Hello XDA members
2 weeks ago i bought a brand new Neo V and fully updated it from SEUS
1 week ago i started reading your forums [facepalm]
Yesterday i followed a series of tutorials on the Neo V Development forum and i managed to brick my phone [facewall!!!]
What i did :
1) Download lots of stuff!!!
a) .42 ftf file from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19808360&postcount=3
b) flashtool from it's original website
c) DoomKernel's rooting script
d) CWM script from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19733978&postcount=1 (the 1st way)
e) S1tool from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18013064&postcount=44
2) Use them ALL!!!
a) Install and extract where necessary
b) put .42 in C:\flashtool\firmware
c) put everything else in C:\SETools\ to act tidy
3) Feel like McGuyver!
a) used needle & wire to unlock bootloader with s1tool [success]
4) Take the big step!
a) flash .42 firmware with flashtool [all OK]
phone took it's time to reboot, scared me to death! at least 4 full minutes :/
b) use flashtool to root from the Advanced>Root>ZergRush menu [Fail]
it seems flashtool failed after first part.
c) used DoomKernel's script and rooted phone [all OK]
d) reboot and enjoy! [all OK]
.42 firmware was ok, root ok, boot was slow.. other than that everything worked. (except market, could not download anything!)
e) used Upgrade Service from phone menu and found .62 OTA upgrade. [Failed]
phone downloaded the new firmware, i pressed install, that was it.
And thus my Neo V rebooted to complete the upgrade to .62
The upgrade was never completed, the phone never turned on again.
No SE logo, no led, no nothing!
Everytime i press the power button nothing happens, if i keep it pressed for some time the led flashes green every second.
Everytime i connect it to the PC usb it goes to flash mode on it's own, no back key pressed.
When plugged on charger led flashes green every second.
Last thing i tried was to reflash it (since it went on flashmode) with .42 again.
Nothing there
Still, i would like to see it alive once more since 200 euro for a green led is not really a bargain
Any help appreciated!!
Ok if the pc recognizes it you should be able to resurrect it with pccompanion, seus or wotan client
Sent from my MT11i using Tapatalk
Will try, though phone is not really recognised..
it functions only as when turned off and pressing back button while connecting to pc usb.
EDIT : Installed SEUS again and tried to do an upgrade (only option available through support zone)
Failed first couple of times, then it popped up a new window asking to repair since update is not working.
Asked me phone model and downloading ATM, will report soon
EDIT 2 : Nothing with Pc Companion or SEUS. It reflashed the phone with .62 firmware but the phone is in the same state.
About Wotan Client, i would love to try it but i have no idea how to install it or run it, it asks for credits and i don't think reflashing will help in this case.
wotan flashing is free bro, just download their client and follow steps most probably u will get ur fone back to ur life. best of luck !
Just a thought, the phone acts as if the back button is constantly pressed and i find that VERY weird..
Also, SEUS discovers the phone as "Sony / Sony Ericsson" (?), is it possible that this has to do with the s1tool driver i installed before while unlocking the bootloader?
wow, thats what i call entire history of your phone
anw you experienced OTA brick. because you have unlocked bootloader.
strange, some people get brick some don't, with un-official(s1tool) method.
but with official, everyone get brick.

OTA brick? The tutorials i followed requested me to upgrade with OTA to have .62 with root. Where they wrong?

they werent wrong, but if I think on which tutorial you mean, it says its for people with locked bootloader.
now when you have unlocked bl, your life is easier
you can simply use custom kernel which have root included in itself
go to dev section, you can use galaxian or bbooff kernel.
while you are there check sticky threads to see how to flash kernel.
after you read those, ask if you have any question.

Thank you all SOOOOOO much!!!
Wotan worked, my phone is up and running on .42!!!
So now about tweaking a bit, those kernels support official roms only,
if i wanted to go for something more goodlooking, faster, nicer.. what would you suggest?
No, those kernels arent only for official rom's.
And about custom roms, I'm not the one to talk about it much, as I'm not so much into custom roms dont have enough time to test them.
so you will need to go trough development section and find something you like. remember you can also look in neo section, most of the roms can work on your phone with minor modifications.
also remember, first read then install
So.. i managed to have a working phone and now i am trying to flash galaxian.
i went on cmd, started fastboot with appropriate command and plugged in phone pressing the menu button.
Now in device manager i can see "S1boot Fastboot" and it is not recognised, what am i suppossed to do????
-turn off your phone.
-hold menu key(the right one )
-connect cable
-you should see blue light on led on the side, do you see it?
-go to folder where you have fastboot.exe file
-hold shift key and right-click of mouse anywhere in that folder except on files
-sellect start comandprompt here(or something like that)
- type fastboot devices
-tell if it says something.
Seems like you didn´t install drivers for fastboot...
i thought they are included in adb drivers !?
Well i have installed the whole android sdk with it´s drivers.
As long as it is unrecognized in Windows (no drivers installed) S1Tool has no Chance to detect it

u havent installed the correct drivers, connect the phone again in fastboot mode, go to device manager, select s1tool fastboot, click update driver, browse for it manually and point it to the the folder in which you have fastboot, done.
Wow! Wotan client can unbrick a phone that bricked with OTA?
Sent from my MT11i using XDA
If you dont want to brick phone with new custom kernel, use ,,hotboot,, function.
That should boot phone with new kernel one time.
If you dont like kernel, just reboot your phone
Sorry for English.

