Hi,
I've just bought an Xperia Neo with 2.3.4 firmware.
I'd like to know if there's a way to disable Auto brightness dimming.
In the Settings--Display--> I can change the brightness level, but the auto-dimming remains active.
There's a way to disable it without rooting device?
Widgets and application from the market doesn't disable auto dimming...
Thnx to everyone!

i would also like to know this, it's so frustrating, when i accidentally put my finger over the sensor it dimms the screen so i can barely see a thing

Hi there, I've did try searching the forum regarding this issue. I still can't seem to turn the Auto Brightness Off, Whenever I set my brightness more than 0%(dim) the auto brightness just kicks in. Only at 0% and 100% then the auto brightness will not function. Only in values between 1% & 99%. Anybody had similar problems or have a fix to it?
I have the opposite problem, i don`t know how to use the auto brightness feature, there is no such option in my screen brightness settings..
Auto brightness was removed in the 2.1 update.
Hell knows why.
I want it to be removed I can't seem to disable my auto brightness, its always ON
I got my new SGS2 today
And i feel like the auto brightness is way to sensetive ,
Almost every time i change angle its change its brightness
Any suggestions?
I don't use auto brightness, just set it down low manually to save your battery.
I'm kinda having the opposite problem. No matter what the light is if I'm in auto-brightness mode it always sets the display to minimum. It's really annoying. Is there a way to calibrate that?
anyone?...

i Don't know about the auto brightness but if you uncheck the auto brightness and place your finger on the very top where the clock is and if you slide your finger towards the opposite direction it will change the brightness of the screen .....from left to right is more brightness and right to left is less....so i think you haven't checked the auto brightness thing that's why you are getting that problem.....
Has anyone come up with a way for me to calibrate auto brightness? Would like to use it, but it turns display all the way down, and I like it a bit brighter. I'm rooted but locked. Thanks
There's an app called Lux Auto Brightness that allows you to set brightness at various light levels, including min brightness. I use it on my phone and works very well. Not sure on a tablet but worth a try.
Hi guys
I tried searching everywhere for two apps and can't find anything. I think it would be really simple but since there is no app to do this I find it strange, or maybe people don't need this...
The first one is a way to turn the screen on when I receive a notification on my watch (when ambient mode is off). I have a ticwatch E and find it really annoying to not have an option for this. Does anyone have any solution?
The other is brightness control when in ambient mode. I would like to lower the brightness of the watch when it is in ambient mode. I know that there was an app to do this (swapp true brightness or something like this) but it no longer works. Does anyone know one that works?
I found it is annoying too, I own a Ticwatch S and I want to turn off the Ambient light too but it can't pop up notification on screen after turning it off , also I wanted to turn down the brightness of the Ambient light because it make burn in on my screen after 4 month didn't change watch face
Is it somehow possible to disable auto brightness for the always on display (without root preferably)?
I'm kinda worried about OLED burn-ins in the long run and when my phone lies on my desk below/near my desk lamp, the AoD brightness turns way up.
I'd like to keep it on very low levels permanently though.
Is there anything I can do with adb or am I just blind and missing a hidden setting somewhere?
Thanks in advance!
