128Gig SDXC - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

Hi All
Just wanted to let anyone considering a SDXC card that the Lexar Class 10 128Gig SDXC works a treat , just format as NTFS.
Regards
RF

Those majorly expensive?

175$ http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...128CRBNA133_128GB_Professional_SDXC_Card.html

I'm cheap, I'd rather stick an old 500GB drive in an enclosure and take up an usb port on the dock; but it is nice to know that a card of that calibre works

wow, they can make 128GB in that small of a package now?
Makes you wonder why SSDs chips are so big.

My first thought was getting this... second thought was if I'd even use it all. I got a TB USB drive and use the web storage for backing everything up. Lol. Maybe someday though.

Got the 128GB as i didnt want to cart around any more than i had to , now all i need to do is suss out how to wire a 3G/SD Reader dongle into the dock

not a bad price for so much room I don't think.

my first computer had an 80 meg hard drive. I upgraded the RAM to 8 megs With 4 shiny new 1 meg simms for just over 400 bux. Still have the reciept laying around someplace. Its probably laying next to my Hayes 300 baud modem...

My first computer has an Intel 486 cloned CPU aka. AMD Am486. Lower price, same or not better performance.
4 MB on board RAM. Later on, I upgraded it to 16 MB and I was flying on Windows 95.

i wish i could use an NTFS nicrosd card. Sigh

Wow, I didn't know the transformer would take such a huge card, that's great news for me thank you!

i can confirm that 64GB micro sd cards work on the tablet itself- they just need to be formatted in FAT32 so that CWM works properly.
i formatted my card to FAT32 in my samsung GS2 phone then put it in the tablet
works perfectly!!

hey guys, i was looking for a decent 32GB MicroSD now that i have s-off and backups are HUGE...
i found ADATA 32GB Micro SDHC Flash Card with Adapter Model AUSDH32GCL10-RA1 for $69.99
if you sign up w/ a new account and this is ur first order u can save $10.00 (and yes it is free shipping) by using coupon code: NEWCUSTOMER10
IMPORTANT, when i first applied the code it told me this was not valid, however, when checking out w/ Paypal it applied the code.. -$10.00
figure i'd share while it lasts... looks like it lasts until 8/31/11
for proof for those who need it, i attached screenshots of the order on newegg, as well as email confirmation
That's a good deal! I might make another account with them because I made one a while back when they were offering 20% off your first purcase. I bought a SanDisk 32GB card a while back from Sandisk's site when they had then for less than $60 with a coupon code. That was a STEAL!!! I wouldn't mind having another one though for when I get a tablet next month. I have a tough time passing on good deals

So far my cards been good. I was hoping to get 17mbps write speed but I cant find a decent app to use to do some test so I used a windows utility I found here.
http://forums.sandisk.com/t5/Sansa-...ctual-transfer-rate-with-this-free/td-p/84325
and so far I've been getting about 13mbps write speed.
I've tried SD Tool app from the Market and it's inaccurate. It reads my class 2 and my adata class 10 cards both @ 10mbps
@ aznmode
Try AnTuTu Benchmark for SD card read/write numbers
It is showing me 5mbps for the internal SD ;(

I tried AnTuTu but this cant be right either. 6.4mbps write? I'm expecting atleast 10 for a class 10 card.
This is what I thought.
My Asus transformer gives me 14Mb for internal sd write and 12Mb for external card
Only 5Mb for the evo 3d internal card!!!
I tried other benchmarking tool, they all gives ridiculously low numbers

I just picked up this card.. seems great so far, tested with SD tools in the market and get 11/20 with it.. gona try the bench you guys mention and see how it scores
Edit..
Tested with AnTuTu and got 14/16..
Got mine yesterday, great speeds. I believe it was 14 write, 20 read with SD tools. I'm glad I was able to get one.

Got mine on Amazon for a little less (real little) and free shipping ( http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-32GB-...JYCY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325739855&sr=8-1 ).
The SanDisk Class 4 was the go-to card for the NC (there's a chart floating around about r/w speed for different classes, sizes, and brands. Anything above a Class 4 is not recommended for this device (IMO) -- due to the performance-to-dollar ratio of the higher priced cards.

