So a buddy of mine at sprint had a customer put a lock screen on the phone. Is there anyway to bipass this?
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
Go into settings and go to security. Does he know the password or code?
It's locked outta the phone. Can't get into it to do anything
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
Then your going to need to do the RSd update on it erase the the lock on it.
I figured.

its not that hard at all. just use a 32bit os atleast. 64bit os sucks trying to get it to work. then just aio root and your good lol
Boot into recovery and wipe date. Works with stock recovery too. Idk about the phonton but it has worked on my last 6 androids that were different makes and models.

Hmmm.....done it numerous times off my 64bit laptop without any issues. First time every time. Think as long as peeps are using the correct drivers it should be a non-issue.
I'm on a 64 bit OS too and never have any issues.

If you're not familiar with the "lather/rinse/repeat" line....I cannot help you, you are beyond my abilities to provide assistance.
Thank you, drive thru please.
I was trying to install something in BSR and ended up seeing what all the settings did. Now I realize this was a VERY bad idea. My phone only turns on when connected to the charger or pc. I cannot get into RSD to SBF...that is like all I know how to do in case of emergencies. Anyways I can press up for fastboot or down for nvflash...both of which I have no idea how to work and stuff. Plus all I have found on nvflash is with tablets! Is there a way to get out of this or do I need to play dumb and hope I can get a new phone at VZW? Thanks for trying to help in advance...I dont even have the 10 posts to ask in the development forum.
This forum is fine. Fastboot is used to flash. I'm sure since you van get into fastboot there is something you can do. I don't know enough about it to help too much though. Can you get into adb?

Most likely not. Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge than I drops in. What exactly did you do in the recovery? Were you formatting partitions?

Hey every one. My laptop and desktop decided to crap out at the same time. So I was wondering if there is a way for me to unlock the photon via the hd dock or via the phone without needing a pc. I'm already rooted but it seems pointless to have root if I can't even flash roms. On my Evo 4g I was a flashaholic. So please any insight would be greatly apreciated.

no, cause you need to sbf the derpunklock.sbf and then you still need to issue the unlock commands thru commands prompt(moto-fastboot unlock)

you need a pc to be able to root this phone unfortunately
maybe go to a friends and do it quickly, doesnt take to long
I figured. Always good to ask though. The last phone i had was pre-rooted and rom'd so that made things easy. (it was a skyrocket i got from someone from craigslist)

I have question about using casual to root and unlock bootloader. After a few trys I was able to root but no success in unlocking bootloader. Ive followed the instructions and watched the YouTube video and nothing. My question is did I get bad download or did Verizon pull another fast one? Or is it simply triail and error.

It may be helpful to say any errors or where it's failing. Also what method are you using? Are you sure it's the newest method by Adam? There are a lot of reasons you may be failing.

You must not be following directions. There is even a video to guide you through it. Droidstyle's guide works flawless.

I just successfully used Adam's method. It works great. Had to reinstall the drivers before it worked, but other than that flawless. Check out pg 65-66 of his thread for more details.
If you find this hard to unlock, thank god you didn't own a thunderbolt that took near a half hour entering command line prmpts to unlock. Or the rezound that you had to short circuit with a wire in a precise time to unlock.
This phone was cake in comparison.
