I am using Xboarder56's method to go back to stock, but so far I have had no success.
1.First Download these 2 files
: ClockworkMOD Backup Stock 1.36.351.5
: Stock Amaze Recovery (PH85IMG.zip)
2.Delete Old Clockwork folder off your sdcard both internal/external
3.Copy to the root of your external sdcard (main sdcard, DONT PUT IT IN ANY OTHER FOLDER)
5.Reboot into hboot (volume down and power)
6.Boot in to clockworkmod form hboot
7.Wipe data/system
8.Choose Restore/Backup
9.Choose Restore and select the one with 2011-10-26.01.14.34
10.Wait for it to restore
11.CHoose Wipe data/system one more time after its complete
12.Go to mounts and mount sdcard in recovery
13.Copy over PH85IMG that you downloaded eairler
14.Reboot into Hboot select update
15.Reboot once again to normal rom
16.Download superoneclick root from here: SuperOneClick Root
17.Extract it and run superoneclickroot.exe
18.Click Unroot
19.Its complete
I am having problems in the 5th step and the 9th step. When i put both of the files on the Ext SD main drive and go into hboot, it immediately pops up for update (I don't do that Bc it doesn't say that to?).. As for the 9th when i go into recovery (i use quickboot to go straight into recovery) when i do the full wipe and go to restore, it says no file found, my question where is the File??
2011-10-26.01.14.34
THANKS ALOT FOR YOUR HELP GUYS!!

use the ruu method thats better

thankyou for posting in development thread.
Needs to be moved to Q & A
Can you see it in root explorer or Rom Manager?
I dont have root explorer but i do see it in astro
Lol.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Which version of cwm are you using? Maybe flash the most recent recovery again. I prefer romracers.

[Q] Help backup and flash ics!!!

I am new with this phone, I really have read all the tuts and almost every thread but i have some questions, i want to flash ICS but i want to have a backup of my Rom(gingerbread), i have search for my rom on sammobile and on the thread and it doesnt appear is from iusacell carrier in mexico
Product code-GT-I9100LKLIUS
PDA- I9100UHLA2
CSC- I9100IUSLA1
PHONE- I9100UHKK1
what i should do? and where i can get the stock rom?
you have to Root and install CWM your phone for backing up the Current (GB),
Read the guides for rooting, Backing up, flashing Roms etc.. from : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442549
CF-root is the best method for rooting, which will give you CWM also.
read the CF-root link from my signature and select the one (LA2) for your phone.
Hey,
just a few steps:
1) Download Odin (http://androidfirmwares.net/Tools)
2) Download root kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399)
-- just scroll down and search for ur version (LA2)
3) Flash it via Odin
-- Extrect .zipl
-- load the root kernel in Odin (as PDA)
-- Put SGSII in download mode (Vol-, Home and Powerbutton)
-- Press "Start"
4) Then start phone in recovery mode (Vol+, Home and Powerbutton)
5) Check if u have enough space for backup on sd card (to be sure: 2GB)
6) Go to:
-- Backup and restore
-- Backup to internal sd card
-- confirm it and then let do the phone the backup (can take a while [5-20 min])
U r done with Backup!!!
Now start the process for ICS.
If u want a Custom Rom:
1) Choose one and download
2) Put on sd internal sd card
3) Go into recovery mode (see above)
4) DO A FULL WIPE!! (U won't loose ur backup on sd card [but u copy it to PC, too if u want])
-- wipe data/ factory reset
-- wipe cahe partition
-- advanced > wipe dalvik cache
-- mount and storage > format data/system/cache
5) Then flash Rom via recovery
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from sd card
-- Select the downloaded Custom Rom and flash it
6) Reboot and u r done!
If stock firmware:
a] Via Kies
b] Flash firmware via Odin
1) download actual ICS firmware -- Link
2) Load Files in Odin -- Link
Link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Hope I could help.
CHEERS
You might find your firmware of GB on Checkfus that can be flashed any time via Odin .

