Hello All.
I am a bit new to lg - p500
I installed custom roms and kernels like francos kernel and i used valid combinations for all..Still i have touchscreen bug (lag)..
Help me fixit.
Touch screen bug means ?? Btw Which rom?? & if laggy...change ur cpu frequency to 480/729 smartass v2
Sent from my HTC-desire using xda premium
I'm using mik's CM7 port 6.5.8 and latest franco's gbs kernel modified by fserve.
The touch lag is really much reduced with this combination than in 6.6.1 + franco's gb kernel
use kernels with touchscreen bug fix
The fix only minimizes the bug which means it should be there. There is no way to completely fix it and if your using a kernel with the fix, you just have to deal with it.

Try void forever with fserves 18a kernel.
IMO reduces the most.
If that doesnt work switch to official 2.3.3 based roms using paulos vtouch kernel.
That is a sureshot lagfix, how accompanied by lower moderate performance.

The best kernel with touchscreen lag fix for o1 is paolo v6 kernel(.35).My neocore goes down 1 frame when i touch the screen(my score is 63 fps without touching thescrreen).

most powerfull= all of them are equally powerfull (my personal preference mik's with franco's kernal i got 60.4 frames on neo core with sound @ freq.825 @ smartass and no lag on angry birds)
smoothest= noein's one. cause less apps more free space to play on. with franco v18 gives u 2 days of battery.
I get 60.6 at 787 mhz in rjtchn15's cm7 rom
All those custom GB roms are great. Just pick one that suits you best.
less apps more space make it smoothest, but we also will install apps,is not the same?

if u flash ungaze d2sd, only boot time will increase but performance will be constant
i tested mik's and andy's last roms. andy's has bigger results in quadrant.

Yes, Andy rom is great in performance/battery. I was using Andy roms and never faced lagging issues in any of the games.

mean noein rom already have built in d2sd already n andy n milk rom didn't have?
actually the quadrant score really got affecting the actual performance?
is milk rom battery drain very fast?
Check below

We all know our gb custom roms are all smooth in performance.
The real question is, which has better battery performance?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
noejn for me has good battery life....and by the way if anyone has flashed v20g...how is it...anything better than custom roms??
First I tried Mike 6.5.7 and the performance was awesome. But that build with Franco kernel has earphone mic call terminate problem. Then I tried void forever. It was superb wit everything working but after flashing Franco v19 camera s getting stopped. I don't know what to for. Ppl place let me know your stable combo for cm7. I know this has been asked before but pls don't mind guyz

Currently, all CM7 have problems. A bug-free version does not exist yet.
You have to set priorities, what matters most to you. The CM7 Mik mod was perfect for me, but often had battery drain.
Now i use the OpenOptimus Rom
stable running cm7 with the kernel that comes with it (in my signature)
I am currently using openOptimus , It is good.. But has some bugs, and battery drains faster as Apps keep running in the background.. phone does not sleep well..
Which is the best custom gingerbread ROM.??
Key factors: Best BATTERY life, Smooth Performance, rooted, Adobe FLASH support..
openOptimus build 2.202.1 OR AGA-ROM v1.3.5

I'm not sure about flash support. Never cared about it. Try Mik's ROM with franco's kernel. That's the best combo you'll ever get.
P.S: Whatever ROM you're using, if apps keeping running in the background, the battery is going to get drained. That is the law of science. Manage your apps and their syncing and the battery life will improve automatically.
for me open optimus with franco kernal v1 (16th aug) is the best combo ...
Mike's CM7 has been the best for me till now! As you said, Openoptimus does have some bugs...
Try cm7 from mik
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
You must give a try to mik's stable 6.5.7 with franco's kernel 19.2
It will take you beyond awesome speed as well as battery life

