Apps

I'd really appreciate if anyone has been able to get T-Mobile Wifi Calling working on the Defy with CM7, please share?

+1 for that!

same here +1

So there is some work on this over at the cyanogenmod issue tracker here. If you can run some adb commands, he could use your input since the person trying to fix this isn't on T-Mobile US.

[Q] Eris Bluetooth tethering

I have a Motorola Xoom and it does not support ad-hoc networks so I was wondering if there are any roms for the eris that would work with bluetooth tethering as GSB 2.8 does not work and it just reboots my phone when I attempt it. So if anyone knows an eris rom that would tether through bluetooth that would be great. Also I dont want to root my Xoom as its still new and has the latest android software.

well where is your tethering failing, because I'm running GSB 2.8 as well but I have no problem bluetooth tethering, I'm no beast with this ****, but what is your overclock set to? idk if your just getting a freeze and reboot that could be it
Ok after flashing just about every rom that is available for the eris i have found no real answer why my phone crashes and reboots when tethering via bluetooth I know on the hero(sprint) it works and they have no problem and our phone is the exact same thing internally so now im stumped.

Hey so I was wondering if you got this problem figured out because I'm in the exact same boat
eris and bluetooth tethering
Not sure if this is resolved, sorry for the duplicate post if it is. I was working on this same issue and came across this older thread. I am using my Eris with gsb3.6 and pdanet tablet. This worked fine for me.

Wifi tethering in infrastructure mode EDIT: SOLUTION FOUND !

First off I would like to say I know this has prob been asked before and that there is a way you can just use the official 3g hotspot for verizon for free but my main question is will there be a kernel or is there a kernel that currently supports the infrastructure mode on wifi tether and will the new source code that was recently released by Samsung help devs maybe release a modified kernel that will provide infrastructure mode? The reason why I ask is because I really badly need this feature to happen and I know I can't rush anything or anyone but can maybe switch phones in the meantime to my incredible or maybe just perform the hack for the free verizon 3g tethering. Thanks again for any help I rarely ask questions and try not to but I think this is one of those I just have the urge to ask.
EDIT !!! : Guess another random user in another forum on the android development side reported to use this and guess what I can now use infrastructure on my Samsung Fascinate using wifi tether app ( I tested this with my ps3 which worked flawless). I must say like I did in my other post that the 3.0 experimental one (as of this post) is still very buggy it works but each time you stop the tethering ur phone will get a message from the app saying its not working and requires a reboot ( at least for me) but hey shows that the progress for this is coming along right !! Anyways here's the link for the wifi tether 3.0 in case anyone else needs help or google searches and leads that person to this thread ! This seems to be a problem with the both CM7 and MIUI at the moment. Barnacle works, but only provides ad hoc networking. That's fine if you want to tether a PC or laptop, but won't work for tethering an android tablet. At the moment, there is no off the shelf solution for tether tablets, though there is a method that involves rooting and altering the tablet so that it can work on ad hoc networks.
I've been able to tether using 3rd party wireless tether on both miui and cm7 with no problems
Im on latest MIUI and im using wireless tether 2.0.5-pre13 and it works flawlessly for me.
hi
haven't used the teather but does anyone know if the hotspot charges you or is it "free"
Same problem on Motorola Defy - MIUI
I have the same problem on Moto Defy with MIUI.
The "Wireless Tether for Root Users" was perfectly able to tether in infrastucture mode on Moto Defy with Eclair and Froyo.
In MIUI the same software id doesn't! It's just able to tether in ad-hoc mode.
Quite a big limitation.
Is there a solution to the AP tethering issue with MIUI. Did anyone get it to work?

[Q] Wifi Calling????

Ok the HTC Amaze came out on Monday, and wondering is there any way that some one can port the rom or the script that enable us to use the wifi calling??
Can't answer that but there's other solutions out there.
Googlevoice and GrooveIP do this.

Wifi Tethering Error, Any Ideas?

Hey, I've been meaning to post this for the Dev's to look at in this section. I have tried several ICS roms and I am noticing a universal issue... The wifi tethering feature doesn't seem to work. I was hoping that, since this is up in the dev section, that someone can take a look at the issue and see if there is a fix that can be incorporated. I am running clean rom 2.0 right now and I can get the Wifi Tether working if I activate wifi THEN activate the tether, but if I just do the tether, it goes to error. I used the Kernel that comes along with the Rom so I am not sure. If someone has it working perfectly fine, please don't post "It works fine for me", maybe tell us what you did to get it fixed, or a Rom that you found works best with it.
Thanks guys!

That's not the normal behavior. Scott even mentions in his ROM release notes that tethering should be setup using the Galaxy Nexus device profile with routing fix enabled and that's all. Are you using wifi tether 3.1-beta 11? If you aren't ... try upgrading. Also, try to keep in mind that there have been improvements to the ROM since 2.0 so you may also want to think about upgrading to 2.3.
Actually, I've been using the Verizon wifi hotspot lol.... Epic fail on my side?
