I just tried wifi again, and it does work on wifi. I must not have had a good wifi signal when I tried it before. Still doesn't work with data only though.

You'd need a phone like the thunderbolt to talk and surf without wifi

Seriously? CDMA phones, like the Fascinate, are not equipped to do data and voice simultaneously. You'd have to get a 4G phone.
Until more CDMA phones get the proper hardware/software that allow you to use 2 radio connections simultaneously or until 4G covers everything and Verizon starts using voice over LTE, this feature will not be vastly available.

Alternatively, you could hope that more phones use SVDO modems for CDMA, but since SVDO has been around for a while, and only the Thunderbolt has it afaik, that is probably useless as well.
I came across a way to add your voicemail password to the contact since the normal way is locked.
Go to the dialpad and type ##7764726
Press send
Click on SMS/MMS Settings
Go to Voicemail number
Add in a couple of pauses, your password and a # sign.
That's it.
Now heres the drawback, in your recent call list it will show the password. There is no way to stop that.

The normal way thru your call settings menu works just fine.

Your right. I didnt even look there. I remember that the DroidX was having issues with this at somepoint. I just assumed it wasnt working on the X2.

Ok thanks for the tip though. I never knew the dial pad string for some of those settings. Every piece of info contributes to the whole.

As long as 3g doesn't go out. Had that happen to me the last time I was on google voice during one of vzw's network hiccups.

Mine works on wifi too. If you register on the computer under your gmail account it will work better.

I have my Razr that got updated to 4.0.4 flashed to page plus. It only has 1x and no MMS though. I can deal with the 1x but I hate not having MMS, I have tried using the Android Messaging app and the CyberFlashing MMS app but neither of them worked. Any ideas or other MMS app suggestions?
Try GoSMS?
How did you get your Razr on pageplus? I'm pretty sure they don't allow 4G phone.

When did this change? Last year when I was on business travel, I always would use Google voice when I didn't have service in my hotel room.
I just tried it, and it did not work on WiFi

Just more bullsh from HTC. First complaint I've ever made about this device. I'm Ann htc fan thru and thru. But that was really handy when I didn't have service.

Well, thanks for the heads up because I'm heading out on another business trip on Monday. I guess I will be downloading this app.
