Force reset on NT - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

Just throwing this out there. I was able to force the NT to force reset itself by interrupting the boot process around 8 times. I was hoping it would give me a choice to boot from SD card, this was not the case, it jumped right into a reset and then a "Resotring Factory Software".

can someone help me figure out what's wrong?

Ok, so i installed the cyanogen 7.0.3 update to the gtablet and it worked fine. I then went into settings and tried to erase the sd card, thinking it would format the 16 gigs of internal memory cause i had so many programs and files on it that i wanted to clean up. After i erased the sd, i hooked it up to the computer to browse the files and noticed that nothing was erased. I was like whatever and just tried to restart it just for the hell of it. Once i restarted it would get stuck in a recurring cyanogenmod logo boot loop. Nothing i did would fix it i tried a wipe of the data, the cache, a reset, and finally after none of this worked. I did the nv flash and pushed the original o.s. to the device. However, i still get stuck in a boot loop, this time with the gtab logo as it is what comes up under the original o.s.... Is there anything i can do? Do any of you have an idea as to how to proceed, or did i seriously brick this somehow? I'm at a total loss....any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
i also tried to get into some recovery the way you would under clowkwork but all it does is show an exclamation point with a triangle logo around it then shuts off to reboot.
I asume that you nvflash to a 1.1 bootloader.
so now nvflash clockworkmod. 08 mount usb and put a update file to restore(cm or stock) (next time you want clear sd you may use your pc to do it, be aware of not delete directory starting with a dot and you can afect some apps.) , after clean dalvik, user data & cache if boot loop ocurs.

[Q] Restoration Issues (SD card and factory reset failure)

Hi,
Issue: After rooting my Nook Tablet I inadvertantly rebooted into factory reset. I cancelled the reset but after this point whenever I boot the device the following occurs:
The nook copyright screen appearsThe reading forever screen flashes for a fraction of a secondThe download/restore indicator with the green arrow appears for a fraction of a secondThe nook tablet logo appears with an exclamation mark with the instruction to "Please restart your device and try again. If you encounter the same issue please contact customer service ..."
Attempted Fixes: Naturually I have tried rebooting resulting in the same process being repeated. I have also tried the acclaim_update.zip sd fix but have had no luck running it from the sd. I have also tried the 8 x reboot method to no avail. Any attempts to use adb have thus far failed (the device is not even detected properly).
I understand that everyone is busy but if anyone has any suggestions I would be much obliged. I do not live in the US so returning the device is extremely difficult. I run Linux and have an XP virtual machine available.
Thanks for your time
Have you tried booting cwm from an sd card and then reinstalling a stock rooted rom like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1488035
Unfortunately no luck booting cwm from sd - I have not managed to get anything to boot from sd. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Did you try to boot from sdcard while connected to your PC with the USB cable?
Sent from XDA premium using my Nook Tablet
Update: Issue resolved - I ended up using AdamOutler's Ubuntu Wipe, which did hang indefinitely on the 'Overwriting sys with zeros' stage but did actually result in a factory reset.
Thanks to lavero.burgos and nba1341 for their assistance. I did successfully manage to boot CWM off an sd (my mistake was not formatting it as a boot partition), however I was unable to successfully flash any roms. Anyway I'm back to normal and ready to try again. Thanks all!

Rooting a phone stuck on start up

Hi, I've had a quick search and couldn't find anything that matches my question.
My S3 is stuck on the flashing 'Samsung' screen, I've tried connecting it to my pc to restore it with Kies but it won't load up. I've never tried to root it so could I put the phone into download mode and root it then save my data?
I've done a far bit of reading trying to fix it and I've started the phone in boot mode and wiped the cache but I need to get my data off the phone.
I'd be grateful for any help. Thanks:good:
Edit: I rooted it because I got bored of waiting and it still isn't getting past the flashing Samsung screen any ideas?
Try flashing the exact same firmware with Odin, disable kies first.
This might allow your phone to boot but you'll probably have to factory reset anyway. If done in recovery this shouldn't wipe the internal sd card, but you will lose all apps and settings etc.
For the phone to spontaneously stick during boot usually means a corruption issue, most often of the internal storage.

[Q]DigiLand DL1010Q softbricked

Ok, here is the deal and I hope someone can help me. I have a cheap DigiLand DL1010Q tablet to play around with. It is stock, but I rooted it with KingRoot. There was a recent OTA wireless update and after it was installed it said that it needed to go into recovery mode to install and reboot. I selected install now and reboot. This is where my problem started and has remained. It loaded into recovery mode and is in an endless boot loop. I've tried rebooting it, recovery with the recovery file and every manual reset possible to no avail. DigiLand support said that I should power down the tablet, and while holding down the Volume Down (-) hit the power button and it will boot into a Chinese recovery mode. I've tried that and it just stays on the DigiLand screen forever. (I left it there for 8 hours.) I can sideload via ADB and the drivers are installed, but it will not let me load anything. It states that the bootloader is closed. I receive the same message via Fastboot. Now here is the interesting thing. Even after selecting the factory reset within the Recovery Mode, everything is still there. I have wiped the cache and partition and user data, but nothing really happens. It is still all there. I see the recovery file, but it will not load. All I see is NO Command.
I do have a sd card that I could flash things on, but it doesn't seem to register the card. It sees the sdcard, but that is the internal drive. How do I get it to look at the sdcard that I put into the slot? Is there a bootloader unlock? Does anyone have the factory image that I can put on my sdcard? HELP!!!!
I am fairly good with computers and have rooted phones and tablets before, but I seem to be hitting my head on a bricked wall - no pun intended. Let me know what programs, files or whatever. At this point I am willing to try anything. I can send it back to China for $50 for them to redo it, but I only paid $69 for it and I'm not going to put more money into this cheap tablet. I would just like to get it to work.

[Q] Android encryption failed, factory reset doesn't help

My encryption failed, forcing me to factory reset my S4 mini :crying: But when I hitteed the factory reset button, it wiped my data (took a minute or so), reeboted, and I landed at the same screen as before. Also wiping cache, dalvic cache, and formatting /data didn't help
I've read severeal very old threads here, saying that you got to reinstall the stock firmware. Is this still possible??? Can somebody tell me where to get the right 3 part firmware for my S4 mini (DTM)???
How the encryption problem occured
HELP!!! My phone forces me to factory reset, but the SD-Card encryption key will be lost then!
I can still reach the recovery and got a backup from Titanium of all apps on my SD-Card (thank god I did it yesterday). But the SD-Card is encrypted, and the key will be lost in case I do the factory reset. I can still access the CMW recovery and even can backup the system (just /data is still not working), ADB is enabled. Does anybody know how to safe the SD-Card key/unencrypt the SD-Card?
PS. I still know date and time when I did the encryption of both storages
How the failture happened:
I started the unencryption progress, and went out of my room, the phone still plugged in.
A few minutes I came back, the screen was still black. It also didn't reacted when you pressed a key. I thought something went wrong and the phone shut down complety, so I pressed the power button for a few secs. Then it booted, but then I got the message that I got to factory reset my device.
It seems like the unencrypting has never started, but the device thinks it has started, and therefore fails to boot.
Bump
Please help me, all my game stats are stored on the SD Card and it would be horrible if I would loose them:crying:
Another bump
Other problem now, so I brought the thread back to the top