[Q] Can't mount sdcard on Stock Recovery ICS 4.0.3 GTI9100

hello xda, I've searched for this answer to no avail so I'm now asking this, why is it that my stock recovery won't mount my sdcard on my ICS GT-I9100GT with everything stock at 4,0.3 ICS? I'm following this guide to root my phone and eventually install MIUI 4, my priority now is rooting the damn thing haha, but I'm stuck if I can't mount the sd on stock recovery I can't use the temporal cwm that the guide talks about
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746794
For most (if not all?) ICS phones having a CWM image at Clockworkmod site:
Quote:
Download attached cwm-touch-6.0.x.x-i9100.zip for the i9100 Galaxy S2. This is the touch version but it also works with volume up/down keys and power button to select menu.
CWM6 is now thought to be probably safe for wipe, no superbrick risks under ICS 4.0.4: read more here
I also attached the cwm6 non touch version and the recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.5-galaxys2.zip. CWM4 is also confirmed to be safe for wipe by Entropy512 Recognized Developer
For other phones, download the cwm image from here http://clockworkmod.com/rommanager
.
Put the previously downloaded cwm-touch-6.0.x.x-i9100.zip file on your external sd card
Download the attached root file you want as per instructions above
I advise Chainfire SuperSU for 2 reasons: it lets you unroot from within superSU application and it lets you migrate to ChainsDD superuser if you like later
Copy the Root_XXX.zip file you downloaded to internal or external sd card
Boot into stock recovery (volume up+home+power), and select "apply update from external storage". Now select the cwm-touch-6.x.x.x-i9100.zip file you copied in previous step (this step gives a temporary flash that will disappear after reboot)
You get CWM recovery interface (this custom recovery is temporary, not permanent)
Inside CWM, select "install zip from sdcard". Then, select "choose zip from sdcard". Now, scroll down to the "Root_XXX.zip" file and hit power button to install it.
It will add SuperSU or Superuser last version apk to system/app, last superuser binary (su) to system/xbin and busybox last version to system/xbin, all with correct file permissions.
Reboot and you get permanent root + busybox installed on your stock kernel.
To unroot, do the above steps and replace the file Root_XXX.zip by the attached Unroot_SuperUser-Busybox-Uninstaller-Update2-signed.zip. It will delete superuser, su and busybox packages.
For a complete removal of busybox, look here at my Busybox Uninstaller which will remove ALL busybox symlinks (over 600 files depending on installers used before):

[Q] htc one m8 - Please help restore stock Nandroid backup

Hello experts, I am a completely newbie. I just bought the HTC One m8, and I managed to install twrp, I then watched a video from youtube which showed me how to back up my stock ROM into the *internal* unit using twrp. The video did not mentioned I have to copy the file to the micro SD card first. The video continues to wipe the internal drive, and then do a restore (from the sd card). Unfortunately, when I do the same, wipe the internal drive, and then try to do a restore, only to find that the image is no where to be found in the internal drive. I didnot have a backup in the sd card. I try to look for the image file in the internal drive and I couldn't find the backup file. I came to this site and from the "collection of stock backups" thread and downloaded the nandroid backup for my HTC One m8 which is the "CID BS_US001". I then use my PC to copy this 2.22.1540.4.zip file into my sd card, put the sd card into the HTC unit and go into recovery mode in the twrp (down volume and power), and try to do a restore via the restore button, but it does not work. I don't know exactly the procedures I need to take to restore this stock ROM back to my phone. I want to thank you for providing this file, and I hope the experts here will not find my question a nuisance. I really needed help, I try to take the unit to a shop and they couldn't help. I now have the backup image file downloaded from collection of stock backups. I know the answer is pretty easy, please help. Thanks.

What part of it doesn't work? Can you not find the file? Does it give an error message? Info like that will be very helpful for us to help you.
Thank you es0tericcha0s, I put the 2.22.1540.4.zip file in the sd card. This is the nandroid zip file I downloaded in COLLECTION of Stock backup's for my HTC One m8 model. I did not use the linux adb command to push the file into the sd card, I just just Windows 7's file copy method to copy the zip file to the card. I supposed this means the same thing. I use twrp recovery method, and have already installed the twrp tool into my HTC, the HTC is *unlocked* but I am not sure if it is rooted as well. I booted the HTC by pressing the down volume button and the power button, I went into recovery mode. When I clicked the restore icon in the twrp menu, the internal storage is empty, there is a message that saids internal storage (25404 mb) at the top, I supposed that can't be my original backup nandroid file (too small), the nandroid file downloaded in COLLECTION of Stock backup is located in my sd card (the zip file). I don't know how to find the zip file in the sd card (what button combinations to press etc). There are 3 buttons in the bottom of the restore screen, the middle button when pressed, bring me into the screen that saids in the bottom updating partition details .... Full SELinus support is present (without the usb cable hooking to the PC).
So to summarized, my questions are:
1). does the 2.22.1540.4.zip file in my sd card is all I need for the backup image, do I need to unzip the file first and then change a few things, renaming boot.emmc.win to boot.img, etc.
2). how to get to the sd card to select this file to do a full restore.
3). Does the file 2.22.1540.4.zip found in COLLECTION of Stock backup truly is a saved file to restore, i.e., the actual original backup file. It seems big, at 1.5 gb.
Thank you for any help.

Ok, now I see where you are at. This should be easier than you think. So here's what you'll want to do:
Reboot to TWRP
Go to Backup ( I know, counterintuitive, but stay with me...)
Backup just the boot.img (This is to create the correct backup folder name/layout)
Unzip the nandroid zip and move all the .img and other files into the TWRP backup folder that has the boot.img that you backed up in it - just overwrite the boot.img you have there
Now go to Restore and you should see your option there now.
Your version of TWRP most likely has a file manager (under Advanced) and you should be able to unzip and move the necessary files all within TWRP. Make sure to pay attention to which storage option you are in if you have internal and external storage options.
If the restore is successful and the phone still does not boot, then return to recovery and perform a reset. If it still does not boot after that, then you'll need to copy the boot.img to a PC and use fastboot to install that.
Thank you es0tericcha0s
Thank you es0tericcha0s,
Based on your response, I am now able to do a full restore of the HTC One m8 stock ROM. What I did was to unzip the Nandroid backup file first and then copied the whole unzip directory into the twrp/backup folder, I then just do a normal restore from the twrp recovery menu, and it worked beautifully. Thanks again.