Use CM7 from mik and franco kernel and dont forget to say them thanks for his hard work
I installed CM7 from Mik..
but, It does not support data
Will Get back to OPENOptimus
i'm doing a rom stable with GB, it's based on CM7.
Now i have only a bug:
The serial number
try void #forever.. maybe that's the one you are looking for
*performance *battery *stability

It does support data just fine for people who read the instructions and use the proper baseband.

thats not a biggie, mines erased anyway
and I would say gingerlol, it comes with app2sd running which works perfectly for me. (couldn't get app2sd working on open optimus) also paulo kernal with axis inversion fix is really good for battery, Havn't tried any CM7 roms because my phone came 2.3.3 preloaded and don't wanna flash different baseband (can brick phone) so am waiting (eagerly) for mik to have a fix for this
hey, i overclocked to 806mhz using PaoloM70's OC Gingerbread kernel and my phone crashes very often... i'm using stock GB rom... even if i use 745 or 768 it chashes within a few hours... please help me.. should i install franco.kernel or use some different kernel for smoot functioning of my o1.. ??

The only thing u can do is use lower frequencies.

How much you can over-clock really depends from device from device. Some O1s are lucky and can OC to 806 but some never make it pass 729. Give Franco a try (its an awesome kernel regardless) but if it doesn't work it probably just mean that your phone can't OC to 806 (like mine) and just stick with something at a lower frequency.
If you install setcpu then it comes with a stress test. Use it to find out which frequency is the most stable for you.
what about governers ? if I use smartass it crashes while playing games.. and with ondemand, it feels stable.
hello guys,
its my 2nd day with blackbird(optimus net rom ported by mattof93) now and it seems really promising!
quite impressed with its performace,responsiveness..
initally it was slow, but after flashing paulo v6 touchfix kernel it became really good!
only big bug im suffering from is that usb mass storage doesnt work
however we can go to recovery and toggle usb there and use it!
other than that really small bugs expected to be fixed like autofocus, not switching on nce battery drains to 0%(remove battery and replace) !
so here im sharing a few screenshots of the rom!
i tested neocore yesterday and score was somehwere around 60-64fps (without sound) !mind its a stock modified rom..
games like asphalt 5,dungeon hunter, nfs shift, hero of sparta etc work flawlessly and quite smoothly!
most imprtant it has darktremors a2sd working really well!
have a look at it and if u like just grab it from dev thread ..
guys please vote !!poll on top of the page
some info as provided by matt on performace by kernel :

Sorry for being this irritating 'questionare' but could you test asphalt 5 for me?
what's next (RC3):
rom partially deodexed
custom framework
some changes to scripts in init.d and build.prop
new kernel
androidusero1p500 could you add a survey to decide which kernel will be used by default in the RC3?
these are the options:
rome kernel by zacks (better performance)
franco kernel (best compromise between performance and stability)
paolo's kernel (the only kernel which solve the scrolling "bug")

I'm using firestorm n was clocked @122-787 interactive /smartass(dun remmber xactly wich one i was usin).. paulo v6 touch kernel!with darktremor a2sd..
I get minimum 60-62fps ..with ram running at 200mb ..(don't prefer killing em)..
Also I'm using autokiller memory manager pro(plays with minfree also)from market ,it has an option called adanced tweaks too..could that be the reason?
Editrutuj the values i mentioned was without sound !also could you give feedback on your experience with the rom?

Ok.
Im running firestorm using paulos v6touch kernel at 480/729 smartass, OC using setcpu.
Im also using zepellinrox's v6supercharger, aggressive settings.
The neocore came upto 56~55..The gaming is superb especially HD games.
So, will autokiller memory manager mess up with v6 supercharger settings?
p.s. - Whats the ETA for rc3 ?

yeah auotkiller mm is simialr to v6 supercharger!
but i heard supercharger is something more than amm!
however you get 55-56 without sounD?
im getting constand scores above 61fps!with 122-787mhz,around 40-60 apps installed a lot of em in there and a lot of ram constanly being used!!
like when i ran neocore i had about 180-200mb free!
