[Q] Edit Music Player play list? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

I've been having trouble editing the play lists, is there a soft ware like itunes on computer which you can create and edit play list easily?
One thing that bothers me about the music player on this phone is that it shows every track in the SD, including the tracks in the game Real Racing 2, which I installed in the SD. Is there anyway to let the player play the songs only in the Music folder?
I also find that there were few duplicate songs in song list, even i just put in one of it.

Open file explorer and add a . (dot) at the beginning.
This works for all media like pictures etc.
Example:
Music
What you do is >
.Music

thanks, did mean add a dot before mp3 files or before folder name?

Folder name
Sorry, forgot to say that

Go to the folder with songs you don't need and create a file named .nomedia (with a dot, it's important). Then this folder and everything inside it will not show up in the music player/ gallery.

Google music

If you don't have the Google music tab Clearing Data for the Market did the trick for me

Any way to play music downloaded by google music in a different music player?

Click menu in Google music and find make available offline. Check the box for any of the music you want to have on the phone as files and when finished selecting the music, hot the check Mark on the left bottom corner and it will start downloading songs from you account.
Edit: never mind what I said above. It will download the music but the way it saves the files, you can't open in other programs. Probably have to do it through a computer.

I haven't gotten my Rezound yet (still waffling between in and the Nexus)
However, on my DX, Gmusic stores the downloaded/cached files in
/sdcard/data/com.google.android.music/cache/music.
there is a .nomedia file in that directory which keeps the 'media server' from searching that directory for music. If you remove that file, then other apps should see the files.
However, they have no metadata and are simply named with a sequential number.
end result: you could play the music with another app, but wouldn't know what it is or have album art

Select all folders Miuimusic folder restrictions

Hello I've being using miui for a while now and I really like the music player but there is only one dealbreaker.
I'm using banshee and rhythmbox (on ubuntu) to transfer the music to the phone. these programs generate a folder tree as follows
Sdcard/music/artist/album.... Te etc.
The thing is that I can't find a way to make my miui player to load all the folders and songs inside the sdcard/music folder when I'm limiting the music search to this particular folder in only loads the songs that are on this folder but not the subfolders and their content.
Please help

HTC Music Player

Hi all, is there a way to have the HTC player read only the mp3 files in my "my music" folder instead if playing all my music and wav files that I have on my phone? I added a bunch of music from my library to my "my music" folder and it seems like a pain in the rear to add a playlist to only those files since I have to add them all manually. 300+ songs...ya right! If the player can read only files in a certain folder that would be great.

use itunes to make the playlist. right click on it and export as an m3u file, drag it to your music folder and use the all playlist
you can put them in a .music folder that would be hidden i believe from the player
Create a folder named. Nomedia add it where the files you don't want to show up like ringtones etc

Not all my music showing up

My having troblem with my music not showing up, it only shows 4 songs out of 75. I tried using poweramp, playerpro, and the default music app but it still doesn't work. Any ideas?
Using ur computer just create a music folder and dump all the songs in it and try it.. Because sometimes a called .nomedia ll be present if it s then music apps wont scan those folders!!
What kind of files do not show up? Are the flacs? I find that the only player that shows/plays all file types, including flac, is andless. You can find it in google play store.

Their songs(mp3) files
Hey guys, just thought I'd help even if this is a rather old thread:
I've had the same issue as x12CHRIS18x, this happened on both a rooted stock rom Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos, and a Galaxy S III stock unrooted. Both phones had the music files (mp3 and m4a) in the "Music" folder on the external SDcard.
Apparently, a reboot solved the issue on both devices, but I wouldn't want to do that everytime I copied music to my phone.
So I just went ahead and opened a File Manager app called ES File Explorer, Hit the menu button, tapped on Library, then Music, tap on Refresh icon on the bottom bar of the app, then hit "Notify System Refresh" it will take a few sec./minutes depending on the size of your Music Library.
I figured what this does is it forces an "indexing" on all media files found on your device, depending on what type of Library you selected, in this case, music.
Hope this helped someone who also had this issue.

Total Recall recording clips are shown in Music Player, how to hide them?

Hi..
I am using Total Recall recording app's latest version right now.. All recorded clips are shown in stock music player as well as in any other music app I install.. Although there is a file named .nomedia in the folder existed all clips are shown still in stock music player..
I ever set the folder to hidden, yet clips are shown.. Is there any way they won't show up in stock music player or anywhere and considered to be hidden..
Thanks.
Create a file named '.nomedia' in that folder. It shouldn't show up after that.
