Yes , it happens on mine too. Dont think its a problem though.
The sensor works as long as you don't press the power button.

In I9100 it is only ON when you are calling someone.
In I9100G it is always ON except in standby mode.
It seems a problem to me

thanks, are you facing any probelms with youtube application and the browser when you whach an hd video?
I have I9100G. After I saw this topic, I realized that my Proximity sensor was ON even while normal operation (the red ligh was lit dim, not off), but it was not doing any function. Then I called a number, and it started functioning (turning screen off when near etc). Then, it went off and started functioning like it should, i.e. turn on ONLY when call is made and turn OFF all other time.
So, to fix this, just call to any number (toll free to avoid charges), the proximity sensor resumes normal operation. Its working fine on my phone now.
when you call someone it will turn off for a short time, then it will light up agine

i think that there might be a problem with your device, it was a big mistake to buy this one, try to replace it with i9100 as this is a big scam.

AFAIK, that is the problem of Android devices, not G. OP, I have I9100G and battery statistics are not like this. Its pretty good, I lose 1% of my battery in 1.5-2hrs when on standby on stock 2.3.6.

sad to hear that, anyway all of the "G" users are facing probelms with the browser, which lags like hell when you open an hd or full hd videos and if you have adobe flash 11, every time you open a page with flash content, your browser will shut it self, in addition to that, there is a bug with the youtube app, every time you move the loading bar backward, the video will reload the video from the place you moved the bar backward to,
hope you can replace it
Funny.. i have the I9100G and i dont face issues that you've mentioned with the browser..
will have to test the youtube issue though

I am having the same problem with my i9100G. Comparing with the other phones (Infuse, I9100, Arc), their proximity sensor just turn on when make a call
Install fixed redlight.apk. I installed it and the proximity sensor turns off automatically once phone is unlocked. No need to turn it off manually by calling someone and ending the call.

I understand we have one or two different threads here, but I think this justified a new one, since as I'm sure all of you are aware, none of the Skype video calling apks have the rear facing camera truly working (there was one I tried that initialized the video, but did not transmit it to the other party).
I can CONFIRM that this apk by droidrx from the Android Development and Hacking forum that the com.skype.raider-2cam.zip works FLAWLESSLY for both the front AND rear facing cameras on the Evo 3D. I just completed a call with another Skype account on my laptop and audio both ways, and video works beautifully, in addition to switching the camers on/off and switching them back/fourth.
As always, uninstall any other versions of Skype first before installing this one. Make sure you thank droidrx for his work!

Are you asking if you want it to auto-connect when you have a data connection, and not when you don't? I'm sure the symbol thing you could probably find an app in the Market for.
I just keep it on. It'll show a Checkmark when you're online and connected, and an X when you're not.
Not sure if that's what you were exactly asking...you can probably go into Skype settings and mess with the options (notifications, go offline..etc.) and see if any of that helps. Just from the main Skype screen on your phone, tap menu and settings.
Any anyone besides the original poster verify this package?
its skype i'll verify that much. havent tested video yet.
but its still doing "reconnecting" with the symbol in the taskbar. my data is off. i unchecked sign in automatically. and i unchecked skype status. and i set it to go offline after 15 minutes.
but i still see the damn spinning icon there.
FYI, the linked post appears to be credible and have some users. I installed it on my 3VO and it launches ok, alas nobody is up at 1am for me to call so I can't test it at the moment.
Thanks for the link dzap!

Tanks a lot. works perfect even over 3G, finally got this working
another developer that is working on just GB devices has files posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1148708
looks like both droidrx and theos0o are sharing their stuff. I don't know if the droidrx version that includes froyo support has any disadvantages, so i'm going to try theos0o version. i currently have working skype video with front cam only, and my video freezes after about 10 seconds. going to try the theos0o version and see how that goes. i'll post back
EDIT: theos0o's version works, I didn't get the rear camera working but will now attempt to tweak the settings. I get front camera freezing still, turning my video on then off fixes it, but annoying. will see if I can resolve and post back (anyone run into this or fix it yet? does droidrx version freeze after 10 seconds?)
EDIT 2: theos0o version fixed front camera freeze by changing resolution (use "force 320x240"). rear cam works by using resolution "force 320x240". sign in automatically setting works (don't need to enter password).
EDIT 3: there is one remaining bug I have. no fix for it, and I suspect it's going to exist no matter which version you use. i've detailed it here, hopefully they find a fix.
Edit 4: see my post here for fully working version.
This happens occasionally with Amazon apps, when I try to install an update. It's also just happened again when I bought the Humble Bundle of apps, and it won't install when I try to push the install button once I open the .apk. Anyone know a work-around or have experienced this as well?
I will restart and post my findings.
For those who don't know what the Humble Bundle is, it's a bundle of four, great games, that YOU choose the price for. Read this article to learn a little more about it: Pay what you want for this Android Bundle
I couldn't install after reboot either...

