Having trouble with root on 2.3.4 - Motorola Droid X2

Alright as the title says I can't get root on 2.3.4 I've tried the one click method and after its done it says phone is rooted but the app drawer does not show the su app. I'm also not very good at using adb with no success I wasn't able to get that started. Can someone help me?

I recommend using the guide found here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315711
So, I assume you've used Pete's Rooting Tool, with that said, am I assuming correctly that, this tool is what said you were successfully rooted?
Also, what launcher are you running on your DX2? Some launchers give you the ability to hide apps in the app drawer and perhaps that app is hidden. A better way to check for this app would be to go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> "All Tab" -> Scroll and look for Superuser
I'd also give it another shot. Make sure you pay close attention to the steps provided, sometimes it's easy to miss one of the steps. If you're still having problems, post back some of the things you've checked and we can continue to help you troubleshoot the issue.

Using Petes one click I was never successfully rooted even tho on the computer screen it says I was successfully rooted.
The one thing I noticed while using Petes one click is that my phone is only rebooted once during the whole process. Also I'm running adw ex and the apps aren't hidden.

Try the new zerg method in the 2.3.5 leak post. It works pretty smooth although the petes one shouldwork for ya.

Pete's did the same for me way back when.. I used the attached instead with no problems. Found it somewhere on XDA back when 2.3.4 was found.http://bayfiles.com/file/1bXj/1SEtQA/DROID_3_easy_root_script_v7.zip

Make sure usb debugging is enabled. I had a similar problem.

I thought zerg was 2.3.5 only? But ill look it over.
thanks ill try that method and ill report back
And also debugging is enabled

Few Questions / Concerns

1. What is SBF?
2. Anyone facing lag issues with this phone?
3. What is your quadrant score? I got 2700
4. Any speed tips? Its a dual core yet it seems my Samsung Fascinate was faster???
5. How do I disable moto blur? I'm using GoDev Launcher instead. I heard motoblur is a memory hog
An SBF file is a file to restore your phone if something goes wrong. But we don't have one right now, so if it breaks it breaks. You can use gingerbreak to root it and freeze MOTOBLUR crap to make it a lot faster.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
I rooted it already with gingerbreak, but how do I freeze motoblur?
Another problem I'm having is when I install something in market and press home, the download pauses in status bar, until I click on the app and return to its market page, then it'll redownload again.
Bug?
Would appreciate help here please.
Thanks
Sorry no clue on your market issue I haven't heard of that one before and as far as blur goes... you can't really freeze blur.. its motorolas touchwiz (saw you came from a fascinate) but nitro is also from the fascinate and he wrote a great thread here on what's safe to freeze to clean the phones up a little bit. =) sorry on my phone so I can't link it but the title is "getting started with the X2" thread.
This should answer most of your questions on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104680

Madden NFL 12 Free Oct 1-3

Found this on slickdeals, Madden NFL 12 is free starting tommorow for 3 days only:
http://www.starstarmadden.com/
Some people on the slickdeal thread were mentioning that you had to have vcast installed to get the free game, which some of our roms have removed...
Sweet, could we download the app from the Market? Or off the VZW site?
Do you think it would matter if you had it or not since you have to call them?

Again, I think it does check if vcast is installed, which Eclipse .7 does not. Droid X2 2.2 is listed at the bottom of the page. I was going to sbf soon anyhow, so I'll try and see if that does the trick.

After I SBF'd back to Froyo it went to the download page rather than the 'not compatible' page.
That's fing stupid. Verizon needs to get its **** together. Every Dx2 should be running 2.3 now. I guess ill sbf back just to download this thing. Man alot of work for a free app ya know.

Can some one put the .apk up on media fire or something? Be easier than sbfing!

I already purchased Madden 12... It runs, but not very well. I've only played it once due to that issue.

Its supported its was suppose to read Droid X2 2.2+ (and up) but they didn't place it in the disclaimer.
Just open the VCast Apps and download it though there.

I'm on Eclipse .7 and when I open the vcast app, I get an error that states: "Unable to complete request."
I had no problem from eclipse 7 but the game sucks and comes with VZW spyware. Had an interesting folder called "red laser" show up with some interesting scripts inside. Didn't look into them at all though.

Mine installed fine BUT I noticed that it put some music that has "Greatest Hits" in title in one group. A big problem for me, going from one norm to the next just about scared the crap outta me thanks to the loud guitar riff in the beginning.

Try to wipe the app cache & data. And maybe dalvik cache in bsr. You can also run fix permissions in rom manager, it's one of the few things that work for us.

Need Google search apk

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to pull the stock google search apk from the X2 for me.
(No updates - after SBF, before market updates)
Thanks in advance!
Sent from my SCH-I405 using xda app-developers app
For Gingerbread? I'm on ICS so I dont know if that one would be the same. But can't you take a Gingerbread ROM and extract the files and take the google search apk from that?
Yeah, GB version. I could. Just don't have my X2 anymore so I deleted my files for it. All the ROMs and everything.
I'm at work though and can't use a computer yet
Sent from my SCH-I405 using xda app-developers app
Would the Eclipse one work? I can download it and extract the apk for you.
How about the "quicksearchbox" from CM7?
Here is the one from Liberty. May be more stockish.
Thanks, but those didn't work. I want it because the updated google search app does not change when the ICS go launcher theme is applied. Instead of the clear bar it displays the all white box which totally messes my phones look up. I ran into the same issue on the x2 but fixed it under settings, apps, manage apps, google search, uninstall updates. This phone is newer so its stock app is already updated. I think I need the stock x2 app from a sbf or something.
I emailed the dev about it when I had my x2 but no change yet
Sent from my SCH-I405 using xda app-developers app
Ah. Sorry those didnt work. I understand the whole "gotta have my phone look good" thing. I have OCD when it comes to that. lol
It's all goodie. Bought holo launcher plus. Much better than touchwiz. X 10000
