I just want to let everyone know, that the head of OpenSource Sony Ericsson has finally emailed me back! I emailed them a while ago asking for the sources for r800x. I guess they were lost and they are working diligently to recover these sources. Hopefully this will explode the development for CDMA plays! As soon as they are complete, I will post them here
EDIT: also, I need the version number of the 2.3.4 Stock kernel.

GPL by law. But not GPL by spirit. If that was the case, we could indeed just compile the thing and upload it to our phone. But no, they locked the bootloader..

Sorry to burst your bubble... but its Multi (2 point) touch for the X10.. not the e10 or u10 (Sony has said many times.. "no multi touch for the mini or pro") this update will probably just enable ANT to communicate with excersise and health monitoring devices. unless your a fitness freak or packing a pacemaker I wouldn't get to excited.

Sheesh the amount that this gets thrashed on here I am surprised people can get so excited about something we know isn't happening!

As far as the thread, people have been able to get NFC tags working as well as Android Beam. So, I'd say most of the things are working except Google Wallet, which on one part, is the most important use for NFC for a lot of us, but that's AT&T's fault, so...

It sux that we wait 6-8 months for the newest OS then only get to enjoy it for a couple months before the best one rolls in.

God only knows how long it'll be before we see it on this side of the Pond. Will this at least speed up the devs getting the source files they need to make custom kernels? The various "leaks" (aka free beta testing for Samsung) have been great- each better than the last, but I believe what they are REALLY waiting on is the source so they can really tweak the kernel.
Before anyone starts flaming on me, I am NOT asking for an ETA of anything.. just wondering out loud if the source files are typically released in short order and if the release for the Int'l Note will be sufficient for us here.
I dont believe a kernel source for the int note will help us since it is different software

Yes we have basically the same physical phone and the idea is the same but the internals are completely different, even if source comes out when I post this message it will have absolutely no benefit to us for kernel help. Apks maybe but beneficial software is a negative.

Most likely if you want to get the ota update or how ever ics comes to us you have to be out of the box stock which is achievable with the stock odin file. When the update comes out you can bet there will be a cwm or odin file on here to get it on your phone the same day so its up to you.

Alright, we could start seeing some progress on root/custom ROMs soon. With those things, I'd have no reason whatsoever to even consider the OnePlus 3
Just the kernel I think.
Does this include everything needed for a custom ROM? Camera HAL? Fingerprint sensor driver?

The kernel source code is what's needed from the manufacturer for custom Roms. Everything else can be extracted from the device. This can give a developer a headstart on device trees before the bootloader unlock.
