Hi all,
I got a problem about update my Amaze 4G which I brought at 5/11/11.
I had already root my phone and flash the clockworkmod recovery,
but before a few day, my phone remind my to download a system update.
When I completed download and begin to install,
my phone reboot and turn into the page follow

I saw a port http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297467
Which tell the update information
Android version : 2.3.4
HTC Sense version : 3.0
Software version : 1.36.531.5
Kernel version : 2.6.35.13-g19a3d1a
htc-ker[email protected] #1
Build number : 1.36.531.5 CL157207 release-keys
and I check my phone information is the same as the update
So I want to ask
1) Can I update the system update by HTC after I flash the clockworkmod recovery
2) If no, how can I update my system at the future or how can I flash back the original recovery
3) Is that update in the port is the latest one
4) If I already had the latest update, why my phone will remind me to download the update
Thank a lot!
Search for the stock recovery and flash it by hboot. Then update your phone and say goodbye to root. To obtain root again you will have to install busybox and superuser.
Honestly it'll be so much easier to flash a custom rom.

Stay with the 2. Versions or else you can't use the sense roms.
Signatures are fancy.

Like Moh_Jay said, stick with 2.5.x. There aren't really any advantages to upgrading to 3.0 or higher on the Liberty.

I had flashed my galaxy 5 i5500 to CyanogenMod 7.1 (aka 2.3.5) but i need to downgrade it to 2.2 or 2.1.
I had been read some guide saying that need to flash the downgrade.tar file using odin. i already done it but my phone reboot automatically and keep repeating the welcome page(as shown)

You need to format data,system,cache, and dalvik cache before downgrading. Use odin to get you in clockwork and do the above then reboot you do have a back up of your phone just in case dont you..

Maybe this thread can help? :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150159
Also, i had the same issue with odin getting stuck and it was because my drivers were 'stuck'. I had to un-install kies, install kies, reboot computer and then re-start odin. If you try that, be sure to keep your phone in download mode.
hope this helps
[Q] Can't update Nexus 7 - Error "Verifying current system" Re: DeskClockGoogle.odex
Hi, a relative has the original Nexus 7 model. We recently unlocked the bootloader, upgraded it to the then-current vanilla Android release (4.3 build JWR66V), and rooted it.
He now wants to update to 4.4 - and to do this without wiping his data we'd need to install the 4.3 JWR66Y update first. When we try to do this the normal way, the update fails with the generic warning icon. When we push it from adb sideload, it also gives an error saying the desk clock app is somehow invalid:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As far as either of us knows, he has not replaced or otherwise altered any of the stock apps - the only thing I can think of is that he tried to restore an older version of the app (or its data) while using Titanium Backup.
Can I work around this so we can install the update without wiping the whole device again? If I mount the Nexus 7 factory image, extract the offending app, and install it on his tablet, should that allow the installer to proceed? And if so, will I need to de-odex the app, or should it be OK since it's meant for the same device?
Bump.

Hi,
I own an Acer B3-20 tablet with stock firmware, rooted via kingroot and unkingrooted with supersu me pro.
An OTA update came today for my tablet and I did proceed not thinking about the root thing.
The update failed with the file
Code:
/usr/bin/debugd64
found not equal to the one expected. I assume it is the rooting process that changed that file.
No damage was done when I rebooted. All was there.
So I said to me. I am gonna reflash (OS_Acer_AV0L0.B3-A20.RV03RC06.WW.GEN1_A51L_A.zip) the stock firmware from SD Card to get rid of root but when I got into recovery mode (power+ vol up) I discovered that menu in chinese instead of stock recovery. OMG!

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Edit: looks a lot like this
I tried again the update after deactivating super su. (unrooting ?). It failed to do the update again but drop me it what seems to be exactly the stock recovery. So I used it to reflash the original firmware provided by Acer for the tablet. hence unrooting completly. and proceed to make the update again which worked this time. :silly:
Did you get the new chinese recovery after the update ? my build is now: Acer_AVOLO_B3-20_RV07RC01_WW_GEN1
How did I get the original stock recovery given I have already reflashed the original firmware and did not get it back (but I applied the OTA update on top of it) ?
What does every line of it mean ? Can somebody translate this menu, please ? the last one is reboot . It's all I manage to get
first highlited line seems some low level stuff and all this does not seem to be the recovery in chinese.
Thanks
