Move Apps to Another Android Account - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm deleting a Google account due to massive trolling/spamming via email and Google+. All of my installed apps are free apps. So to make them appear in the Market again, do I need to back them up using MyBackup root (or some other app), factory reset the phone, and restore the apps? The only issue is I'm rooted with CWM... I have the new Google account linked to the phone, but I can't delete the old one, it says I have to factory reset.

Still no luck with this.

Once a factory reset is done , you can make a new Google Account , all you need to do is to backup everything using either MyBackup Root or Titanium

I did that. I'm on the new Google account, but the 100+ apps I restored aren't showing up under My Apps in the Market.

You might need to use Titanium Backup to restore the Market Links

Can I use the free version? Will it restore from the MyBackup root backup?

I tried installing and uninstalling some random app, which supposedly fixes this, and it didn't work. I tried clearing Market data and rebooting, still no luck.

You need to backup the app using Titanium Backup (latest version) , be it free or paid

Well I didn't do that initially. I used MyBackup root, because it's always worked. I'm restoring the data now, maybe that'll work.

Backup the apps backed up/restored with MyBackup root with Titanium free? I don't think that'll know anything about Market links.

I wouldn't go around bragging about that here in these forums. Piracy is bannable.

It can be restored via my backup root or titanium backup (I use backup root before). But for his problem, his system file is deleted, only apps are in sd. Unless you fully backup via backup root, then it will work after it restored

*sigh* You're wrong, again.
Titanium backup is free, and probably better than everything else.
It has a paid extension which adds stuff like hypershell and synching.
i would recommend you use ASTRO file manager and create a backup of apps and games on SD card. After flashing new ROM, you just need to reinstall apps and games from your SD card backup data.
To know how to create backup data and download Astro file manager checkout this link http://goo.gl/29ykK

App restore after data wipe

Hi everyone
Being the compulsive rom flasher that I am I flashed the first com rom from superclean right away. Somehow my apps were all backed up on google's servers and they restored without me taking any action. Today I flashed the new com rom and I wiped data as advised. How can I restore all the apps that google has backed up for me? Thank you in advance.

never heard of such a thing.... are you sure you wiped data the first time and not just cache and dalvik?
Google includes something called Googlebackuptransport.apk and what this does is when you log into your Google account for the first time, it syncs what you've installed before and starts downloading everything from the market. This only happens once when you first flash the rom from scratch

Yep, and this is a major PITA in my opinion. This is because unlike restoring apps through titanium backup, mybackup pro, or similar app, the google backup tries restoring all your apps at the same time instead of one right after the other. Seriously bogs down my phone and causes it to heat up.

I have read some of the developers recommending to not restore apps with titanium. I think that was in one of the superclean threads though. Would you say that it is safe to restore with titanium on the latest com rom?

I read not to restore SYSTEM DATA with Titanium Backup but it was my understanding that apps and their data were fine. I could be wrong.
Titanium Backup IS the way to go, just don't restore SYSTEM data.
Thank you ill give it a shot

Restoring from CWM

I tried restoring a backup of a stock ROM, but upon start up, it comes up with the tutorial setup to find it hasn't restored any of my applications, only my system settings. Can someone explain what the hell is happening?

By restoring a backup in CWM. It just doesn't seem to restore any applications.
Can't say what your problem is there, but it might be worth investing in titanium backup pro (batch restore saves a lot of time and effort). Hope you get your apps back.

I did read somewhere that Titanium backup does have some limitations when backing up / restoring system apps. Its best used with user apps.
So, there is no way to backup stock email settings?

You can use Titanium backup. But since stock email is a system app, things may not go as planned while restoring especially if the app version changes. If you look at TT backup, it shows the email app in red but does allow you to restore.

[Q] Backup/Restore

I am having apps that were installed using their APKs. And they are backed up by Titanium Backup Pro. Now if any of that apps gets a newer version and I need to install it by uninstalling the prev version first, will I be able to get the data restored back using Titanium? My confusion is whenever I uninstall an app will Titanium make its backup vanished as well?

No need for any backup unless you are doing factory reset.....Just install the new version and replace the old version if it prompts. You will not loose any data.

Had it done. Generally when a newer APK (Hopefully people in here know why me is using APKs with Google Play as well) of an app comes out if I click on the install button it just asks for permission to replace it. But there are some that mess it up. That is why I have to uninstall them first and then install the newer version APK. I have seen if I restore back the data, it is just fine
No issues.
Thanks.
