ROM Rollback - 7 Mozart General

Hi everyone. I`m a HTC Mozart owner . I bought it debranded , and i was quite happy withit... until i've encounterd the touch screen problems....
Since then i've sent it once to be repaired but i'm having the same issues...
Yesterday i came across this forum and found out that many people have been suffering the same problem.
So i decided to flash this official ROM : RUU_Mozart_S_HTC_Europe_5.11.401.01_5.71.09.02a_22 .51.50_RELEASE
hoping that the things would get better....unfortunatly i was wrong .
I'm having some problems since :
for example some hotspots are not beeng detected , that worked before...
The problem is i can't restore to the previous version i had which was this version :
RUU_Mozart_S_HTC_RUS_4.06.411.00_5.69.09_RELEASE.e xe
i'm geting the 226 error...
i'm desperate can you help me

Greetings,
Do you have a Zune backup of your Mozart that is pre-5.xx bootloader? If so you can restore it and return to the previous version although your bootloader will remain at 5.XX. If no backup, I'm not sure you can downgrade at this time.

Hey thank you for the replies... i had them yes , but the procedure(restore wizard) gives me errors.... then an update request came along for zune ... and i updated it , and now i don't have them...
can anyone send me the restore files? is it possible to use others restore files?

Updating official Orange UK rom - Need URGENT advice befor I do

Hi Guys
Apologies if I did not search hard enough (i tried), I am a total noob to android and hero (40 hours!) so need some urgent help please. I am preparing to update the ROM of my unlocked UK Orange Hero (it was unlocked by the seller I dont know how, but is working in Pakistan). The rom suitable for this is the orange UK rom at the htc UK site. If I update the rom normally, would it relock my phone?
Please help, need to know this before I update and I am aching to update...thanks a lot. If there are workarounds to this (for example, some other ROM, either official or unofficial that I can upgrade to without issues) please link me to it as am having trouble finding the right threads I guess if they exist.
Thanks again in advance for your help people!
11 reads and no advice? Guys please, need to make sure before I update, and I do not want to wait much longer to get rid of the lags...please
thanks
If once unlocked it stays unlocked, however there might be SPL issues.
SPL? pls elaborate a bit
If it is a Orange UK Hero, you will be able to update to the latest Orange UK ROM, and your device will still be unlocked.
I believe with the "SPL Issues" referred to by Lord Lucan are that you won't be able to "easily" replace the stock recovery image with something more capable. However, there are ways around this too, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Dave

Debranding HTC Hero- comments?

Hello. I have just received a new G2 (aka Hero) on T-mobile UK.
I am planning on doing this, please can you tell me if this would work:
1.Installing a recovery image
2.Booting into recovery and making a Nandroid backup
3.Installing a generic HTC Rom which has been packed into update.zip NB.Rom is a stock rom and therefore not rooted
As I understand after flashing I would lose rooting and would need to root again if I need to. However, I don't need to so am not too bothered.
I am hoping that this would remove T-Mobile branding, but mainly make the phone quicker as it is running the latest ROM. Would this technique work?
I would also like to know wether my sim-lock status would be affected?
Also if Donut/Android 1.6 is released OTA by HTC would my phone update OTA?
Finally, does that mean once I have flashed it, I will not be able to access the recovery partition thing which includes Nandroid etc.?
Please answer my questions and comment if you have any reservations/concerns about this. All comments are much appreciated.
bump-please help
Bit previous with the bump after such a sort time??
To answer your questions:
First of all, as long as your G2 still has the original Hero firmware, you are probably ok with your plan. If you've got the latest firmware, you'll probably have to use the gold card technique.
If you install a generic ROM, you'll lose most the T-Mobile branding, but to be honest there was very little anyway. The T-Mobile splash screen when you switch on will remain though.
SIM-lock has nothing to do with your ROM - it was locked before it will still be locked after you update the ROM, and vice versa.
Finally, on the subject of an OTA, who knows???!!! I really wouldn't worry about it.
Regards,
Dave
Thanks Dave. Does anyone else have anything to say?
new user, similar question.
got myself a T-mobile G2 yesterday, thinking that it's the same thing as HTC Hero. ok, it's only a software difference but now i'm unable to flash it.
software version is 2.73.116.61 which is T-mobile version of course, and comparing version numbers to recent ones it looks really outdated. is it? on T-mobile UK support pages it's even older one. tried to download official version but HTC says there is no support for my device, based on serial number. also tried to flash with newest downloaded from here but no luck, got error 131
so, what can I do? root or goldcard?
thanx
You will need to goldcard to downgrade your ROM, before you'll be able to "upgrade" it to a custom ROM.