My comment was in reference to the cost/benefit of the steep performance vs. cost slope of investing in higher class cards.
My friend and I bought a Class 10 32 gig for only $39. I personally do not like Sandisk as a brand and was pleased to not buy their product, but that is just my taste.
Class 10 32gig that was rated well cost me about $50.

yea the one you linked to has sales tax which puts it like 20 cents below the price of newegg lol thanks for your opinion though
EDIT: oops, forgot to actually check and it doesn't have any sales tax! wow i actually just might get it from amazon then, even if it might take a bit longer... newegg(4-7 business days) vs amazon (5-8 business days) lol...
EDIT2: the link you provided, the pic of the card doesn't say what class it is and apparently there is a "newer" model here: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-micro...M-032G/dp/B004G60AD6/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
surprisingly enough, its actually cheaper than the one you provided by like 20 cents after shipping and tax are calculated... yea the "newer" one needs shipping, but still no tax which is good...

Don't you think the onboard flash controller would be a limiting factor in the performance of that card? If a Class 4/6's performance on the Nook Tablet is near equal to the performance of a Class 10 on the Nook Tablet then wouldn't you think that the top end performance of the onboard flash controller is 6MB/s?
Just saying, a faster card may not be better, no matter how fast, or how much it cost if the onboard technology simply can't keep up it'll just work like a slower card.
Look at Micro Center's prices. They are a good gauge. Be careful buying ones off ebay, there are folks selling counterfeit ones.

I like to think that I'm thinking ahead. these were designed specifically with tablets and phones in mind. Right now I'm running a class 6 8gb I bought for my G1 originally. My phone is a shift, and I have a nook tablet in the way also. Once the tablet is fully and completely rooted and running cm9, it will be my primary android device for my work. The 8gb class 6 will go back to being my phones storage. As a side note, I have a 16gb class 4 card also. I could clearly see a difference running it. My phone would choke and sometimes corrupt the images when transferring numerous pictures at once via USB cable to my PC. Never had this problem before or after with the 8gb c6 card.
And, if nothing else ... I spent 30 bucks for a cool ass blue stripe! Lol.

I have thoroughly tested the class 4 sd card from transcend sold by Newegg. They work with everything I have put the NT through and work very well with playing video from SD. Work very well with Acclaim 1.4.1 revert to 1.4.0 I just shot a video of this and the new SD card root process.

Fortunately I bought the dock, so I won't be needing this, but definitely a cheap solution for transferring files over/expanding memory via flash card or otherwise. I just think its incredible that one can potentially expand the internal 32GB memory to almost 96GB with 2x 32GB SD cards and potentially a 32GB flash drive plugged into the dock!! Could store alot on there!!!
U can actually even use a 64gb ...confirmed!

[Q] 16GB or 32GB?

Hey all,
Just a quick one, currently waiting for a eternally out of stock 32GB Nexus 10 in the UK, does anyone think the extra 16GB is worth the difference in price? I currently have an old laptop that stores all my media so there's no way i'd fit it all on the Nexus anyway. What do you guys think?
Cheers!

+1 i got an otg +2x 32 gb mini pendrive for 42€.
Do you find the OTG a bit awkward sticking out of the side of the tablet? I cant imagine what i'd fill the space with until i start using it.
I want to experiment with Ubuntu-touch and be able to at least emulate a dual-boot between the two OSes so I am holding out for a 32GB model. That is if they evey become available in Canada again.
I have the 32GB model, but I haven't come close to using even 16GB. With that said, it's comforting to know I have the space available should I want/need it. If you can afford the extra cost, and can wait out the availability of the device, I'd go with the 32GB.
I'm hoping to get at least 2 or 3 years of good use out of my N10, so I went with the 32GB. I'm already down to only 2-3 GB free on my 16GB Galaxy Nexus, so I could certainly see space being an issue down the road if I went with the 16GB tablet.
I have 32gb model and have just 9gb left, mostly games. I have all my movies and music on USB drives that I use with the otg cable.

