Is there anyway that someone could port the Beats capability from the HTC Sensation XE to the Atrix? I know that it has been ported to the Desire HD

Not a development thread, but I'll answer anyway. Beats by Dre is a lame speaker system. I very much doubt that's something that can be ported. I don't see the allure anyhow.

Have you tried the DSP settings in CM7?

I don't know if you're an optimist, or a crazy person. The simplest way to answer this; No. No... No. Even if you had a crazy set of desolder and solder skills, the other hardware would have to interface with it and the software after that. You're better off building your own phone!

As you can see with the exception of the screen, camera, battery and a bit of height/weight they are indeed very similar. I saw a video on youtube with a guy who overclocked his GS1 to 1.7 ghz. Also if you go look at AnTuTu Benchmark v2.8.2 the highest clock speed is 1.8ghz. This got me the thinking that it could be possible with the Galaxy Player 4.0. Any thoughts on this?

It's potentially possible, but not very practical. I've overclocked to 1.7GHz with my Samsung Galaxy Player 5 so far, but I wouldn't keep it at that regularly. I only overclock to 1.5GHz on a regular basis. Any higher is just dangerous and not worth the extra speed.
I'm probably going to scrap modding the SGP5 and just buy a Galaxy Nexus Tablet 7 since that will have more options for getting the most power out of it with the quad-core proc + more RAM, etc

Well if the 5.0 can do I'm sure the 4.0 can too. I was just wondering that's all. Also can you tell me what did you get in quadrant? The only thing about the Galaxy Nexus Tablet wrong is that there's no micro usb. To me that was a very bad move on Samsung's Part. It makes no sense imo.
I've had my 5.0 to 1.7ghz as well, but backed off because the players lack a cpu temp sensor. I run mine daily at 1.5 but I have no idea what the 4.0 is capable of.
If the 4.0 uses the Hummingbird CPU and it's rooted I believe the Tegrak Overclock can do the work.

i had 4.0 (returned due to brick but getting it again i had mine overclocked at 1.2 it can go further in tegrak but ive only gone to 1.2 since most 4.0 roms are already overclocked to 1.2 and i only go to 1.3 when playing a game but you can go higher i dont know to what since i dont have the paid version of tegrak

ASUS makes the nexus 7 tablet. I think it is possible. Never done it and I don't see a reason to. The device is fast enough with 1 or even 1.2 ghz.

NONE of the 4.0 ROM's are default overclocked, as overclocking has more to do with the kernel then the ROM.
To the OP I run the terrasilent kernel on my 4.0 and use the app "no frills cpu" it allows for a 1.2 Ghz overclock and more importantly allows "apply on boot" for free, tegrak will go higher but you'll need to buy the ultimate version to do it and have it "apply on boot".
Yes I believe Hanthesolo Actually went up to 1.5GHz but even still if you flash a custom kernel it will by default run at 1.2GHz

Yes and No, yes Han has pushed his to 1.5Ghz but BY DEFAULT it's the stock 1Ghz NOT 1.2Ghz no matter what ROM or Kernel you run on the 4.0, you must use an APP to overclock, the kernels simply give you the ABILITY to overclock.
No Frills CPU will let you do 1.2Ghz and apply on boot for free
Tegrak will do 1.3Ghz but has to be manually applied for free
Tegrak Ultimate will go higher but you have to buy it

What was your Quadrant Score?
so i had a sony ericsson xperia mini, it comes with a 1ghz single core processor...oc'ed to 1.8 ghz. I am about to buy the atrix 4g, since my xperia was stolen, i looked it up and found that the max oc for the atrix is 1.6 ghz..is that true?and if so, how come that the mini 's single core processor can take more than the atrix 's dual core???

Most Atrix phones will only OC to 1.3GHz. Very few of the Atrix phones can take the 1.45GHz or 1.6GHz. Same as a PC, all hardware is different, even if the same parts. Don't bank on buying one and being able to OC to 1.6GHz because it's a very low percentage that can go to that. Mine for example will only go to 1.3GHz. Anything more and I boot loop after flashing the kernel.

Being able to channel higher volts/temps doesnt make a cpu intrinsically better. Just means its a more solid slab of metal. Please familiarize with nuances of overclocking before going for record OCs or you will damage components.
Try the atrix at stock. Its extremely snappy, and im not talking in terms of "my email doesnt lag" snappy.
If you have the mentality to push it as hard as you can for giggles, try 1.45 ghz.
If youre looking for a phone that can run [email protected] in record speeds, well youre probably crazy so thats moot.

so you guys are saying that the fact that the mini can oc to 1.8 and be stable doesnt mean shiit? O_O
or that the dual core processor of the atrix doesnt need oc in the first place??
and one more thing, irrelevant actually...should i get the atrix 4g or is it like...outdated???if it is...im probly thinking samsung galaxy s advance...
what would U do? 0_o

Matrix doesn't really need overclocking and yes, I think the Atrix 4G is becoming outdated. But I believe it is still a better choice than a Galaxy S Advance. If you have the money to spend, the Atrix 2, Razr Maxx and the Galaxy S2 may be better choices for you

In the world of technology, most products are outdated 1 week after public release. That is not exaggerated either.

Upgraded to the S3 from my Atrix. 1.5GHz (OC to ~1.8) processor and 2GB of RAM, this phone is great. I couldn't recommend the Atrix anymore due to the fact it is almost at the end of its 18month official support window.

Hello everybody !
I began this thread because I want to port a Sense 5.0 ROM on HTC Flyer, tablet which was too long neglected by the devs ...... and its own creator! Although I have no knowledge on the subject, I decided to go through with my plan, regardless of the difficulties !
The main obstacle that occurs to me is the "base ROM" : from which device should the ROM come, knowing that there are currently, only 5 units in Sense 5.0 & SoC Qualcomm :
¤HTC Desire 600 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 8625Q - 1.2Ghz - 45nm)
¤ HTC One Mini (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 8290AB - 1.4Ghz - 28nm)
- my 2 main choices
¤ HTC Butterfly S (Qualcomm Snapdragon 8064T 600 - 1.9Ghz - 28nm)
¤ HTC One (Qualcomm Snapdragon 8064T 600 - 1.6Ghz - 28nm)
¤ HTC Butterfly (Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 Pro - 1.5Ghz - 28nm)
Knowing that the Flyer runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8255T - 1.5Ghz - 45nm, what would be the most appropriate device ? Personally, I started with the idea of working on the HTC Desire 600's ROM, but question is : the Dual SIM functionality will be a problem for me ? Should I focus on the compatibility between the diagonals screen or on the processor's ? These are the questions which abound in my head !
I hope you'll help me in this (quite huge) project !

Hi Guys
Bought a HTC sensation xe recently everything was fine after unboxing beats audio software, lock screen look just like on the picture on the box, 1.5ghz processor and gingerbred and all. After i took the first update ICS im now seeing my processor reading 1.2ghz instead of 1.5ghz how do i fix this and is it normal? It looks fine and everything just the processing speed change im asking about
