Hi everbody,
after updating my Galaxy Ace S5830 to XXKPH 2.3.4 my wireless is not longer working and if i try to use Kies nothing happens... i tried so much firmwares... factory reset, everything i was able to find... i just wanted to copy GingerReal Firmware to my SD-Card because this seems to be the only way of installation...
Maybe some off you know the Odin Files?
What do you think?
Use an sd card reader.

I have an Unlocked Samsung Ace, which was locked to Optus Australia earlier.
pda s5830xwks9
phone s5830xwks2
csc s5830oppks5
network lock off
network subset lock off
sp lock off
cp lock off
I just don't Optus app everywhere and running in background. Can I use a Generic Firmware ?
If yes can someone guide me or just provide links ?
I even tried to Root it with <upd_1 & AceGingerRoot>, and I can see Superuser icon, but Titanium Back up and BusyBox says my phone is not rooted.
get stock roms from sampro.pl or sammobile and flash it using odin
GUIDE
My ace is optus lock too and cant get root access

Which ROM? Do I have to look for a specific ROM for my phone( according to PDA or CSC of my phone) or any one that is Gingerbread 2.3.4 or 2.3.5
get ddkq6 that is unbranded firmware and stable one [2.3.4]
Dear WiseMan Amit,
I am sorry to ask again, did u see read these stats *(pda s5830xwks9_phone s5830xwks2_csc s5830oppks5) of my phone before suggesting? I dont want a brick.
And after flashing that Rom, Will my phone update with Kies itself?
BTW what does this PDA PHONE and CSC mean? Shouldn't I choose a Rom according to them?
I am sorry again for bothering you. But .

i saw your version
flashing will not brick phone if you flash 5830 roms with proper instruction which you can get in some sticky
offcourse your phone will be updated through kies but you will have to wait for update for that specific region [in this case india if ddkq6]
all GB roms on sammobile are flashable for you...
PDA CSC stuffs give you info about region , specific identifier for update etc stuff
i was also very much concerned when first flash phone with odin... read instuctions carefully and flash device specific roms only
you might not be able to get updates through kies as samsung delays updates between regions.. so most of guys flash through odin itself
Thanx really a lot mate.
but I could only find DDKQ5. not 6
And as I am not able to root my phone, how do I back up my current Rom?
I couldnt resist and flashed S5830XWKS9_S5830XWKS2_S5830VGFKS1_HOME.tar.md5
Everything working but I have got Virgin Mobile shortcuts and Jeux game. Cant uninstall it.

It's available if you SEARCH in this forum
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.
I was tempted to flash Russian 2.3.6 and I did it successfully. Cleared cache and factory reset and now even Kies accepts it and will update when available.
It is far better. I have lots of Ram available now.

http://droidangel.blogspot.com/2011/06/guide-how-to-flash-updateupgrade.html
and remember to run odin as administrator if you are using windows 7 or vista.. and also check some youtube videos..
go to this site to download the appropriate firmware..
http://www.sammobile.com/
okay cheers mate ill look into that i think i remember that programe when i flashed my old jet.
Well atleast one good has come from this i can update to a newer android version from 2.3.3 lol.
i'll get back to you when i have done it or if i need any more help, cheers.
Search Odin details in xda forums. You have to install odin in your computer. Download the needed ROM which is Odin supported in computer itself. Then start the phone in downloading mode instead of recovery mode. You can fix it very easily . But please read the steps for flashing ROM using odin

Just google the 2.3.5 or 2.3.7 update, whichever is latest, and it should give you the guide to flash it and everything step by step.
Hi Everyone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2
Kernal WXLP4 optus firmware.
I rooted the phone and stupidly let my son play with it and he has deleted important firmware apps such as Touch whiz and other things that are making my phone almost unusable.
Unfortunately there is no firmware repair on kies so i was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what to do. I did a factory reset and it does not restore these important firmware files unfortunately.
Any help would be great.

Hi,
there is probably problem with your CSC. You should have CSC corresponding to your region/country and your operator. I had the same problem and what I had to do was reset my CSC back to original. There are several threads relevant to this topic.
CSC can be reset using *#272*IMEI#, but maybe you will have to find and flash ROM containing your CSC to be able to do this.
you cant use kies when youre on a custom rom as far as i know. Only works with stock samsung firmware
Kies is a Stock Samsung ROM update tool. Therefore using any custom rom besides stock won't work with kies.
I have flashed a rooted stock tom in Samsung galaxy s3 mini and now I can't connect my phone with kids. I wanted to ask the benefits of kies and how I can use it again.
Thanks in advance.
Anyone answer
kies is samsung's own proprietary software to be used for backing up your data,, contacts etc.. And to upgrade your firmware whenever Samsung releases newer version of Android...

Kies before connecting whether the device status is genuine or not. Since you have already rooted and installed custom ROM , kies will not recognize your device.
Kies makes it easy to transfer / backup your media files, contacts, e.t.c.
You need to install official firmware for your device in case you want it to be recognized via Kies. You can refer sammobile.com for more details.

I don't have a custom rom I have the stock one rooted. But I read that I can use kies only if I have a rom from my country. Where can I find this rom? If I root this rom by flashing superSU will kies be available?
Thanks.

After Rooting Kies will not recognize your device. You can find the firmware for your country from sammobile.com and it will be genuine samsung firmware.:victory:
