Google music - HTC Rezound

If you don't have the Google music tab Clearing Data for the Market did the trick for me

Any way to play music downloaded by google music in a different music player?

Click menu in Google music and find make available offline. Check the box for any of the music you want to have on the phone as files and when finished selecting the music, hot the check Mark on the left bottom corner and it will start downloading songs from you account.
Edit: never mind what I said above. It will download the music but the way it saves the files, you can't open in other programs. Probably have to do it through a computer.

I haven't gotten my Rezound yet (still waffling between in and the Nexus)
However, on my DX, Gmusic stores the downloaded/cached files in
/sdcard/data/com.google.android.music/cache/music.
there is a .nomedia file in that directory which keeps the 'media server' from searching that directory for music. If you remove that file, then other apps should see the files.
However, they have no metadata and are simply named with a sequential number.
end result: you could play the music with another app, but wouldn't know what it is or have album art

[Q] Google music not recognizing media files

I have Google Music beta app installed, but it doesn't seem to find all the local mp3 files (i.e. only shows 7 of the 23 files), even though they are all in the same folder...
all the other music apps (stock player, MixZing, etc.) list all the songs just fine.
I have run "Rescan Media" app but no change
Interesting that before i applied the Enhancement 3.1.4b patch, i am almost sure it could see all the files...
Any ideas ?
ive had problems with google music but unistallign and reinstalling app worked. im some cases i had to use titanium back up to get it to unistall all files.
Had to rebuild and decided to not rstore the google music again. Not using cloud anyway, just local files

[Q] Download via Google Music... Listen via Music App?

I've downloaded a few albums from Google Music. Would like to play them with the built-in Music app, but Music doesn't see any of my downloaded music.
Root explorer showed me the music downloaded from Google Music was in :
\sdcard\Android\data\com.google.android.music\cache\music
I tried copying the music folder over to the external card sdcard2 (where I'd really LIKE to store my music), but the Music app still doesn't find it.
Most surprisingly, I can't find a setting for either Google Music or Music to specify a download or Music folder.
Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?
If you purchased the music from google music the music isn't actually on your device, it is in the cloud on google music servers. Only way to get stock htc music player to see that music is to download the music from google music and put it directly on your device.
Hope that helps.

Yes.... that's what I'm trying to do. I downloaded Google Music from the cloud by "making music available offline", but the stock htc music player won't see it
Not true, R2does the developer from the dinc forum has a paid app that allows you to do it. Never tried it myself, but heard good things about it. There is also a Google music importer on the market that does the same thing. You have to download it as offline library, but other music apps will be able to play it.

[Q] Edit Music Player play list?

I've been having trouble editing the play lists, is there a soft ware like itunes on computer which you can create and edit play list easily?
One thing that bothers me about the music player on this phone is that it shows every track in the SD, including the tracks in the game Real Racing 2, which I installed in the SD. Is there anyway to let the player play the songs only in the Music folder?
I also find that there were few duplicate songs in song list, even i just put in one of it.
Open file explorer and add a . (dot) at the beginning.
This works for all media like pictures etc.
Example:
Music
What you do is >
.Music

thanks, did mean add a dot before mp3 files or before folder name?
Folder name
Sorry, forgot to say that
Send from the best device ever.
Go to the folder with songs you don't need and create a file named .nomedia (with a dot, it's important). Then this folder and everything inside it will not show up in the music player/ gallery.

Spotify, where are the downloaded songs

Hey,
Using now Spotify on Android...
Where does Spotify stores the downloaded songs? I searched all ready in his Spotify cache, but didn't found anything...
Any ideas?

In the 'downloads' folder, which can only be accesed by computer. Basically, if you download music, put it in playlists so you can listen to them on your phone.
Or if you mean where it stores your songs on your device, simply in the 'user' directory of spotify.
Click your name, and there should be .mp3 files. Though they haven't got their original name, so it's basically useless.

[Q] Google Music "Offline"

Alright I ever since google has update the "Music" app they make it so if you do a keep offline you can't use any other app to play the songs. They have also try to hind the music when you save it for offline. Now is there anyway to fix this? I have found the music and were is sits but its like they lock the music files some how...
I am rooted as well.
I 1st did a search for .mp3 using Root Explorer and found that they are in data/data/com.google.android.music/files/music
When i am there i see the files but i am unable to play them in anything
Also the permissions for them are Owner: R/W thats it.
I have even tried to zip them up and put them on my PC to play and still not working what could it be? I just want to use Power AMP. lol :silly:
