Modern Combat 2 for Moto Electrify - Motorola Photon 4G

Hey i noticed that the Motorola Electrify has Modern Combat 2, anyone know the build.prop for the Electrify as it's pretty much the exact duplicate of the photon? I think the game should work fine as the resolution is the same, i know when putting in the droid x2 build.prop for the game that the blood spatter is not the right resolution and the aim down sights doesn't register hits, i think using the electrify build.prop should fix that issue.
Anyone have it...?
note: the electrify model is mb853 couldn't find the apk version of the game either?

Are you guys getting these through the market or do you have to go on their website?
They are purchased through the gameloft site, not the market
However, keep a copy of the downloaded files. I did a factory reset and the web site doesn't list them as part of my downloads. Best to buy games from the market, I guess. Gameloft wants a bit more info than my time is worth, or no doubt I could get it fixed.

Since they don't have an option for AT&T, what carrier do you select when you buy the game from the web site? Or does it matter? thanks
@NFHimself modern combat doesnt work from me, i got a link from the gameloft supoort service, since the game just closes after i skip the video
Bought black pegasus from website. Worked for me. Modern combats in the market now

Also noticed on the website half the time it says my phone not supported and the rest of time list a few games. Im rooted also not sure if that matters at website but needed to sideload the downloads from website.

they send me aother link, that one worked ^^

After messing with me phone a bit, the whole re download part of gameloft is screwy for my purchases, I don't know what firmware I bought what with, and the site detects your phone to determine what games you are allowed to get. Not sure if it's all Gameloft's fault since they had a 2 for 1 sale on 3 games that I used twice, so the site kept telling me to download a free game I already had installed, they them updated the website. Also Nova refuses to download content, support sent me a link for a new download, no diff. I lost let's golf 2 altogether, support ignores me on that one. Annoying, I would stay away from any games that are not from the market if you are into changing firmware/themes/wallpaper/display brightness, OK, maybe not the last 2. And backup whatever you get, however restoring the data doesn't guarantee that the game will use it. It's hit or miss with Gameloft. Makes me want to go to pirate bay to get copies of my purchased games. Not that I have been playing any of them lately, lol.
The NVIDIA pinball game is interesting, paper 3d glasses support.
Cheers!
Ok i am a little confused here. When i got to the site on my phone it says it isnt supported. When i go through the browser, there arent any ATT phones listed ( i assume its because they block sideloading). Can i just choose tmobile, download the apk, sideload it on my phone, and it work? Really wanting dungeon hunter 2. Has anyone had success w/ downloading from the above method?
hi im new here (been creeping as anonymous for a week now lol)
Might anyone have experience with gameloft apk files working on the atrix?
I use sideload wonder machine to install them to my phone
but they all require additional download when i open the app
that usually fails (dungeon hunter 2, eternal legacy, nova)
or it completes and then theres missing pictures all over, like white and the game crashes after a bit.
ive found some files that contains both the apk and a zip folder.
im assuming the zip is for the "additional download" but i have no idea how to install them.
solutions anyone?

lol, i used SWM too. works awesomely.
umm, also had the install freeze glitch. it only freezes when your phone goes into sleep mode or when you try to multitask while its installing.
solution is to go into settings, disable the screen timeout so the screen doesnt turn off (and so your phone doesnt autosleep) and just leave your phone plugged into the wall socket while downloading over wifi. worked for me.
currently trying gt racing. it looks good, but lots of jaggies. antialiasing would be nice, but given our atrix's higher resolution, i dont think it would have enough grunt to run AA (ignoring the fact that tegra 2 doesnt seem to do AA).
sadly, the only way i have found to get any games working is through mobilism (bad word?). i guess if they want my money, they'll open up to att now that the 3rd party sources is open. or is that when official 2.3.4 comes out? idk, it's whatever, the atrix has a very limited amount of gameloft choices anyways. they probably have versions for our phones, but the atrix is kinda unique in it's design. does anybody else know of a non-att, qvga, tegra device? when one does land or maybe when ginger lands officially we'll get versions for our phone made available.
Asphalt 6 runs very well. And dungeon hunter 2 works too. I've bought Nova too once but I gave up the idea of installing it because the gameloft's politic on purchases sucks.
And I much prefer my emulators! I have a bunch of em working smoothly you should try fpse, it's great!

