It`s very important, that you make a Backup of your System Apps, before you play around with/delete Them. A very easy Way, in my Opinion, is to use the Flashtool. get it here:
http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
CREDITS for this great Flashtool goes to: Bin4ry and Androxyde
Now root your Device by using this Guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10881307&postcount=5
(you`ll find also Guides for:clean SE Junk/ Costumize/ Optimize there)
CREDITS for this guide go to: Crowds
Now you should see this: (see the first attached Pic)
1. get SU rights:
2. press under Advanced -> Backup System Apps
well done! you juste have backuped your System Apps
3.To flash them all again, press APK Installer, select the Source Folder, flash.
if you need only some apk`s, you`ll find them in the Folder: Flashtool-> custom-> apps_saved
this works with deodexed and odexed ROMS !!!
if you Backup your system Apps from a Odexed Rom,
the apk AND the odex file will be saved. (see second attached Pic)
if you don`t know what deodexed/odexed means, here a short explenation from ranjan.alva (Thank him):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21366939&postcount=1
And if the rom is Odexed?
Great tip. I usually use SystemApp Remover or Titanium Backup. Will try this.
@ ChavitoArg
I think, you should backup your System Apps when you are the next Time on Original SE. Then you will have ALL Apk's .

nice! thx for the tip, I hated to use titanium backup, too slow... as a regular rom flasher its useful to know this trick, thx again

You did not understand what i say, you know what is odexed?
@ Chavito Arg
I know what odexed means my friend and if i didn`t, we live in a World with Google and Wikipedia . But i have really no experience on this issue. So report us of your knowledge.

If a rom is odexed, like MiniCM. the system apps are EXAMPLEAPP.apk and EXAMPLEAPP.odex , has two files for each app. and the odex file is heavier than the apk, if you delete just the apk you are noth deleting the odex file, and no saving any space. I hope you understand me
get it chavito ...
Edit:
this works also with odexed ROMS !!!
if you Backup your system Apps from a Odexed Rom,
the apk AND the odex file will be saved. (see attached Pic)

Does that mean you don't know where flashtool is actually installed on your system?
If you know in which folder Flashtool is located you should still have a /custom subfolder with an /apps_saved folder in there.
A simple search for custom on your filesystem may already yield the correct folder.

ok, got it! under mac it is saved within the flashtool.app itself- you get access via "show package contents" and eventually you will find a folder according to your build which contains all the .apk etc.

I have some bloatware i wanna remove, like 'Lets golf hd, 'fun&downloads' and a couple of more.
But it seems like i Titanium backup cant find the apk's. I run ICS 4.0.4 rooted and unlocked bootloader, and use explorer to system dir, looking through 'system/app' No apk's
But if i look on 'vendor/app' i see the apk's there. So i copied the apk's to 'system/app', but no luck
What is wrong here?

Thanks, helped a little bit. But not totally. Some progs are back after reboot. And if i wanna restore them and place them on SD they stop working.
But Still i wonder what is wrong here? Why is it like this? Some screw up from Android Dev? Or Sony?
And i did search, for 2 whole days before i made this post, google, xda, sony forum.
Still your suggestion did not show up in my searches.
But do u suggest we shall not post if our searches does not reach what other ppl find?
XDA is kinda big, there is a lot answers, ..and questions
So for your information, i will still post questions in the Neo section if i do not find it in the Neo section But i promise i will not post it in the ARC section
And to the case: The thread u suggested worked, to a limit. not 100% for my needs.
But for other with a Neo like me, that wanna go through this, please try the link codephus suggested: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26758586#post26758586
Also the App can be found in google play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...leanup.Inteks.org&feature=search_result&hl=en
Sony Neo and ICS 4..4 are easy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26980804&postcount=3
well i was trying to encourage others towards doing a through search before they post
anyway, this might sound stupid and you might tried it before but: have you tried flashing 4.0.4 ftf without the "vendor.sin"?

Remove bloatware
Hi @all!
I'm running Android 4.0.4 rooted on locked bootloader Xperia Neo.
Don't know what's the matter but it seems that bloatware in /system/vendor/app/ (such as 'Fun & Downloads', 'Let's Golf', etc) cannot be deleted.
I tried to remove those packages from SManager, Es Explorer and Root Uninstaller with root permission but they just refuse (it gives an error).
Any idea?? How did you remove them and why I cannot?
Tnx a lot!

Ok guys. It might be just my phone.
I'm root and the partition is mounted with R/W permissions and yet it doesn't permit the files to be deleted. It just says that they cannot be deleted.
I tried with several file managers, such as SManager or ES File Explorer.
I've been wanting to try the kitchen out to see if I can try deodexing and zipaligning etc on the stock touchwiz ROM I'm running.
Do you think it would work? (despite it being discontinued)
yes it works still, works on ics & jellybean (i use it myself to deodex and zipalign)

Yes dxixda kitchen works but you will need to add another file with gs3 parameters in the edify_defs folder with name m0..still the updater-script does not work . It gives me errors in the installing boot.img stage.. . Anyways you can use the kitchen to create your rom and then package your rom manually using updater-script and update-binary from some other working rom.. Then sign it..
If you or anyone finds a solution to that problem do let us know..

Deodexing will work just fine..no probs..some times you might get an error with one or two apps..just use the option to deodex a single app and you will be good to go..
:good:
Edit:
Most important change the api level to 16 before deodexing..
just make a copy of your zipped rom, drop it into the working folder, deodex the files you want to and then pull those files out of the working folder and drop them into the original rom zip folder (minus the original odexed files)
no need to change anything, no need to drop new files in or mess with update script
as you will use your existing update script/meta inf folder blah blah blah, it means you can say yes to the mods the kitchen wants to make as you will only be taking the deodexed files from there, nothing else
(does that make sense? - im guessing you will ignore this anyway like my previous post))

Sorry for dragging out an old thread but I thought I would have a go with this. I have the kitchen installed, I have put I9300XXDLI5_I9300OXADLI5_I9300XXDLI5_BTU.zip in the original_update and have the m0 file in tools/edify_defs
I then try and extract the ROM but I get an error Error: No system folder found!

Can't I start with the ODIN file of the leaks? It must have a system image in it? Where do you start with this? I thought a whole flashable ROM would be ideal.

Oh yeah, I forgot, the system.img must be coverted from yaffs img to an ext4 file. I believe the utility is called ext2fs (or something like it)
Dsixda's tool should provide that program anyhow.
Well I unzipped the ROM and untarred the md5 and then it at least got me started. I am now just working out what I can do and what I need to get. Thanks for your help.

Greetings,
This is my first thread and post here at this community.
I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII with the beta firmware I9300XXELK4_I9300OJKELK5_ILO. I've read at this forum about an APK that can be used to add more programs to the native MutiWindow View that this FW has. At the same topic it is written that you have to use some odexe or deodexe.
Actually i dont know what is odexe or deodexe and i dont know how to install it on my device.
Can someone please help me and guide about how to install it properly.
Thank you very much!

If you did flash the original leak it will be most likely odexed (as mine is), deodext are usually all the custom roms (stock and others) as it is easier for modifications. You can also Google and will find a lot of explanations.

You don't have to extract the file, you have to flash the attached file. Users reported that works, so don't think there is something wrong.
I know that there is a file named De-Bloater!!! inside the zip that is empty but since you don't have to install but uninstall apps i think the important file in this case is the META-INF one.

Use root explorer. Copy both files in system/app. Paste there. Then search for the files and set correct permission. I just did that. And it worked fine once you reboot the device.
