Hi I purchase my phone to a friend that had already flashed it with odin, now I want to use KIES to upgrade my roms it is easier for me.
I heard that what is important is the csc file to change but I am in switzerland and I don't know what csc file too add to do the trick so that Kies will upgrade my phone.
Could you please help me ?
thanks
You need to install the original rom that came with phone via ODin first only then will kies recognise it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928&highlight=official+kernel
you can try there to check the original for your carrier flash it with odin and then kies should recognise your device as upgradable.
Although I would suggest you stick with Odin as you can get to flash latest rom on Odin first then wait for kies

Hi friends, previously I had an official rom and it was supported by kies, after a period I flashed my phone to ICS 4.0.3 xxlpb..(I know this is un official and not recognized by kies),,when I reflashed again to stock firmware (JPKF3) using this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 again the kies is not recognize my phone and it says (your device can not support software upgrading) my current firmware is I9100JPKF3/I9100OJPKF2/I9100XXKF1/I9100JPKF3 (KOR)...and I'm living in kurdistan (north of IRAQ),can some one suggest me a firmware which will be supported by kies so as to be able to upgrate my phone officially by kies to ICS in the future...I will be very gratefull...
note: when i flashed via odin I loaded files as follows:
PDA:CODE_I9100JPKF3_CL303619_REV02_user_low_ship.tar
CSC:GT-I9100-MULTI-CSC-OJPKF2.tar
PHONE:MODEM_I9100XXKF1_REV_02_CL1017274.tar

If you have made a nandroid backup of your previous Gingerbread system, flash a kernel containing CWM recovery and restore the nandroid backup.
If you have not made a nandroid backup of your previous Gingerbread system, then you have to identify, download and flash the latest stock ROM released by Sasmung for your phone in your region.
You can use Check Fus Downloader (from here => http://fus.nanzen.se/).
After flashing the correct firmware to your phone, KIES should recognize it again.
Please backup everything important before flashing.
Good luck !
i have my galaxy s3 from orange england i unlock it and root it i conect it with kies i fine in kis a new update after this update i dont fine the cwm icon only SU icon a month after this i instal an officiel rom from sammobile i like it 4.1.2 one week after this i reinstal the same rom and now my mobile cant take updates from kies or odin and i cant root it !!
anyhelp please ????
sorry for my bad english im talking french ..
my galaxy is GT-I9300
is your device rooted? if it is you should just follow the instructions
1.hold volume up + home + power buttons to see the recovery mode
2.intsall zip from sd card (for a custom rom)
if you want the official rom just use odin
1.download odin
2.plug the device in download mode (volume down + home + power)
3.add the official rom in pda section then click the start
if you think u have a u should be clear
Not sure what you mean by odin updates. Odin doesn't do updates. You find a rom yourself and flash using odin. I'm pretty sure kies doesn't let you update rooted phones.
I suggest the same as above. Try installing a custom rom through recovery. You may have flashed unrooted official rom which means you have to root it again to get supersu back.

Well writing in understandable English would be a thing to start with.
You cannot update a phone trough kies when it is rooted. Kies will abort the update and give you a message which tells your device is rooted.
I would suggest you try to get into recovery mode and restore a nandroid backup.
If that's not working try flashing an official rom trough odin and root your phone again afterwards.
You could aswell go to a nearby orange shop and ask a salesman to restore the official firmware. (they have all the packages there ).
sorry
Sorry for my bad english i flash an officiel firemware In odin from sammobile now when i try to updat my s3 in kies i cant and also when i try to flash the last firemwar kies stop on get pit for mapping !!! Itry to change usp ports nothing work
Don't use kies. Just use odin to flash whatever firmware you need.
You won't be able to update using kies as your device status will be "modified". You need to unroot and factory reset to get it back to official.
As for not being able to root your device, flash xxella firmware from sammobile and flash siyah 1.8.7 kernel in cwm recovery. I can verify that definitely works.

Im trying the xxell1 but again odin stop on get pit for mapping ! nothing working
My guess is your pit partition is messed up. I suggest you search for a way to sort the pit mapping problem. I've seen some people recommend downloading a pit file from sammobile for your firmware.
Otherwise you'll have to send it off to repair centre.

The one you want to flash. I think they're all the same. This is an inference from the fact that we don't use pit files when flashing new firmwares under normal circumstamces.

hello experts........ recently i have update my phone via OTA received .............. after the updation my usb connection to pc not working........ after the lot of search and solution ........ i have decided to go on flash Original factory rom............. please give me link for original stock rom 4.1.3
and my phone is not root........there is need of rooting or not ????????//
please help me.......... i appreciate your replies.
THERE IS NO stock rom 4.1.3 . if you want you can use kies to upgrade or initialise your phone firmware. or if you like you can flash any rom from sammobile.com just make sure the rom is for your phone. check model no. all firmwares are official.the firmware packages include odin . a tool for flashing. follow instructions. extract zip ands flash md5 file in pda in odin. DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING OTHER THAN PDA. if the phone doesn't boot or boot loops. factory reset phone should get it to boot up . also the usb connection can be fixed from kies . kies will install the drivers to enable the usb connection. If you do decide to flash by using odin . make sure kies is not running while you are u0sing odin.THERE ARE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS IN THE STICKIES HERE http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344125 NO NEED TO ROOT

hi thanx for reply........... sorry it was 4.1.2 ........... not 4.1.3 ...you are right............
When i plug my phone into my laptop and open kies it says
"your firmware version is not supported to update via kies" what's wrong? It's odin stock rom
Odin is not a stock rom.
If you flashed a different rom using odin at some point then you've probably broken your kies route to an upgrade, use odin instead.
Okay thankyou i thought flashing an official firmware made it all work

Follow the steps I've mentioned in this forum yesterday.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/fix-samsung-s2-booting-root-reset-t3087729
This should fix the issue, and then you can restore back and update your phone or flash custom ROMs.
Regards
i'm trying to download from rapidgator from 2 days but i can't, it always breaks!
and it can't be resumed
http://samsung-updates.com/details/23417/Galaxy_S_2/GT-I9100/VOD/I9100XWMS2.html
I have a stucked i9100 too.
If i choose a pit file, and select Re-partition, Odin stucked in SetPartition.
if i not checked, the re-partition, Odin stucked in data.img (3 files) or sbl.bin (1 file)
the same problem
always stuck in: NAND write start!!
help please
note:
when i falsh a recovery (like:CWM-KitKatCompatible-i9100.tar) it flashed well, but i can't access the recovery!
phone ssn: i9100GSMH
is it necessary to flash any pit file?
pit file should not be necessary, its main purpose is to re-partitionate the device. If you are already happy with your setup you don't need to flash it to update firmware.
Remember to choose the firmware for the right region for you, the link you posted is for VOD Region (United Kingdom Vodafone).
i think the problem is in the region, i've tried many regions but no one worked.
how to know my phone original firmware region?
Edit: phone flashed sccuessfully.
the problem was that the version printed in the phone is I9100, and the real phone's firmware is I9108.