Johansson,
how did you get Asphal 6 to run? When i tried installing the tree's are black. In 3D terms alpha channels in textures aren't rendered correctly. =\
Which version of dungeon hunter did you use?

Atrix 2 Webtop

Has anyone played with the updated version of webtop on the ATRIX 2. Its very smooth and looks a hell of a lot better then the current version we are using. Been trying to figure out if there is a way to update our current version.
From everything I've seen really it's no different Webtop WT-1.2.0-160 on the MoPho. It's Avant dock on the bottom, LXDE dock on top and still just eyecandy and fail. Moto STILL has no clue as to what the webtop phones can do. For all the hassle of trying to get the Atrix 2 webtop to work on the MoPho you are better off unchaining webtop all together and turning it into a REAL desktop environment.
Do you have a copy of their webtop partition? Might be as simple as pushing it to ours.
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
That I don't, I will see if my friend will allow me to get a hold of his phone but I doubt he will
Im not sure if I'm calling it the right thing, but on the ATRIX 2 the home screens transitions a lot smoother and I thought the glare over the widgets was dope too
The webtop drivers aren't the same. The Atrix 2 has a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, TI OMAP 4430 chipset vs the Tegra 2. It would require source for both but the Atrix 2 is more of a step down from the MoPho anyways and isn't worth the effort.
The launcher is a different matter. That could very well be a drag and drop with minimal changes to get it to work.

Need help with the touchscreen!

Hello everyone!
I'm a huge Atrix 4G fan but I can't play the most games with it because the touchscreen is awefull for gamers (like me).
I was so happy that RG announced that GTA 3 would be developed on Atrix too and I thought they could handle the disadvantage of the Atrix (the "raindrop" touchscreen issue) but I thinked wrong.
GTA 3 is awesome but the touchscreen loose at the most important moments my fingers and I have to restart the missions again and again for many times.
But I heard about a fix for fearless people (means it's dangerously to do that) and I hope that somebody knows more about that!
I would be really thankfully if someone could help me!
Otherwise I will sell my Atrix because I don't need a phone where I can't play my favorite games... I :-[

Why are so many games not rezound Compatible?

I dont get it? A ton of EA games = no go; All the gameloft games (now .99) = no go....Its odd
All I can figure is they are not compatible with the HD screen.
~John
I assume it's due to the higher resolution screen and them not having tested/debugged yet, but that's just my guess.
That was my hunch but they are GNex compatible and the difference isnt that great in terms of pixels....its weird
Hm... I hope I can play Peggle when I open the box with my new Rezound tonight

Rezound's 341 ppi vs Gnex's 315 ppi. http://www.slashgear.com/galaxy-nexus-has-curved-pentile-oled-display-21189996/ interesting read.
PowerVR vs Adreno
android fragmentation? :/
i'm sure its easier to port from ipod/ipad since they are powervr gpu's
I doubt it's the kind GPU that is the problem (after all the games are written to an API, not to a particular model of GPU!). I have a feeling they all added support for 1184x720 for the GNex, and never added 1280x720 for the Rezound. Since on the GNex, the software buttons steal 96 pixels.
I agree that it's probably a screen resolution problem. Games that work on the thunderbolt don't work...

Games that work fine in my Droid Charge don't work either.

a lot of the new games have cpu architecture requirements. gameloft's support for the galaxy nexus and not the rezound has to do with the fact that it runs on an nvidia processor. the gnex has an older gpu with plenty of proprietary files and source code which makes it easy to develop for.

So is there anything that we can do to get our phones supported?
It's probably because they're tablet optimized. The Nexus is running ICS, which is for both phones and tablets, so it makes sense that it would get them all.
Edit: I have an ICS rom now, and still can't get these games, so it's not that. Nevermind.
Peggle plays swimmingly!
The EA Scrabble game, on the other hand....
Anyone find a build.prop edit that actually works? I've tried a couple of modifications tonight but none of them worked. I would imagine if there is a workable build.prod we should be able to download and play till our hearts explode. That is not to say the resolution will be spot on, but it should work! But alas, it is not. Ideas?
on my Inc, i did the build prop from the galaxy s 2 and it found gameloft games fine and downloaded and even played them... so i played modern combat 3 on the Inc tonight... yeah it was a little slow, but i bet this phone couldbrock it. either way, I bought it because it was cheap and hopefully soon the rezound will be supported.