Hello all.
My Xperia X10 Mini Pro is stuck on bootloop as you can see on this video
http://youtu.be/EhaBn0uuSvE
It just got like that from one moment to the other..I was using stock ROM
I tried to flash with Flashtool with these ROMs
U20a_2.1udpt1_Generic
ST17i-Active_4.1.B.0.431-1254-6360_SONY
On the first ROM it gets 100% successfull but still cant boot !
This phone was bought on Portugal, so I dont know if the ROM makes any difference..
Need some advice please !
I've read somewhere that Gordon's Gate (part of Flashtool) can still access a phone even when it bootloops.
Could you document what steps you already took? Perhaps link to the article you followed? (Below is a list of certain steps one usually takes when installing custom ROMS, but they are by no means always necessary, could you perhaps indicate what you already did?)
Rooted Yes/No/Not Sure
ClockWorkMod installed Yes/No/Not Sure
Unlocked bootloader Yes/No/Not Sure
Custom kernel Yes/No/Not Sure
The location of where the phone was bought will not make a lot of difference for the ROM. It might affect things like hardware keyboard layouts, but there are fixes available for those. But things like specific baseband and firmware are still important. By carefully reading the description, you can usually check if your phone can be used.
To be honest, I only have used Flashtool to flash new kernels to my X10 Mini Pro, for just installing another ROM I use ClockWorkMod.
What you can try:
Unbrick through SEUS: here (video)
I've read about people unbricking their devices with PC Companion, here.
If you should be able to regain access to the phone and still want to tinker:
This ROM works nice with the stock kernel
Later, you could unlock the bootloader, flash custom kernels (nAa ICS 04) and install ROMS needing such custom kernels (the U20 ICS ROMS, like MiniCM9)
Should you feel the need to ever unlock the bootloader, use this tool
Cheers and thanks for your post !
I used SEUS and updated to latest firmware but still no success on booting. It stills the same...
Rooted No
ClockWorkMod installed No
Unlocked bootloader No
Custom kernel Not Sure
Any chance that you can point me a stock rom and stock kernel to see if it boots that way?

Don't update, repair... leave your phone unplugged when SEUS searches for updates, it can't recognise your phone when it's not connected and will give you a repair option. choose that, and make sure you select your phone from the list presented. it will then flash original kernel and firmware to your phone.
Don't know which kernel you flashed before you got this bootloop, but the second rom you mentioned in your opening post isn't even for your phone, so i guess you got confused with what goes for your phone. You don't even get a kernel logo, so i guess you flashed a kernel for a different model altogether, or your stock kernel got corrupted. a repair should fix it.
I'm now updating on PC Companion like belgianguy said
If unsuccessfull I'll follow your instructions, thanks a lot in advance !
Same on PC Companion..no boot !
SmG67, I dont see any repair option on SEUS. It detects the phone and says thar it's updated. If I remove the battery while is searching my phone it keeps saying that it's updated. What am I doing wrong ?
On PC Companion I got the Repair option, it repaired, but...surprise...still can't boot !

That's a shame... because you now have all official sony ericsson firmware on your phone, kernel and rom... If it's still not booting the kernel, there's nothing you can do about it, maybe a repair-shop might be able to fix it.
Well, a repair-shop isnt able to fix it because the mini-usb port has bad contact and they consider this phone out of warranty because of that ! It almost never happens that bad contact..

Well if it's that far gone it might very well be a hardware issue. But just to be sure, could you start Flashtool and see if it still recognizes the device (see screenshot of what I see).
If it isn't able to, an older version of s1tool had an IDENTIFY option that required you plug the USB cable into the computer (but not in the phone), to shut down the phone, then push the BACK button and then plug the usb cable into the phone.
The bad contact you mentioned might be causing troubke as well, are you sure it isn't the cable that is at fault? Perhaps try to attach the USB cable in such a way that its not stressed and so that the phone cannot move (to prevent it from disconnecting due to a bad contact). Your flashes very well might have gone faulty because of that. But then again, the SEUS/PC Companion flashes seem to have succeeded, so hopefully Flashtool can shed some light here.
Well, I've got the bootloop problem while I was trying to root my Xperia Mini pro SK17i (I've installed a kernel and in the tutorial they said it's normal if the phone doesn't boot) and now I'm not able to JUST flash the files (at least to recover ). I'd say this because the device connect and disconnet infinite times.
Then, I'm really scared because I trusted and did the steps of this topic correctly I think I'm in a hardbrick situation.
Wether the phone at least stay connected I would be able to unbrick it.
But, I can't unbrick this phone,
COULD SOMEONE HELP ME? I don't know what I should do.