It's an app that just makes the screen more dim than even Android can. You can set a default dimming level too.
That's is a stupid, stupid bug too, but at least I know why and it's now documented here. Thanks all.
Has anyone had this problem more recently?
I've been experiencing it on CM 10.1 ROMs, and only a complete wipe and reflash seems to fix the problem.
It would seem that SOMEWHERE, I need to wipe some kind of data out, but I don't know what. I'm having this exact situation right this second. Can't hit 'next' or can't hit 'install'.
4/11+ CM 10.1.
I don't see that 'Screen Filter' application. Nothing in apps called that. Does it have a different name?
Thank You

Any persistant overlay may prevent usage of the "install" or "next" button when installing an app from the SD card, whether it's screen filter or HALO. Chat heads, Ninja SMS, floating battery stats, etc are all possible culprits.
This is a safety built into android to prevent an app from popping up an overlay over the required permissions list and showing a "safe" list of required permissions on top of the real list of persmissions that allow it to read your texts, pick your wallet, and root around in your underwear drawer.

About Accelerometer Sensor, everything seems reversed. Holding the X1 vertically, the ball is above. In fact whatever the direction the ball goes on the top side during picked up.
I installed the same application on my Note 2, and there no problèmeL ball remains in the center when the note 2 is flat, etc ...
I see no other solutions than to send it to customer service.

There was another case reported on Frandroid forum.
Maybe could you change the title of the thread. As it stands it is useless and gives no info. With a title talking about the problem of autorotation, it would be more involved.
The bad headlines is usual. But it's a shame because ineffective.

Change the default screen timeout! Keep On Keeping On keeps your screen on!
The default screen timeout interval on Android Wear is too short!
Having such a short timeout makes it difficult to perform tasks that require pauses or to demonstrate features for an audience.
Using KOKO (Keep On Keeping On) you can keep your screen on longer!
Choose from many timeout options ranging from 5 seconds to 2 hours. Or keep your screen on indefinitely!
Please allow a few minutes for the app to be installed on the wearable after installing to mobile device.
Please be aware that setting a long screen off time will affect your battery life.
Now use wrist gestures in KOKO to select your screen timeout without touching your watch!!!!
Feel free to message us with requests for timeout intervals if you can't find one that works for you.
Thanks for trying it out and any feedback you may have.
I thought payed apps are allowed here ONLY, if also a free Version is pushed!
Free version coming soon for XDA, sorry for the delay. Created post on mobile and will update when I get to desktop.
Thread re-opened.
Again, sorry for the delay in getting the free version up. But it's there (OP) now. Please leave feedback if you find any issues.

I don't really think so because I think that's what it always was for me even on 4.4 and 5.0, I think 30s always the default, that's why I was hoping your app would let me decrease that time.
That is long for default. On my Moto is was like 4 seconds, that's why I made this app. I don't really want the app to force screen off, just keep it on. Maybe it's a build.prop setting? Are you rooted? Running a custom ROM? I'm neither.
EDIT: I see you are indeed rooted by your sig, maybe it's something in your ROM?

I just have root and a custom kernel, didn't modify anything in the ROM, and I did keep the watch not rooted for a long time and that's just the screen on time I always had by default, I can't see anything in build.prop that I could modify to lower the screen on time, I also used some other apps from Play Store on older android versions to do that but they have not been updated in a long time and thus don't work anymore. I was hoping your app would allow me to do that but I understand if you don't want to give that option, I will learn java in my next year of college so I might try to make my own app to do that afterwards, thank you for your work anyway, it's good to have it for those that want longer screen on time.
I was thinking off how to implement the screen off, how to know when the users not still interacting? Maybe a transparent overlay on the entire screen that listens for touches and after each touch resets a timer that when reaches its end turns off the screen? But this would require the DRAW OVER APPS permission and a Service to add the overlay to WindowManager. If I get some time I'll see if I can slap a demo together.

In the morning I received update Android 13 No 64.1.A.0.857 on my XQ-CQ54. So far, I can tell that there is no major visual upgrade, but my phone feels snappier and smoother. Screens and fonts are slightly more polished, deeper improvements might be found later with use, if any. Anyway, I'm satisfied with the existing configuration.

I don't think that this phone has a compass at all. When I install the app, it doesn't move if I move the phone, it's always still. But magnetic field value changes, though. Really weird.
I dont know i thought all phones have "compass" because of magnetic field sensor.
Open google maps tap on your location few times and press calibrate tell me if anything happens.
I ve noticed also it doesnt count steps ,tested one app which had that" step sensor"

Now I see. I've changed the compass app and the position is starting to move. But every time I open it, I must calibrate the compass again. It even shows me that the calibration is needed. If I skip it, the compass is totally disoriented.

Yes i too received a week before the same android 13 for my xperia XQ-CQ54 (UK) ..
In android 12 i had two issues
1. system ui stopping msg comes very rare
2. the default wallpaper i set from the sony , will be changed automatically sometimes to another one
and these two issues didnt come back in android 13 as of now and android 13 has no major improvements but what i feel is
1. battery with wifi is good compared to android 12 (i always charge to 80 and i get one day power)
2. super smooth without 120hts
3. bit more improved animations that looks cool.
overall i am fully satisfied
