hello!
i just bought my p7300 tablet, brand new and it came with 3.1.
i checked for update and no updated, i conected to kies and checked for update still no update!
now the questions!
1. is it stuck with 3.1?
2. it seems to me that wifi is very poor, download speed is very poor in comparison with my s2. am i right or i have a defective device?
3. after power on and click on task manager to clean ram memory i am left with 400mb, and with my s2 i have almost 650!? why is that happening? dont they both have 1gb?
4. whats the battery life at this tablet, in real life not specs over the internet?

The 32/64GB P7500's just shipped a couple of weeks ago and they're on 3.1 too. I'm sure there will eventually be a 3.2 update. Samsung screwed up the roll-out in the U.S. so I'm sure that'll slow things down for a bit.

My Tab is a bit slower than my SGS2 also. You're looking at different processors and radios so there's no reason to expect them to be the same.

I have 571MB of 724MB on my P7500. They're two totally different devices running different OSs. You can really compare the two. Some RAM is reserved by the OS so 1GB will never be fully available to apps.

With heavy use, I get about 7 hours which isn't too far off spec.
when will we get 3.2? 3.1 is very laggy

I read that the Samsung galaxy s2 has 1gb of ram but when I look at the task manager it says I only.have 838mb. Is that supposed to be right?
Ya thats right. You only have 838mb available after the system memory takes what it needs to run the phone. All phones say they have less available then what they really have due to the system taking up some.
Thanks! That's still plenty of ram compared to most phones right?

There's only a handful of android devices with 1gb ram out now - it's starting to become the norm now. But, don't worry, 1gb ram is plenty for gingerbread and ice cream sandwich.

Correct.
My phone has the same installed memory as the computer that I'm posting from right now.

its running perfect on my s3, there is always a kind of lag when you cross to the other island, but that's normal.

That is not lag. It's just how the game is. It stops for like 2-3 seconds when changing cities. Used to happen on my high end pc ten years back too
this is normal because on the original pc version of the game there was always kinda introduction with a screen of vice city in pink or yellow or so.
they took it out on android, but it seems like they couldnt manage to remove this completely so theres always this "lag" if you cross the big bridges.
and if it laggs all the time on your galaxy s3, backup your stuff, wipe your phone and flash a new rom to it like MB5 and it will do it. never lagged on my galaxy s3 since the time I had the game, on the note 10.1 werent also no laggs at all.

Hello XDA,
I really don't know what to choose. Just the other day I bought the I9300 Sapphire Black but then I realised I could get the I9305 for only 65 USD more. To get the I9305 I'd have to mail back the I9300 and then get the I9305 sent to me.
I am planning on rooting my phone and find a nice ROM that suits me. Having looked shortly over the ROM lists for both devices it seems I can find one that fits me on both devices. Is this extra price worth it? I do not really care that much for 4G (I don't even have a plan that supports it yet), but I kind of dig the 2 GB ram.
Now my question is, is it worth getting the I9305 for 65 USD more?
I9300
- I currently have this one at home (Seal unbroken)
- only 1 GB ram
- Huge dev. support
I9305
- 2 GB ram
- 4G/LTE
- Less dev. support
- More battery drain (?)
- 65 USD more
I just don't know what to choose... I don't think I'll need the 1 GB ram as of right now, but I'm just thinking what about the future? I remember from my old Desire Z that I couldn't really get ICS because of only 512 MB ram. Could I possibly run into this problem in the next 2 years with 1 GB ram? (I already see new phones coming out with 2 GB ram).
I have been searching all night trying to get an answer for this question... I don't know what I should do :crying:
return the i9300 and get a i9500

I can't justify a purchase like that. It's almost double the price of a i9300.

well you have 4g network on i9305 that worth the extra price!

But as I've already said 4G doesn't really mean that much to me... I'm more concerned about the extra GB of ram and battery life..

i own i9300 and i didn't ever face a problem with the ram! even multi-tasking with over 10 apps didn't effect the ram! battery is always great!

Yeahh... I'm just a bit worried about future proofing just a bit.. Maybe 1 GB ram will soon (next year?) be too little?

*sigh* Once again, because the S4 is almost double the price of the S3. As I wrote in OP I ran into ram limitations on my old phone (512 mb ram). While the phone itself could run ICS (I am now talking about my old phone), it was short on ram... I am just worried that I might run into these kind of problems soon again with 1 GB... I don't know if that's stupid to think.

definitely! even 2gb ram will be a little one in the near future!
I wonder if someone compared the performance.
Don't have two phones in order to compare them but it's obvious that 6gb ram phone is better in multitasking...

Multitasking is not an issue since 2013. Performance is still a benchmark like app opening speed and gaming.

Understood.
Anyway, i think that there is not a really difference in today's usage. The only difference is that it would keep apps in memory longer, assuming that it is coded correctly.
Would you say that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is "fast" in day-to-day use? A higher rating indicates that you think the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 exhibits fantastic performance. Like, is it as fast as your tears when you watch The Titanic?
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
The 8GB model is blazing fast! Note8 stays far behind.
Amazing
Insane. Way better than my Note8 and that phone was quick!

Blazing fast!! No lag in sight. And I'm not even in performance mode, which I always was in with the Note8.
I would say it's significantly faster than any other Android device I've owned. Apps load much faster, network performance is about 4x faster on average than my prior phone, even system updates are faster.

How is the 6gb vs the 8gb in speed of opening apps, etc? I don't play games

I have the 8GB model and my partner has the 6GB and we did some testing the other day and there was no real difference. Had 30 apps open as well as Spotify streaming whilst downloading a torrent via uTorrent and neither model showed any signs of lag/delay. I'm starting to think that the 8GB version is a bit over kill, maybe in the future we could utilise it when playing game's or what not.
TLDR, if you looking at buying the Note9 and don't the need the extra storage space just get the 6GB version, can always get an SD card.
6gb is same as 8 gb.... Just get 6gb it is cheaper.
This is great info. Im coming from the S9 and at time this thing is slow.
Was stunned to get 100Mbps deep in a building
Definitely faster than any other android device I've had. Coming from s7 edge. All specs and day to day use so far blows everything else out the water. Just got mines Saturday. 128gb with 6gb of ram

The Galaxy Speed is really huge
I'm a Note 4 & S7 user previously... and I bought Note 9 Exynos 128gb and BAM! I was shocked how fast & quick & smoothie it is... I began to miss the old days when I switch between Apps or multitasking it would lag AF!
