ATT update notification, how to desactivate it? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I'm still on Gingerblur 4.5 (I know it's old, but it suits perfectly on how I use the phone, and I don't want to unlock it yet, still under warranty)
My question is, how do I definitively freeze or desactivate the ATT update notification message?

[Q] What's your voice prompt?

Just a quick question, mostly out of curiosity....
A couple of days ago, I unrooted my phone back to stock followed by a complete system restore. Today, I used Bluetooth to make a phone call. I was a little surprised because, in order to initiate a call, I used to have to say, "Hi Google". Now it's "Hi Galaxy". Wondering it's that's because of the unroot or because of an update to the app. I'm on Bell.
So what is your voice prompt? And is your phone rooted or stock and, if stock, which carrier?
ATT - "Hi Galaxy" - always has been on stock, TPC, Saurom, Collective ICS for me, you can change what it says in the settings just FYI in case you didn't know.
Edit - I can't say I've checked when I was unrooted, allt he above answers are from when I was rooted.

[Q] A couple problems: LED notification and double text?

First of all the LED notification. I don't understand this thing. It goes off whenever it wants... I went to settings and put it on "SMS/MMS" only and it still goes off when I don't even have a text or message. And then when I get a text it goes off which is what it's suppose to do. But when I get the text, tap it, and read it; I now have no unread texts but it continues to blink... It has just became an LED that flashes to me whenever it wants to. I wish it would say why it is flashing or what notification is making it flash. Any help?
Second problem is the double text I get from people. This is getting really annoying. Is there an update or fix for this?
HTC Amaze 4G all stock. Bought from T-Mobile new in March.

Were these still being sold by t-mobile in march?
You say all stock, but are you sure you aren't using any apps to do with sms? Handcent, gosms, something? If you get a third party sms app and don't disable notification in the stock app, then it won't stop flashing till you check THOSE notifications.
If you have google talk, google voice, skype-- so many of those have an sms function that could make the led go off. If you have those and don't use them, go into the setting of the app and turn off sync and notification.
Or if you are feeling daring you can always upgrade to ICS - I know most of us are using ice cream sandwich right now, so it will be hard for any of us to give you an answer to an issue on gingerbread.. if you find a thread for upgrading to ICS with s-on you'll see you don't have to root, unlock bootloader, or any of the other things people are scared of doing- you just download the leaked RUU, rename it and put it on external sdcard, reboot into bootloader and it does everything for you(if you do this I recommend backing up everything, I think it wipes the whole phone). There is no more risk to it than there would be when tmobile eventually pushes the update to your phone.
Hope something here is helpful for you

[Q] Disable "international roaming warning" popup

Hey guys.
Im on a gsm xt910 running stock 2.3.6 GB (hardly stock anymore), and whenever i use 3g/mobiledata i often get a super annoying popup saying "international data roaming press yes/no to continue roaming", this is especially annoying when driving or when somebody else is using my phone.
i know this has been asked before for GB motorola devices, but i cant seem to find an answer anywhere. all i found was alot of pissed of vzw customers :S
and no i don't want to wait for ics to fix this, i have waited for too long already. also i like my oc'ed razr as it is
anyone know how to disable this popup? or tips on which apk the code could be located in so i can fool around with it myself
Did you ever figure out a solution? Im thinking about trying to used the Xposed framework on my Razr m with 4.1.2 (rooted) to decompile the NotificationMgr.java file and change the line that calls the pop up. Let me know if you have found an easier or more successful way.

Sim Card Notification

Hi guys!
So I got a brand new Verizon V10, It's unlocked, and I'm using it overseas with other carriers.
Every time I insert a local sim card (ie not vzn) I get this annoying notification about it (screenshot attached) - is there anyway to get rid of that?
One more question for you guys, I tried to look over the web, but I didn't see any possible way to wipe vzn version and flash a clean LG one to the device. So I guess there is no way to do it up to now. Am I wrong? Please tell me I am
Thanks!
That sim notification is always there with non verizon sims. You might be able to get rid of it with root. You can't flash other roms to a Verizon phone but you can root and uninstalled all the VZ crap
If you are rooted with Xposed, Notify Clean will allow you to get rid of just about any notification you want.

Google pixel reinstall android

Hello,
I have flashed before... But I've never actually flashed to factory so it will still accept updates from the carrier.. I have a friend with a Google pixel and it's having some bad glitches. I figure the best way would be to reinstall Android. But how do I have it locked onto Bell (Canada) so it will still have its own updates? I understand this may be a common asked question but I am unable to find much on this. Even a link to a post would be great then I can just delete this.
EDIT: turns out he went to bell reflashed it and it didn't work.
Symptoms:
Calling someone noone can hear him he can't hear them
Incoming call glitches the phone needs a full set
After reset one phone call can be made then it continues same above.
What could be doing this?
Thanks!
