You can't just install the language files you get in Crowdin. You have to unpack the rom, add the files to each app/package, repack the rom, and flash it. It's no easy task for a newbie, i had to learn all that by myself as, like you, wanted MIUI in my native language (spanish) ...
Now that i know how to do it, i add spanish language on each weekly release.
Anyway, you shouldn't get into such fuss... there are several multilanguage miui releases available...

[Q] Russian ROM

Hey there community! Since the search button didn't really make me happy returning with 0 results I'm about to ask a question about a custom Dell Streak ROM supporting Russian language by default. Which base ROM build is it supposed to contain: EU or any other release. I'd appreciate if you guys who use any custom ROM check whether you have Russian laguage support on your current ROM and reply here.
Thanks in advance <3
Attached screencap is from BB351. I have no idea if one of the languages is Russian.
Why by default?
Put framework and apk's from 351 to any custom ROM - that should do it.
MoreLocale should help you also on any rom to put basic support for any language.

I believe that most custom ROMs are based on 354, which has limited language support. See this discussion. I believe that you can flash the 351 framework from the first post of that thread to either StreakDroid or SimpleStreak and it will work. I am running stock 351.
Edit: make sure you have a backup!

[Q] How to add Swype language (French Canadian)

Although I've been creeping the forums for a while now this is my first post!!!
I recently flashed my SII to the insanity mod (054) and I love it.
However, I noticed my Swype language (French Canadian) was no longer available to use! I've searched the forums and the almighty google to no avail.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get the language back without reflashing to another rom?
Thanks ahead!
Did you install the Swype beta? Download the Americas version and it has French Canadian

I tried going through that process through the Swype website. It says "Swype beta is not available for models with Swype pre-installed" or something along those lines.
I downloaded this swype.apk: swype-v3269235406-apk-all-resolutions
It says it's multi-language but when I installed it I could still only use EN-US... Any ideas?
OK ! Got it to work. I went all the way to making my own .apk but that didn't work...
You were right, the Beta works. However you have to uninstall the Swype you already (I used Titanium backup to uninstall it).
The problem I had was that once I did that, I couldn't enter the e-mail/password/code to even install swype. I had to download another keyboard in order to install Swype beta.
Hope this helps other people that have had the same problem.

Actually the new version in beta.swype.com is better than the stock version...
I'm not sure whether you can use stock swype in CM7.2 but I'm giving the link of apk(it's from deodexed stock rom), copy it into system/app and change the permissions and reboot.
Hope it works

Thank you my brother.
I want old version of swype because:
The new version of swype is not useful like the old one (maybe just for turkish language). it didn't find many words which i gestured. and new swype's dictionary is limited so it doesn't include many word.
So the old version is better than it for turkish.
Thank you again.
I'm trying...

I don't know all the differences but it is not same as the Nitin's miui; it includes something from Hpa and it includes volume plus.
I can't read Korean so i can't understand all the differences.
Testing.
Would you please mirror it to another file sharing server?
I can't access to 4shared

Yes,also the translation is perfect.
You could try editing build.prop i changed the entries ending in.
ko to en
KR to EN
I got this info from the another thread here, but cannot remember which one.
I'm guessing here but you could try US and us.
I have know idea if it will work.

Be sure,it will work.I tried these settings many times.
Seems to work fine. A few cool apps have been added. Overall looks nice.
English Language
This Rom already have EN language, Setting > System > Input and Language, certainly by Korean language in the firstboot. I don't know Korean but I remember position of setting button when I set up my DS.
This Rom's slower than the first 2.2.40 MIUI rom and non support Unicode font
I am running this since last night and extended MIUI settings app works. Battery life is perhaps the best I have seen on any of the MIUI versions I have used on my Streak so far....

Nice rom
Well, a short review after clean install of this ROM
FIXED/ENHANCEMENTS:
1) wifi issues
2) app drawer works
3) clear voice however loudness bug still exists
4) superSU instead of SU
5) Keyboard skin and customization
Bugs/broken:
1) DND mode force closes
2) Music player lyrics
3) LED notification still buggy
4) app drawer can't be enabled on boot
5) xiaomi passport backup still doesn't work
6) localization issues, not many languages supported
7) battery life seems to be better but may show different result after calibration
End result: uninstalled after 6 hrs of use, reverting to fake CM9

[Q] What gapps fit this ROM?

Hi.
I'm about to root my Galaxy S I9100 with one of these roms, but I'm not sure about what gapps I have to get for it? I mean is it gapps for android 4.2.2 or 4.3?
http: // www . get . cm/?device=i9100&type=RC (remove spaces, as I'm not allowed to submit url's)
I prefer release candidate builds, as I want my phone to be stable.
One extra question. When installing the custom rom, will I be able to select my own language? (Danish)
Thank you for taking time to answer my questions.
If you're installing 10.1.RC3, then that's android 4.2.2. From that you should be able to tell yourself which gapps you need
On the install screen after the rom has been flashed, yes there is a list of languages available. I can't guarantee 100% about Danish as I don't speak it... The list of languages is long so I imagine it's an option

Hello Hopper.
Thank you for a fast reply. I hope the language is available, or I will have to disable spell checking in sms / email.
BTW: Are gapps mandatory, or can I just go to market and select what I need?
Have a nice day.

No problem mate I would be very surprised if it's not available. They're technically not mandatory, however you won't have a play store if you don't flash gapps. The other thing is that flashing ROM only won't give you an installer setup wizard. Flashing gapps will give you the wizard and allow you to pick a language. Much better off to flash them :good:
As a side note, thank you for the courteous way you have been posting. Very nice to read, and a pleasure to help. Keep it up That's the reason I have hit the thanks button for you. Don't do it for me now (i.e. I'm not asking for your thanks), but you may like to use that button when someone helps you

OK, better install gapps then, seems too much trouble if not doing so.
I guess the language is there, it is in the stock rom, so I guess they didn't use time removing it.
Thx again.
