I took a one minute video and then tried to email it. Right after that I started getting error messages that I was low on phone storage place. I had suddenly gone from 100 mb to 50mb . I deleted the email which had not been sent yet as well as the video and it still shows 50mb of disk storage.
This is the second time this happened. Seems like some file got stuck on the phone storage. The last time the only way I fixed this was to clear the phone. This time I am asking for help from you experts.
I am using HTC edge unrooted

You could try a cache cleaner. I am not obsessive about it, just clean them once a month or so.

The other day I was looking thru my pix and noticed almost all of them had been duplicated. Except, for the pix I took that day or the day before. I went thru and deleted the duplicates and found that ut deleted them all. I was able to recover them off the SD card but noticed it has happened again. Not sure if an app I'm using is causing it if what. Any ideas?

Anybody?? I have 700+ pix being shown when I look at them on the phone instead of 350 or so... If I look mount my phone and look at dcim, .thumbnails it shows over 2300 jpeg files.
Ok, so last night I went to my aunt's 50th b-day party. I took some pix and a couple videos. This morning I go to reveiw them, and I can clearly see them in my gallery. I open a video to watch, and then get a "sorry video cannot be played" message about 3 seconds into the video, then it's closes the video. I'm returned to my gallery where I can still see the pix and video, the the screen flashes and now I can't see any of the pix or videos .....Is there anyway or any program I can use to recover these lost treasures of mine that my phone thought I wouldn't want. I have connected both the phone and my card to my PC and cannot find the files anywhere
Are u rooted? Are you on a custom Rom

Yes I am rooted and running the blazer ROM 1.3
????
Have you tried transferring the files to pc or uploading to dropbox?
There have been times where i download or capture a small video and it doesn't show up in gallery until i reboot the device.
this isn't completely crazy, a friend has a Droid X and it did this exact thing to her with video and pictures... stock never rooted or anything internal memory, I've never had any issues at all with it on any of the three android devices I've had though.
I always hv the dropbox mobile upload on. With 50gb of cloud storage you should take advantage of it

I was reviewing them to see which ones I wanted to save. And while in my gallery view, the blinked and I guess reloaded itself, and all of the pix and videos from the night before, were gone. I connected the phone to my pc, and nothing....I took my sd card out and put it in my pc, and still, nothing..... It's as if they never existed

Might wanna try a file recovery program on the sd card to see if you can get them back.
Hi to everyone.
I was just wondering if any of you have experienced all data suddenly disappearing from you phone. The other day, when I was using the camera I got a message there was problems with the internal memory. I restarted the phone, which took longer than normal. Everything looked OK and I took the pictures I wanted.
When I wanted to look at the pictures I found everything was missing in the internal memory except the pictures I had just taken.
Checking the phone with Quick System Info I could also see, there was no system cache anymore. The system cache reappear, when I unmounted it in recovery, and whipped it. The Data was gone for good.
I'm using stock 4.0.4 prerooted rom and advanced stock kernel v. 11
This message was send from my Iconia Tab using the keyboard.
The same kinda thing happened to me about a week ago.
But mine's slightly more weird due to the fact that I wasn't even using my phone at all.
At first, everything was absolutely fine with no problems. I then came off my phone for a while because I was watching a film. When I then went back onto my phone, I noticed that a couple of apps on my home screen were showing as invalid( so the apk was still there but there was a problem with the data side of it). I went into my file manager to see that everything that was saved internally had disappeared.
It was showing that I'd only used 270ish MB, which I know for a fact is wrong cause I'd pretty much filled it.
But because I wasn't using it and it wasn't even being touched, I fant understand the problem.
I really hope someone replies here and can let us know what caused it to happen. Even though it won't get our data back, it would be good to know why it happened.

Not sure if this is a jellybean bug. Sense 4 bug or just a problem with HTC Watch but this started after the jb update.
I have watched many movies on my evo lte using my mhl adapter but now I have run out of phone storage. Never happened before. So I wiped phone storage. Today I had 125 megs used. Downloaded sherlock homes 2 and watched it. After wards I checked storage and as expected its now 1.4gb used. Went into HTC Watch and deleted the downloaded copy and checked storage. No change. Decoded to download again and stopped it half way thru. Checked storage now up to 2.25gb. Go to HTC Watch and delete downloaded copy. Waited a few minutes and phone storage still at 2.25gb.
This isn't good. I like to check watch for their weekly 66 cent specials.
Troubleshooting.
I cleared cache and settings for HTC Watch.
Logged back in. No changes.
Any suggestions?

so you cleared data from Watch but the movies are still there? did you force stop it also? another thing to do is to clear the cache partition from recovery.
Try backing up all of your sd card data and format it threw your pc and restore factory defaults. Sometimes the phone format fails to work as it should. See if that helps at all.

Its not on my SD card. its on the phone storage.
Going to try a few other things and see if its an app issue after the JB update.
If your rooted. Try wiping the internal sd threw. recovery.

Stock, non rooted.
You should think about rooting if its an option for you. Your options are very limited "imo" without root. You can always unroot once/if you solve your issue. Root isn't a 100% fix for your issue but it does give you more control over your device in situations such as these. You can also try a quick google search to find out if there is a website that htc has for the users that have an watch account to see if there is any settings there you can edit to solve the issue if you haven't solved it already.

After further testing its a bug in the app its self.
Scenario is like this. When you rent a movie form HTC Watch you have 30 days to download it and watch it.
When you choose to watch it you then have 24 hours to finish watching it before the license is invalid and you can not watch it anymore.
In the past (4.0.4) i would download and watch, then after im done watching immediately delete the movie. This removed it from internal storage.
After 4.1.1 update if i do the same thing it does NOT delete the movie from the phone storage.
However, if i watch the movie, then let it reside on my device past the 24 hour rental period, i am prompted with an option to pay to rent it again OR remove it from my list.
Once i select to remove it from my list it will then delete the downloaded copy.
So to me thats a bug in the app that is occuring now after the 4.1.1 update.
Im headed on over to HTCs site to write them..