Dave

Debranding Optimus Hero (ORANGE)
Hi everyone.
I am an Android rookie, but i am trying to learn more and more each day.
I bought recently a HTC Hero from optimus operator (Portugal) - Orange - and it came with 1.5 version of the OS. There is original 2.1 version but not for my operator.
I already made an goldcard for it, removed simlock, and rooted but now i would like to know step by step what to do?
what rom (original and generic) should i install to have 2.1?
How to do it, with goldcard inside cellphone?
It is possible to go back?
I have read in Q&A that some orange phones, whem the debranding is done, loose the network due to some radio network imcompabilities... how can i know if that is or is not my case?
I would be greatful for all the help someone could give me.
Many thanks
D_Saint
Look at the guides in the android development section of how to root. If the phone is running a very old firmware the likelyhood is that you won't need to downgrade and therefore may not need a goldcard. But basically, you need to root and install a recovery image then you can flash a rom from the hero development section.

[Q] New ROM - can I fix my performance problems?

Hello I have HTC Mozart T869 with Windows Phone 7.5 (mango) onboard and sometime I’m having performance problem - when phone is not used and I’m trying to answer the phone or rewind my audiobook telephone is not responding for my actions for a while. I have a question
1. Can anyone have this problem and can I fix this by Applying new ROM? – My college ha the same problem with this phone but another friends don't have this problem on others windows phone hardware
2. How can I find out my current ROM version? – I can see OS version (7.10.7720.68), Firmware revision (2250.21.40600.401), Hardware revision (0004) but I don’t see ROM version.
I gather quite a few people with Mozart's are experiencing similar problems since updating to Mango.
I and one of my daughter's Mozarts have this problem too, but my wife's Mozart does not. Clearly HTC need to address this asap - the phone has become frustratingly annoying in general use, and the effect is to detract significantly from the positive benefits Mango was supposed to bring.
I have read elsewhere that there is a new HTC update in the pipeline, to change the firmware to 2250.21.50001.707.
Here's hoping that this will address the problem.

Hello m8, you don't flash a rom right ? you just update your phone over Zune ?
Same Problem dont know any solution i update my mozart last oct 3 using force update.
Yes... I have regular updates only and I'm considering custom rom
the same problem. i have official mango not forced.
I have 2250.21.40600.401.
but look thew wrote that there will be change from 2250.21.40600.707 to 2250.21.50001.707 and we have .401 at the end. I don't know if it is important or not but my zune says that my phone is up to date.
Hi
Hi,

Firmware: 2250.21.40501.111
greetings Heiko
Ive got the exact same issue with the same firmware and hardware revision numbers as you dominik. It also only started after upgrading to mango

[Q] Returning to Stock Rom and Zune Updates

Hi Everyone,
I’m new to this forum.
I finally figured out how to unbranded my HTC Mozart (TMO-DE), after reading several posts from very helpful people like Ansar. The procedure I used was:
Flash TMO-DE 1.09
After the Flashing has failed and phone reboots
Flash another ROM (HTC-EU 1.30 or HTC-EU Mango)
And it worked...
Anyway after doing this, I noticed very little difference and so I would like to return to my original branded software.
So I flashed back one of the TMO-DE roms, (1.20, 1.25, 1.28). And it was back to what looked like the original software.
However when I connect my phone to Zune, I can’t get any updates.
I assume its because something has changed on my since I used TMO-DO 1.09.
Does anyone know how to return my phone back to its original condition?
Can anyone help me?
Many Thanks,
Daniel
More problems - Please Help!!
Now i have another problem, apart from not being able to get any updates.
Also it seems there is a problem with my bootloader.
I've lost the PD6700 and its been replaced by some strange unreadable characters. And now I cant change the ROM anymore.
Any ideas? Is there anyway to re-load the boot loader?
Thanks
The_Raul
try reading some of my posts, might help you
Hi i have the same problem. What can i do??
Same problem
I'm stuck with DFT 7713 ROM. I tried to go back to NoDo. I used the following NoDo version software "RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.30.401.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50_RELEASE" on my HTC Mozart. But it did not happen. Mine is an unlocked phone. Can someone please help me with the following questions?
1. If and when the official mango hits my region (India), would it automatically upgrade to the 7720? If so, I shall sit quiet.
2. If the answer for the first one is no, then how do I downgrade? Or is there a way to get rid of this DFT thing?
Thanks a lot. I'm kind of frustrated with this problem . Please help.
Greetings!
hi neusun,
AFAIK zune will not update custom ROMs. you will have to manually update. keep looking into the forums and you will find something. tons of ROMs and many, many talented guys are here. try ansar's ROMs.
yes its a pain in the ass but hey we chose command over convenience, right ?