can you connect into fastboot or flashmode?!
Looks like someone got a crappy cable.
Try replacing it, my old cable used to crap on me too.
An improper Kernel or even a bootloop should not prevent you from getting into fastboot mode and reflashing.. Pixelado might be right..It could be a faulty cable or a loose connection.. try another cable or another computer maybe to check..
To better understand, tell us, did you follow that root guide that says:
Downgrade kernel to a 4.0.3 one -> use Doomlord exploit, re-upgrade to stock 4.0.4 kernel?

Try reflashing the rom again and use it for some time without trying to unlock the bootloader. First be sure the rom is flashed perfectly and working fine. If everything works ok, you can go ahead with other experiments (of course at your own risk.) By the way, someone was saying Telcel might have not added the bootloader unlock feature in this rom. Just a possibility.
EDIT: The symptom you have mentioned "phone keeps connecting and disconnecting" known behavior (see post 7th point), while installing fastbook mode drivers. Seem your phone has come in fastboot mode (but still locked) and no fastboot drivers yet installed. Installing it is really very tricky. Follow that post carefully.

Which rom you had before? Was it rooted and cwm on? Can you start phone in CWM mode (VolumeUp+Home+Power keys)? If yes, you can flash your cwm backup and be back on your previous rom.
I hope both of you people took nandroid backup (on external sdcard) before flashing.

But can you bring phone in SW upgrade Mode?
I think part of the problem was following the omap4boot. It flashes files to the phone which are not for our phone. I have done the same thing.
When I use the "Phone Tester" app from Play Store, under system info, it says the device is a "U2". This is wrong.
Screenshot here
I dont have any access to fastboot mode anymore as far as i can tell. I cant install clockworkmod on my phone now. Im trying to understand what changed by following the omap4boot guide.

Have patience and do not panic. This phone is really unbrickable, if not physically damaged.
I am not sure what is the status of your phone right now. But keep the fastboot thing aside and give priority to restore phone and make it properly working.
Remove all LG programs from pc, remove all LG drivers from pc and Restart PC. Now install latest LG PC Suite, and put phone in SW Upgrade mode and connect to pc and let all LG drivers install itself.
Do not let windows install any WDM drivers by clicking on this link while drivers are loaded. Do this always for any phone any device you connect to pc. Correct drivers already installed with PC Suite will load quickly.
Now run PC Suite and select Emergency Firmware Recovery option. Now LG PC suite should download fresh ROM and recover your phone.
================
If this fails, keeping phone in SW Upgrade mode, you can still try same with B2CAppClient as shown in 5A part of this thread. Click on "Start Updating"
================
Above both are online method and will need faster internet so rom is downloaded.
In the fastboot thread it clearly says to say no to the prompt that asks you if you want to flash u-boot. If you replaced your u-boot you need to get an original copy of the u-boot for your phone. I think Lelus has a post somewhere, but I don't know if its for your phone specifically. Search for Lelus x&u.
P.S. I've done same thing before and you should definitely be able to enter fastboot and get it sorted out again.

You can easily root any locked bootloader JB with Lelus method, if you are familiar to flashing with offline fix. Will be safer+quicker to newbies.

From a quick glance at the kdz it looks like v20a for p768 doesn't have the code to unlock bootloader.

So this means that unlocking the bootloader is not possible? And we could NEVER do it? Is there any chance to at least root in a easy way? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND TIME!

CRAP!!, i had a bad feeling you'll say that, well i have to dig around and wait til someone other than a noob like me, gives it a shot and nails it, so it can give me a noob-proof tutorial, THANKS mate, keep up the GREAT WORK YOU DO for XDA!
Hi fellow developers.
So,my story is quite weird and expected indeed.
Being the noob I am at flashing custom roms and recoveries,I flashed orange fox recovery on my device, even flashed a custom rom and managed to use it for about 3/4 hours.
Then I thought that my device was ready, all my changes work, and it is a good idea to relock my bootloader. So,without flashing the stock recovery back,I relocked my bootloader.
After reboot,my device is stuck on "Red state" and keeps on rebooting after every 5 secs. I can't even boot to fastboot mode, nor can I completely shut down my device.
So any ideas what can I do? Do I need to go to the service center? If yes, what would they do and how much would they charge?
Thank you!.

Not that only you should have the stock recovery to relock bootloader, you should need to return completely to stock to can relock it safely.

For future reference, NEVER re-lock the bootloader when your phone isn't 100% stock. The guide SubwayChamp linked above should work.

I didn't bring it to the repair center, in my country no one knows about. IDK which the price could be, maybe 40 buckets.
