Hi everyone,
I am extremely frustrated right now about my situation. So recently I moved to china (temporarily) and I must use VPN
to have my freedom on the net for example accessing facebook. Here is my problem: whenever I connect to my vpn service (via L2TP) when I'm using mobile network, it always crashes and reboots my phone within maybe a minute or two. Then I tried to connect to vpn at home through wifi which is fine when I do it on my computer, I noticed that my phone gets periodical stales of non-responsiveness very often, maybe once every thirty seconds or so and
Gets such for almost about a minute. I'm trying to figure out if this is a problem with the firmware or is it a problem with china trying to screw me over? I am currently on 2.3.5 KI3. If anyone has any clues can you please tell me of help me figure out what its going on?.thanks everyone!

Did you reboot your touchpad? Had that issue the other day... A quick restart (actual restart... Not just a Luna restart) and back in business.

same issue, my touchpad connects via my router. It was in developer mode, not sure if it is the cause. I end up doctor it.
Weird, Im having the same issue with a school wifi network that i've always been able to connect to with no probs. only thing different is, i just recently doctored/partitioned/set up ubuntu. tethering to my phone works at least, but curious what the problem is, since it's probably not the network. (?)
Edit: and it works a couple hours later... For some reason.
Hey guys,
First of all, I am new to the forum, but I have been reading it thus far. Now, I have a problem that I cannot solve. I did not find anything related with the problem I have. I need your advises and help.
I recently bought an Atrix 4g and trying to figure it out. I configured Apn connection and installed a software called 'apn on-off' to be able to disable or enable my internet. It works well, however, after enabling it, it takes so long/forever to connect the edge connection again. So I am not able to do anything online since it does not connect, or I must await a long time for it to connect again. Why am I having this problem?
Also, is there any way to manually update my programs such as weather and facebook, instead of waiting for them to automatically update themselves, which I don't want to ?
Lastly, when it connects to edge or wifi, all programs update themselves. It is annoying to me. I would like to use my internet manually, as I want it to connect whenever I want to use or click 'update', instead of connecting automatically, which is arbitrary. Is it possible? I miss my old HTC in this respect
Thanks in advance
Hello everyone,
I am running android 2.3.6 on my pocket galaxy.
Whenever i keep my wifi on for sometime and keep my mobile aside ,i doesn't connect to internet as soon as I again pick it up. Though it shows that it is connected but i have to switch wifi of my mobile off and them turn it on again. There is probably no issue with my internet connection or router because my tablet and laptop doesn't show similar problem that use the very same wifi signals for accessing internet.
Secondly, lets say i went out of home along with my mobile into an area where i don't get the wifi signals of my router and then came back, while wifi was on, mobile would not connect itself even after ten to fifteen minutes. I don't know whether there is any particular time interval for every mobile to scan for wifi but i guess it must be not more than two to three mins once you don't have signals.
Please tell me ,is it a hardware issue or software issue and how to fix it. Would be grateful .
Regards

You may check this thread, but I always recommend "Infuzi0n Kernel"
I have had my Sony Tablet S for about 9 months and as I think everyone knows the wifi disconnects randomly. I've found my biggest problem when using Wifi with bluetooth. The network would lose data and then disconnect every 5-20 minutes (sometimes in less than a minute). Thanks to Condi and those involved in the recent break through, I was able to root my r5a. Once I installed Samba Network Fileshare, it seems to have stopped being an issue (at least, no issues within my normal use 30 min - 1 hr at a time). I've used every app designed to fix and force wifi connections I could find with NO success. I have to say I've been close to chucking the tablet as hard as I can against the closest wall, but since root and the Samba install, I've had a much more pleasant experience.
I'm sure there's a question in there somewhere, but for now, I thought I'd share my experience.
The closest thing to a question in this thread would be "What is Samba Network Fileshare doing to fix the network issue that other wifi connection apps would be doing?"
is it the same samba as used in ubuntu to share file from windows pc?
Its probably the same software technology. Its how I use it. but it is by funkyFRESH
Wifi fix Sony Table S (root & install Samba Network Fileshare)
Thanks, I have rooted my Sony Tablet S and installed the "Samba Network Fileshare" app and the wifi speed and stability had a huge improvement.

Hi friends,
My Xperia Z2 is about six months old. Since last month its giving me a hell of a problem with WIFI. Whenver I switch On wifi on the divice, it slows down the internet on the divice itself further also slows down the home network speed (9Mbps to 1 Mbps and gradualy 0). When I switch off the wifi on my xperia, all other divices works great.Initially I thought its my modem issue, hence got a new modem and still the issue persisted. Furthermore this issue occurs intermittently -twice on thrice in a week and persists for a day or two, then suddenly runs fine.
Steps performed already:
1. WIFI and router settings are ok. Infact installed a new modem.
2. Phone repair and software update done on PC companion. ( Whenever I do this, it runs ok for a couple of days and then back to square one).
3. Tried using friends home wifi network and similar experience.
Had any of you guys encountered this issue. I have been asked to send the phone for warranty repair. However I am afraid, since the problem is intermittent , hope the repair guys would actualy able to find the issue.
Thanks for your help,
Regards
Abhijeet
any help friends?
Thanks
Try using a firewall app like AFwall+. Block everything and start unblocking your apps one by one. See if there is any rouge app in your phone
Good luck!

Also check to make sure you don't have conflicting ip addresses. My router would assign my phone and laptop the same ip address which caused issues. I manually set my phone to an address outside of the dynamic range.
