Can anybody tell me if it's possible to replace the Moto Atrix's Qualcomm MDM6200 4G module with a Qualcomm MDM9200 or MDM9600 and have it function correctly on AT&T's LTE network?

I don't know if you're an optimist, or a crazy person. The simplest way to answer this; No. No... No. Even if you had a crazy set of desolder and solder skills, the other hardware would have to interface with it and the software after that. You're better off building your own phone!

+ a 4G LTE USB stick and cook up you're own usb android driver for it!
Good luck :S

There are a lot of interesting devices showed up recently, which based on Qualcomm MSM 7227 processor ARMv6.
Its a cheep and very nice processor for its price, and i was going to buy cheep divice, based on it, but there is a question appeared:
Will Android 2.2 Froyo work on this MSM 7227 processor?
Or it will be working only on ARMv7 Snapdragon, Cortex A8 and later processors?
A saw info that froyo works exclusively on ARMv7 processors and better,
аnd will not support ARMv6. Is that true? Or normal/official support of ARMv6 will be added later?
it should run on most proscesors it just will need to be tweaked a litle bit
I don't see why it wouldn't - you might need to compile it yourself though, unless someone already has a rom out for the phone you want.
Check out cyanogenmod.com
Seems like T-Mobile's Galaxy II S will be different from the other carriers. It'll be the fastest IIS out of all the other carriers. It comes with a dual core 1.5ghz Qualcomm APQ8060 processor. Same processor in our Touchpads, just overclocked? The AT&T & Sprint siblings will sport a slower Exynos processor.
Seems like the 64GB HP Touchpad White is clocked at 1.5ghz with the Qualcomm APQ8060 as well. Wonder why they downclocked the 16GB and 32GB.

1.) The Exynos processor is still faster.
2.) APQ8060 is actually underclocked on our devices for battery life. 1.5GHz is actually stock for the chip.
3.) Doubt this will help anything. The Puccini has the same processor as well.
The freshly released HTC Jetstream (10.1 inch tablet) Has the same processor as well.. However it runs Android 3.1, which doesn't have its source code published.
Without hijacking your thread, does anyone think the Jetstream rom opens a possibility for a port?

Is there anyway that someone could port the Beats capability from the HTC Sensation XE to the Atrix? I know that it has been ported to the Desire HD

Not a development thread, but I'll answer anyway. Beats by Dre is a lame speaker system. I very much doubt that's something that can be ported. I don't see the allure anyhow.

Have you tried the DSP settings in CM7?
Hi I'm curious about the differences between the Bionic and the RAZR from a devving stand point.
I'd like to take a look at several files / outputs from the RAZR:
Files needed:
/init.rc
/init.mapphone_cdma.rc
/init.mapphone_umts.rc
/ueventd.rc
/ueventd.mapphone_cdma.rc
/ueventd.mapphone_umts.rc
And the ouput of these adb / terminal commands:
cat /proc/mounts
cat /proc/partitions
cat /proc/cmdline
busybox df
Thanks!
Well first of all, the RAZR runs out of the box on android 2.3.5 which has significant framework updates from the original 2.3 that the Bionic comes with. With regards to compiling kernels for the phones, the RAZR has a 1.2 GHz processor and 1GB RAM while the Bionic has a 1GHz dual core processor which is useful in utilizing for speed methods. The Bionic is loaded with a bunch of software that runs the mobile notebook which allows it to connect with the webtop app and Motorola Lapdock. Both phones have the "Motoblur" UI over it which I personally hate to develop for but we can work on porting HTC Sense or modifying the Motoblur framework itself.

I wasn't so much interested in the software differences as what it would take to get the current CM7 builds for D3/Bionic cut over to RAZR and supporting its hardware.
In my opinion:
android 2.3.5 presents little to no issues, as CM is already on 2.3.7
the TI 4460 processor is also supported under the same OMAP4 framework as the 4430
there's a chance that the syslink/tiler might have a 3rd core (Tesla) but that's also accounted for in the source from TI and essentially a non-issue
I realize the partitions are different (for some reason), but other than that the Bionic is a good model to start from for RAZR devving.. at least in my opinion.
so i had a sony ericsson xperia mini, it comes with a 1ghz single core processor...oc'ed to 1.8 ghz. I am about to buy the atrix 4g, since my xperia was stolen, i looked it up and found that the max oc for the atrix is 1.6 ghz..is that true?and if so, how come that the mini 's single core processor can take more than the atrix 's dual core???

Most Atrix phones will only OC to 1.3GHz. Very few of the Atrix phones can take the 1.45GHz or 1.6GHz. Same as a PC, all hardware is different, even if the same parts. Don't bank on buying one and being able to OC to 1.6GHz because it's a very low percentage that can go to that. Mine for example will only go to 1.3GHz. Anything more and I boot loop after flashing the kernel.

Being able to channel higher volts/temps doesnt make a cpu intrinsically better. Just means its a more solid slab of metal. Please familiarize with nuances of overclocking before going for record OCs or you will damage components.
Try the atrix at stock. Its extremely snappy, and im not talking in terms of "my email doesnt lag" snappy.
If you have the mentality to push it as hard as you can for giggles, try 1.45 ghz.
If youre looking for a phone that can run [email protected] in record speeds, well youre probably crazy so thats moot.

Go ahead and over clock to the max. Your digitizer will not break despite the scorching temperatures. (Sarcasm)

Lol your atrix would literally burn a hole in your pocket if you dare to over clock it that much

hmmm..
so you guys are saying that the fact that the mini can oc to 1.8 and be stable doesnt mean shiit? O_O
or that the dual core processor of the atrix doesnt need oc in the first place??
and one more thing, irrelevant actually...should i get the atrix 4g or is it like...outdated???if it is...im probly thinking samsung galaxy s advance...
what would U do? 0_o
ow and thanks for replying

Matrix doesn't really need overclocking and yes, I think the Atrix 4G is becoming outdated. But I believe it is still a better choice than a Galaxy S Advance. If you have the money to spend, the Atrix 2, Razr Maxx and the Galaxy S2 may be better choices for you

In the world of technology, most products are outdated 1 week after public release. That is not exaggerated either.

Upgraded to the S3 from my Atrix. 1.5GHz (OC to ~1.8) processor and 2GB of RAM, this phone is great. I couldn't recommend the Atrix anymore due to the fact it is almost at the end of its 18month official support window.
