Request Your Custom Boot Animations here - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Hey Guys,
I wanted to offer this to anyone who didn't know how to do it. I can create custom boot animations for you from .avi or flash video formats.
Also, if you see one for another device anywhere and would like it modified for our device resolution, let me know and I will convert it.
I have tested all of these on my device, so they are confirmed working. If not let me know and I will fix it. I am not responsible for any problems caused by you doing something wrong in the flashing process.
Simply post post a url to your video. That's it. YouTube is a good source.
I will do them according to post order.
Here is where the ones I've done will be listed. They are all flashable in CWM recovery
Credit for Call of Android goes to this thread. All i did was make it flashable and optimize the resolution for our device.

What convertor do you use? This would be a fun thing to do. I'd like to make some too.

There are various sites that have online converters. Google and pick the one of your choice. Its really easy. search avi to png.

I'm sorry i'm not sure I completely understand. Are you asking us to give you a url of a boot animation on YT and you'll make it into one for ASGS2. Or are you taking requests from videos on YT and you'll make a custom boot out of the video. ?? Sorry for the trouble.

Hi, I would love to have the "glowing S" boot animation that is used with the Perception and Cognition 777 roms to use with Unnamed 1.3.1 ...Forgive my ignorance if this isn't possible to flash over or simply isn't cool to the dev. I'm new to the community and still learning the do's and don'ts. Either way THANKS!

I don't have a video of a specific one but would it be possible to make one resemble the old SEGA or Nintendo animations? Maybe even change it to say Android or SGSII in that font?
I made some crude animations of what I have in mind, if anyone is more animation savvy and willing to play with it please feel free to do so. These are very basic so please don't hate on them haha

Here is the file for that animation that you need to place in your system/media folder. Use root explorer and copy and paste. Be sure to rename original bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.bak.
I tested it and it does work, however it doesnt have the sound, which I would rather not have anyway personally, but if you do want the sound let me know and I will work it up to.

Stock AT&T boot animation?
I know, I know...why, why, why?
I'm looking for a way to reinstate the stock AT&T boot animation. Any ideas?
My reason is to give the appearance of stock bootup even though I am running root and Zedomax OC kernel. I already have my jig to reset the flash count (lost the yellow ! triangle - - YAY!!)

I guess what I mean is, change your title to something like "System Sound File Repository" and request for people to submit their .oog files. Then if it gets a good following with many contributions, we can ask mmelo76 to sticky it.

Using Root Explorer navigate to system/media and find the .zip you put there. Long press it and select Permissions. It should be set up as follows:
User: Read, Write
Group: Read
Others: Read
See if that helps, though Im not a Gingerclone user so YMMV.

[Q] Need help making a boot animation for thunderbolt

I have tried a multitude of the other guides for other devices, but so far no luck. I have the pt1 and pt2 folders set up just need to know the config for thunderbolt.
Thanks
Garrett
Drop pt.1 pt.2 into "bootanimation.zip" Use Root Explorer to copy it to the system/media folder. Make sure its the right folder, check "system/customize/resources" if not media if you didn't know. Text file in zip. Works for my thunderbolt running Bamf Sense3.0 RC4.9 Running stargate bootanimation.
http://db.tt/boP69kE
Take wife, take car, don't touch my Thunderbolt...
I dropped a link to my bootanimation.zip file. Just add your pt.1 pt.2 to the zip and drop it in your "system/media" or "system/customize/resources" file, which ever one it is. Use Root Explorer, if you didn't know that is. Use at own risk. I don't know what you files are. Make nand backup always....
Take wife, take car, don't touch my Thunderbolt...
You need a .txt file to let the phone know what part to run when and at what fps but I can't remember the code, my suggestion is to find your stock ani and look inside it for this

try this one
http://www.mediafire.com/file/e6eajlp9paa7up0/bootanimation.zip
OK so I looked at your ani and this is what I suggest
First the only folders that should be in the zip is part 1, part 2, and the desc.txt
When I opened your zip these files were inside two other folders
Second change the PNG numbers to start at 1 (they currently start at 3
Third change the numbering to 3 digits instead of what you have now. Ie 001....etc
I can't guarantee this will fix it but its all I got. Lol

You have to Root your Photon 4g 1st...
Just follow this site and follow the steps to Root your Phone..
Its so Simple... Just a Click of a button you have your Photon Rooted..
Make sure you enable Android Debugging and Allow Unknown Source in Apps settings..
Root
After than, Just paste the Bootanimation.zip folder in your sd card or internal storage.
( You have to Rename it to bootanimation.zip )
Then Use Root Explorer and go into System/media and paste it over there..
When you get Permission Request on Superuser click Allow..
Thats all..
Reboot and Enjoy your New Boot Animation.

After installing your animation I found another I wanted to try out, however yours seems to be here for the long haul.
I've even gone as far as deleting the animation zip entirely and then rebooting, with no luck. Is there some back up that it draws from in the case that the files are not present?
Honestly I keep expecting your animation to say " Resistance is futile".. Any ideas?

HTC Amaze 4G Bootanimation UPDATED 01/26/12(flashable)

Welcome back everyone from the SOPA blackout. I hope it raised awareness.
So I rooted my girls Amaze last night. I grabbed her bootanimation since I thought it was pretty cool lil bootanimation. It works very good on the mt4g so I decided I should share it since I've not seen anyone post it. Nothing fancy, just thought it was cool. Hope you guys like it.
DISCLAMER: Always do a back up of your current rom before making any changes. I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your device. ITS YOUR DEVICE. You know the risks.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1: download folder file from link below(link is to my box) which contains bootanimation zip
2a: rename zip to htc_bootanimation.zip for sense roms
2b: rename to bootanimation.zip for asop roms
3: change permissions
4a: move to correctsponding place system/costumize/resource for sense
4b: system/media for asop
5: reboot and enjoy
Ive also attached the sound if some one want to tackle on making it work. Im only able to have the start up sound work but not the actual bootanimation sound.
To install sound just extract the wav and mp3 from zip attached and move to same place bootanimation is located. remember to set permissions.

Thanx HKM for flashable zip credit goes to him.
NOTE: For sense users, the flashable zip won't work when flashing. But will still work if extracted and files are place in system/costumize/resource manually. I've tested this method myself and confirmed working, audio and everything. Follow same steps as on top of OP to install manually.

I fully tested it on CM7.2RC0AOSP2.3.7GB and boot/auido all works. If you having problems flashing it make sure you mount /System from CWMR.

im still able to see and click on links with the xda app. right now as i type im on a pc and the links are still not clickable. unless they were always supposed to be copied and paste to the address bar?
either way i downloaded your zip by copying the link you posted. im about to check it out.
OP updated with flashable zip. Thanx to HKM. Thanx man it worked perfectly with sound. I had to extract and place the zip and audio manually because I'm on sense. But everything worked great.

For some reason, I can't download the flashable zip. I go to the site but it doesn't give me an option to dl the file. Is there any way you can re-upload the file?
Thanks.

Sorry man. Flashable zip was hkm thing. I don't know how to make it flashable myself. Try the manual install. It's very easy to do.

In sense and aosp the file name is bootanimation.zip. the htc_bootanimation.zip is just short for logo. I have mine ( in sense) the bootanimation.zip in /system/customize/resource. Use the Boot Animation Factory to create your own or preview the zip file.
Thanks it worked for me... I just used romtoolbox to set it and it worked just fine :victory:
