Where are the links to Xron rom based on CM? - TouchPad General

There were a couple of links based on this rom which were really good and based on CM. Any ideas if the rom and posts were pulled.

He's waiting for cm to get into beta. The real reason is some d bag bad mouthed the $hit out of his rom and he got ticked off. His rom is awesome and it was in alpha stages so the d bag had no excuse to complain. Alpha = bugs. So ya one Guy ruined it for all of us.

I figured something like that had happened based on one post I saw where someone got mad about getting credit for their work but he replied back with an explanation. I know he gave cyanogenmod credit. It is a shame because he is very talented and his rom was excellent, almost a beta. I am actually still using it and my WIFI rarely has issues. I hope to see his work back in here. Is he in another forum where I can download other versions.

I'm re-uploading the Rom now for you guys. No support for it, but its stable.
Just to be clear about things, this is alpha... Filled with bugs, that guy who wanted credit was right except one thing, v1.3.7 and v2 don't have any of his stuff in it. He saw a screen shot with his menu keys in it and was pretty out of line because he didn't even check the Rom out. If he had, he would have realized if wasn't in there.
I suggest using go launcher and all their apps. They work quite nice with this rom.
the v2 that is uploading has the sod bug fix included but IT BREAKS SOUND, I will upload v1.3.7 that has the sound working fine. Honestly, v2 is better anyway. Smooth. I'm jot on it enough to give two craps about sound.
when it gets uploaded, please post all links back to here for downloads.

what rom should i use???

What's up guys. I need some help picking the best ROM for me. I know there's tons of them on here, by I'm a novice to Android, and honestly don't even really get te difference between firmware and a ROM. I want some very specific feature which is also why I made this thread seeking your help.
I'm an old iPhone user.. did all the jailbreaking and all myself and even though I think the TB is better than my old iPhone I would love to incorporate some of the "fluidity" it had. Specifically I'm looking a ROM that wouldn't interrupt my music when I get a text to play to notification sound, instead play it on top of the song playing at the moment. I would also like to initiate access the play/pause skip buttons without having to unlock my TB, like double pressing the home button on an iPhone and the play buttons pop up even if you weren't playing any music.
The last and most important to me would be this one: on the iPhone there is a security option that if you have a password set and let's say the phone is stolen and someone tries unlocking the phone more than an allowed number of times(set by the user) it erases EVERYTHING on the phone. These are all I can think off right now. Like I said, I'm a novice to Android and I will appreciate any help and advice I can get. I already had my TB rooted but I just updated the verizon firmware on my TB not knowing that it would un-root it.. so I'm trying to find a ROM ASAP.
Thanks
Edit: I would also like to make my TB run on gingerbread and improve the battery life.
I suggest BAMF roms. I'd give you the website link but I may get banned for it.

It's really about trying them out for yourself. Alot of what you want is available through apps. Not even sure you need to root.
As far as bamf ROMs, they decided to leave xda but if you google them, you should find them.
XDA does not like you linking other sites that do the same thing.
I suggest them because they ate always updating their roms, they have a good group of people happy to assist you, and the roms are just really well done. Chingy does great work too. But apparently posting to another forum gets you banned these days. Google "Team BAMF". :-]

it is against the rules on xda, and its their site.
OP, I've been using gingertheory, which is a gb rom with a hybrid sense of 3.0 and 2.1. Very smooth and fast. The same dev also makes a senseless version of GB that is very light and you can add custom lockscreen to that can have audio controls.
EFoxwell said:
Since when did they start enforcing all the rules. I forgot... They cherry pick them. Back on topic, cm7 rc1.2 is good. If you aren't into sense, it is definitely my #1 suggestion.

every tech forum I have used over the years will ban someone for advertising their new site. Guess trying to protect the site.
You seem to really have a problem with this. Why not just move on instead of complaining in every thread.
Eh, dont waste your time with bamf. Synergy is where its at IMO. If youre still kinda new, Droid Theory does awesome support. Hes one of the nicest people Ive seen on the boards, but he doesnt consider himself a Dev. lol. Ive heard CM7 is real nice too though if you arent so much of a sense fan.

The one that fits your needs the best, which may or may not reflect the opinions of those in the thread. In short, you need to research and/or try many different ones. The lazy way of asking others won't give you the best results.
Synergy is my favorite. I've tried CM7, BAMF 3.0, Gingertheory, Injectedtheory, and Tesla Coil.
CM7 was my second fav, but Synergy was just farther ahead in development. They are doing nightlys now and things are very smooth. Running on the newest leaked GB base and radio, and it runs on ziggys kernel, which seems to be second to none.

Now that Netflix has officially come out for the Thunderbolt, I am sticking with the official MR2 ROM that is the same as stock but rooted and deodexed. All of the apps I want to run work fine plus I have root for things like Titanium, LBE Privacy Guard, SetCPU and VNC so I see no reason to change. I was considering it for Netflix but since that works fine there is no need to. Perhaps when the other roms have stable releases rather than just nightlies/betas/RCs I will switch to a custom rom.

Issue with video recording on XRon
i've been running Xron RC1 for about a week and was stunned to find that everything was working perfectly! Sure enough last night i attempted to record a video of my kids with the standard htc video recording app and I get FC's every time I try and start recording.
I can however use qik and it seems to record and store it well.
thoughts? / suggestions.
Evo 3d
Rooted, rom'd, themed.
I think all the ROMs are about the same speed wise. The question is do you want it to look stock or do you want something thats been themed? Some are heavily themed you wouldn't even know it was the 3D. Others are just a few modifications to better the look. Also the other question is what apps do you want some ROMs are completely striped of everything others are untouched and yet others have just the apps the DEV feels are necessary.
So those are the things you really need to look at and some can only be addressed by actually flashing the ROM and using it. Example flash a ROM and everything is great then you realize that the "Recent Apps" is gone from the Notification Pulldown that maybe a deal breaker for you.
Flash them all take notes see what YOU like and what gets the job done. At the end of the day only you can make the final call.
Ignore the trolls.. last I checked this is the Q&A section guess questions aren't allowed either. Its one of "those guys" they made a mod and some people have left because of it.
Of course I like my ROM the best

Unnamed is running smoothly on my phone. How does it compare with this? I've downloaded so many Roms but lots of them give me issues. I just need a smooth, debloated stock with amazing battery life like Unnamed that I can bloat up, in so many ways

An AOSP ROM?

Well, all the Sense 4 ROMs drain my battery like its nobody's business, and personally I really don't seem to like Sense anymore. I know that newtoroot came out with an AOSP rom awhile back in like February, but has anyone been working on one since? And I know people "claim" to have AOSP roms but all of them are still using sense's SystemUI, so im looking for a FULL AOSP rom. thanks to anyone who can help.

Since this is a pretty touchy subject... I'll handle it.
We do not have full functioning AOSP roms. The rezound has very difficult tech to reverse engineer. The AOSP roms that do exist all have no data, text, or call capability. Not even wifi. A few have tried to work on getting AOSP over but either stopped in the hopes that the ICS OTA stuff will help or they just dumped the rezound completely. I just hope you don't get flamed.
What hurts the rezound, was that everyone was expecting to get it and then immediately switch to ICS so the gingerbread development lacked a lot. And leaks don't really help us at all as far as ICS goes. Here we are 8 months after the debut of ICS and we are still left out in the cold.
There are a few people still trying to make AOSP happen, but for now, senseless is as close as you'll get.

Let's not flame this guy. Let's turn this into a productive thread about AOSP even though we have scattered comments about AOSP/AOKP/CM in random threads.
Chad is working on RIL issues in his upcoming kernel. Chad is an extremely busy student so don't expect anything soon although he has gotten calls/sms/1x data working.
We really don't have an updated version of CM9 or AOKP but since we don't have data for them yet, there is no reason to make a ROM bot for them automatically compiling roms nightly.
OK now let's get productive. We have GB source. I don't understand why we don't have a CM7 rom yet. Well, I didn't understand why until I tried do compile/port one myself. I am not an expert at compiling from source especially when our device isn't officially supported but my port won't boot past the splash screen. I am thinking about putting the port up in the dev section and turning it into a community project. I have tried the Demonizing AOSP kernel and I have compiled multiple CM7 kernels from source but still no booting.
I know CM7 is GB based but it's better than nothing at least until we get ICS source.

Fix RIL would still be necessary for CM7 as it is for CM9. So given our most recent leaks/RUUs, makes since to focus on one vs. The other... Gingerbread is ooooooold

Fix RIL would still be necessary for CM7 as it is for CM9. So given our most recent leaks/RUUs, makes since to focus on one vs. The other... Gingerbread is ooooooold

Yes but it would be much much easier to fix because we has source. Chad even said that 99% of the issues is just rearranging libraries in the kernel.

That's interesting. I always just assumed everyone was so focused on ICS/CM9 that they just never bothered with CM7. I would probably use CM7 over our current crop of ICS choices to be honest.

I would use CM7 over ICS sense as well. I believe a lot of users on here would feel the same.

Alright thanks for letting me know who he was. So now, basically, Chads upcoming kernel will make all current AOSP roms a daily driver (with ril working)? Please tell me if this is incorrect. If its not then I'm actually kind of excited!

There is no guarantee of him getting 3g/4g data working, but if he does then ICS AOSP roms will become a reality.

Alright awesome, thanks for the replies everyone, I can't wait for chad's kernel. And I believe that atm I would use CM7 over the assortment of ics roms we have as well.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Bottom line is that there has been no updates released to the "public" in a couple of months, just word of mouth that they have it working, except for a few bugs.

I think making it a community rom is a pretty good idea.

I know but it actually used an AOSP SystemUI which is all that I really want. I can post pics if necessary (though it'll be hard on my phone lol)

If that's all you really need then use Slim or CleanRom DE. Slim especially has pretty much all of Sense stripped away either is worlds better for battery life.
Chad is doing what protekk couldnt do.

Newt is currently working on aokp. Says he has calls and texts working so far and next step is data.

Faux kernel

I just wanted to start a thread here so not to clog beans ROM thread.. We have another kernel for our Verizon TW Roms... I'm sure we will get an official thread from the developer eventually.. So far I ran version 2..and this morning I flashed V3..running smoothly so far and latest has Boeffla support..

Faux posted on twitter that his thread here was getting flamed too much so he took it down. Way to go XDA community. Great kernel though, have been using it for a couple days now and couldn't be happier.

Wow really... I didn't see the original thread.. I don't have Twitter.. It's definitely running smoothly.. I've run his kernels on my Nexus.. We like options.. I hope peeps respect and if not for you move along... That's what is great about having choices.. Did you change any of the settings?

Faux does really good work, and this is definitely worth a look. Thanks for the heads up, but did you ask for the Dev's permission to post this?
003 is out in case you guys didn't see it. It fixes the OC bumping above the max level. It's running great for me so far. Ondemand + intelliplug works like a charm.

Nice!!
Just flashed the 03 note 2 kernel...and my phone is running a lot smoother. downloaded the app to support this kernel...keep up the great work...tracking down info on this kernel has been well worth it!!
Gonna have to try this when I get home, loved his work on the G2X, the only kernel my phone played nice with.

Big supporter of Faux. Bought the app waaayyy back when it was released, even before the Note 2 was supported and been using the kernel on all my phones every since my first Android (and his too I believe), the MyTouch4g. One of my favorite phones ever btw.
Anyway, stories aside, I finally got this thing to mount an sd card on boot. Had to go back to my 32gb san disk. Guess I'll drop out my 64gb since I swear by Faux's kernels. Every thing is smooth as butter so far. Running ondemand and gonna let this baby settle and see how long the battery can last. I think I saw on Twitter someone said they got 7 hrs screen on time.
Btw, faux... does this support you faux sound yet? If not, will be putting in support for it eventually?
It supports boeffla sound which is pretty good. Bought the all too myself. Best way to donate.