When will games be compatible with the Razr?

I'm kind of thrown off that a large portion of games, seeming to be the premium ones, aren't available on the Razr.
The phone obviously runs gingerbread and the hardware isn't that new? What's the usual time table for games and apps gaining compatibility with new android phones?

GTA 3 was updated to support the razr last week.
Apply the high setting file here on XDA and you get better fps with MUCH prettier graphics.
Sentinel 3 works great at "HD" mode.
Most of the 3D games I tried work great, was one robot shooter thingy that lagged, but I blame the coders for that.
I pretty much purchased every single 10 cent game during the sale, and all of them worked fine.
I'm a bit annoyed by this too. I was hopeing to get access to Gameloft and EA Games entire library, but instead I'm left with only a few. I didn't ditch Symbian for this lol.

Must be something regional.
I have these from EA:
Worms
NFS Shift
Sims 3
Tetris
SPY Mouse
FIFA 10
Sim City
Bejeweled
Dead Space
Plants vs Zombies
NFS Hot Pursuit
And some more.
From Gameloft I have:
Ass Creed
Tintin
Texas holdem
Cowboys and Aliens
Immortals
Uno
Waldo
Diamond Twister 2
Asphalt
Driver SF
And some small games more.
Yeah I was really looking forward to playing order and chaos on my razr. Not compatible though. That's kind of a joke.

I wonder if shadow gun is any good...
Shadow Gun works fine but the list of games that we can't even purchase is far to big. Where are the Modern Combat games? Madden? Tiger and a bunch of other awesome games I have been told to try but aren't available.
Is this normal for Android? Does the Resound and Galaxy S2 devices face the same issue?

The Galaxy S2 series has some issues with games. HTC phones seem to play everything I've tried just fine though.
Basically the current (Blur) build has to be approved by Google. That's the response I got from the android team when I emailed them.

They're all variations of OMAP hardware, which is more or less universal, the devs pretty much only need to add a string where it says razr compatible.
Part lazy devs, part slow updates to market.

Is there anything we can do to sort of elbow our way into playing the games? On some of the Gameloft game's comments, I read of users basically spoofing their phone's model, to get the games to run. Is there any way we could do the same? I'm absolutely /dying/ to play Order & Chaos with a friend, and it's disheartening to see the devs have so little interest in bringing the game to such a popular device. I bought this phone because of it's processing power, so the fact that there are so few good games available is really depressing.
I am playing Order and Chaos on my Droid Razr with mutlisampling at 1.4ghz.
1. Find the file build.prop in /system. You will need root access and a file manager like ES File explorer to edit this file. Open the file in any text editor and change these values. ***If you are having trouble at this point google how to edit build.prop file or something...***
ro.product.board=solana
ro.product.device=cdma_solana
ro.product.model=DROID3
ro.product.name=solana_vzw
Reboot
2. Go into the android market or Gameloft's website, find your desired game and install it. ***I Found that the phone becomes very buggy at this point. My fix was to make the screen time out never, turn off data, and turn off auto rotate screen. You may not find this necessary.***
3. Once you have your game installed and working properly (make sure you have ran the game and downloaded any additional data required to play), open your build.prop file one more time and change the values back.
ro.product.board=spyder
ro.product.device=cdma_spyder
ro.product.model=DROID RAZR
ro.product.name=spyder_vzw
Reboot
Voila! Game should still work and your phone should work great.
Ummm quick question, how did you manage to OC to 1.4ghz? Any links?
Secondly, Couldnt we use some kind of market enabler instead of changing the Phone's info (name, model etc)

Thank you so much, I will definitely be trying this tomorrow. I've only two questions left:
1.) How did you purchase the game? It won't let me...
2.) Will it still let you connect to their servers? Is there anyway I could test the game first to make sure it works, before I invest in it?
I am a n00b and this forum wont let me post links. This is just what worked for me.
To overclock go to droidrzr.com and search for a thread named overclocking your droid razr. Some people have reported stable at 1.8 ghz

OK so I just found a safer faster easier way to do this. Should work with any incompatible game. I posted a guide explaining it. I can't post links yet but you should find it easy in a search for odder and chaos.