it really just depends on how you use it. i have 100gb on dropbox plus a server and laptop so I went with a 16gb because an extra 100 bucks for 16gb of storage seems insane. i'll just save that extra 100 and put it on my next upgrade.
Ok, thanks all for your replies, as much as i am very keen to get hold of a Nexus 10 the wait for a 32GB one should be worth it.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Voted 32gb, because of the safety net of the space. Even the 16gb is probably more than enough, unless you store most your files on the device. I use plex so all movies/videos are on desktop and just stream. Besides apps, the only thing on mine is games for emulators. I bairly touched 5 gb if that of my 32gb
I thought the 16GB would be fine since I only use 7 or 8GB on my phone. But I use the tablet for gaming more more than the phone, and games have gotten quite large. Many are 1GB+ in size now, and the 16GB just doesnt cut it for me. I wish I had gone with the 32GB when I bought this. At least you can add space with an OTG cable, but it isnt as elegant as if the space was there in the first place.
16gb
I have 16 gb because I use Google services for things like music so I don't have to store it on my device, I only sync the playlist that I listen too off of google play music. Saves about 5gb of music files. 16gb+ not worth $100 imho.
I have a 32, and I'm frequently over 16 with media.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk HD
I just got my 32GB today and it already doesn't have much space once I put a couple movies, games, and music albums on it.
I would vote for 32GB. I am regretting getting the 16GB version. The OTG use is fine for movies, magazine etc. But you can't store games on SD cards or thumb drives. You can't compare 100$ for additional 16GB that's on board a device Vs something that hangs from the side of your N10. Never. Go for the 32GB anyday.
I have 7gb left on my 32gb one, but most of what I have on there is luxury I don't really need to keep.
I ordered a Patriot Node last week, that might be a solution to the eternal storage problems plaguing the Nexus devices the Wi-Fi on it is pretty weak, but it's good enough to listen to music or watch non-HD videos/read documents/stuff (worst case scenario, there's a usb cable).

I agree. I have 32gb and am very glad. I like to keep a stock nandroid and a nandroid of the prior version of whatever custom ROM I'm using so I can fall back if needed. That could already account for a few GB. I also back up apps with Titanium backup...another few hundred MB. If you use Drop box or other cloud services, you will have a local on-device copy as well. It's all too easy to use up the space, and very nice to have it available.
... beamed from my Nexus 10 to your planet
I've had both. First the 16gb which I purchased from the only place I could find it locally in SA. That fell and the screen was shattered. Managed to get the 32 gb from Amazon via MyUS.
My 32gb is definitely better than my 16gb. For some reason my 16gb could not detect my external 1TB Seagate drive via the OTG cable. My 32gb picks it up seamlessly. I don't know why; just happy that it does
I also use my tablet to grab stuff off newsgroups. The extra space is well worth the money.

It's called 'fixing' a SD card. There's a way to format the card where it fools the system into thinking that it's 32gb or 64gb, so that's what it will show up as 32gb or 64gb on the phone or computer, but in reality it's only 4gb. Long time scam, nothing new here.
Yeah... this is really strange. Get a suggestion and buy it from Amazon - real stuff & real price!
I get the feeling it's not actually 64gb. Not to mention that the card may have a high failure rate.
Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
Acttualy if you check in alixpress.com you will find that 64GB card is 8 USD.
And that is a partly true. The other part is that 64 GB is written on the card but that capacity is 2 GB.
Once you max out the actual capacity your files get screwed beyond repair.
Worst gag gift ever!
I don't feel good on this one...
Are people seriously falling for these scams?
You honestly want class 10 high speed cards anyway as the Note 3 has USB 3.0... I sometimes like to take the card out the phone and plug it into my 3.0 adapter to get even higher transfer speeds on my 64gb card. (curious that the Note 3 slows the transfer rate down but whatever)
Just saw the thread title... Honestly, how stupid would you have to be?
Just don't do it. I learned my lesson with cheap SD cards. I had serious home button lag when waking the phone. Long story short switched to a class 10 Samsung 64gb and all lag is gone.
