[Q] Notifications by email domain? - HTC EVO 3D

I get "pages" sent to my phone using an automated system that send the message by SMS. These messages come into my phone from an email address. The biggest problem that I run into is that the email address is different for each message.
I need to be able to set a different notification tone for these messages than my other messages, so that I can be alerted as soon as I get these, where my regular texts will usually wait until I get a few minutes to look at them.
Theses messages will come from [email protected]. The number of the alert will be different in each message. If they all came from the same address, this would be a simple thing, and I would already have it done.
So my question is, does anyone know of any way that I can add a contact or any other means of differentiating these messages using the domain name of the email address?

Threading Issues in Messages

When I open Messages and am in the All messages folder literally all messages are appearing under one or two conversations.
e.g.
User A sends me an SMS.. all further messages appear under User A..
User B sends me an SMS.. all further messages appear under User B..
User C sends me an SMS.. all further messages appear under User B... and so on.
the problem extends into replies as well.. b/c the messages to User C are grouped under User B.. any reply to User C ends up being sent to User B.
I have made few modifications to my stock ROM.. certainly haven't been fiddling around with the Messages app so this behaviour is quite odd.
Messages Version number is: 2.0.0082.47214 release-keys
Wondering if anyone else seen this problem?

Same problem
Hey Mills I have the same issue and i posted a similar post called "SMS Grouping" in the forums but no replies yet. I thought i was having the problem bc i sync'd with outlook but I removed all my contacts and moved them to google. That still didnt work. I use T-Mobile USA and the funny thing is the only messages that the only SMS that to not thread with all my other are my 404 alerts for weather and horoscope. I hope some one can help I'm sure we are not the only 2 with this problem. Ill keep you updated is i discover anything

[Q] email question

I have rules setup in my email sorting my mail into my cabinet, My problem is I don't get an alert when i get an email unless it goes to my inbox directly. Does anyone know how to have it alert me when it goes directly to my cabinet folders??

[Q]Any reason why my incoming and outgoing texts are in separate threads?

For some reason my incoming and outgoing text messages for some individuals are being split up into separate threads. Even if I send from the thread I am receiving messages in, they will appear in the other thread. This does not occur with most contacts. The "contact history" option in the contact will see the incoming messages, but if I click the text message icon from their phone number in that same contact (the only one they have), it will open to the outgoing message thread. This persists for those individuals after deleting the threads.
I'm on the OTA 2.3.4 update- not rooted or modified in any way.
I haven't been able to find any reference to this type of problem, so any help or insight would be appreciated.
Try checking your contact for duplicate entry(different name, same number or same name different number, etc). That was my issue back then when i was using a symbian based phone.

Blocking iPhone iChat messages from iPhone users

Is there a way to block all of the group messages that are sent from the iPhone iChat???? Like 8 of my friends have a iPhone so whenever they send a message to the group it comes to be from that person individually but with the heading
"[Subject: New Message]"
And I cannot block them or stop the notifications since I am in the group of the chat. Any suggestions besides asking them to not include me since they will just do so to annoy me lol
Sounds to me like its an MMS message - If I send an MMS message with no subject it comes across the same way.
Can they use the subject field would that help?

If they use change the subject field it won't help block the messages. Even if I select to not auto-receive the MMS messages I still get the notification and every message from the group. I wouldn't mind if they got sent to one entry and it was just a running chat message basically. But every time each contact messages the group I get a individual message from them. So if 8 people are in the Chat I get a message from each of the 8 every time they reply. Has no one else come across this yet?????????????
Seriously. So sick of that feature for every non-iPhone user.
There has to be a fix or a way to block these. You may receive 100 messages in one day, for me at least 100, from the group chat. very very very annoying! Any suggestions

Work phone synced to work email Outlook/Exchange

Hi
I have a Android phone and have it hooked with my workplace email account which uses Microsoft exchange 2007.
I am getting my emails through on the phone but the issue I have is in my outlook I have rules setup so if someone sends me and email who is part of my team i have rules setup so their emails go into their own seperate subfolder.
The issue is if i get an email from one of these collesgues where i have setup a rule i dont get a email message alert on my phone that i have received an email.
However if anyone sends me an email straight to my inbox i get an alert without no issue.
What's odd is we have a network monitoring tool and if that alerts and sends me an email I have again set up a rule to filter those messages to a different subfolder. I seem to get alerted on the phone for these emails which I have found very strange. If this sub folder works why don't I get them for the rest is my question?
I have rechecked my rules in outlook and can confirm they all set up exactly the same.
Is this setup incorrect or can I not receive emails which are in sub folders?
Is there a way to solve this, could an android app sort this as i am just using the native email app which comes with the Galaxy S3.
Thanks

There must be some differences between the rules or the folders. It is normal on an email client that if you have a rule to move an e-mail to another folder on arrival, it will do so without an alert. The only thing i can think of is that your colleagues' rules are "server" rules (run on server before e-mail gets to outlook) and the alert rule is client based (arrives on server, delivered to Outlook then rule runs in outlook)....
One thing to test is if you change the alerts folder to be one of your colleagues, do you stop getting notifications?
