Fastboot flash system boot.img
and i changed the name of the xperiasspeed.img to boot.img
Everything said it installed successfully, but now when I press the power button, it vibrates but does not boot.
I can get back into fastboot mode but thats it.
any help or ideas?
thanks
Flashtool.
could you possibly elaborate?
I am downloading the flashtool but what is the purpose and how do you use it?
I'm not an expert but it not sound like bricked device, but rather kernel installation that went wrong.
Just try flashing one more time, or flash your backup. You did a backup aren't you?

Read the docs, there's a nice guide. You can also try the repair feature in PC Companion, but it might require the system to boot, so not sure.

What docs are you refferring to?
I have downloaded stock LT22_6.0.B.1.654.zip and am wanting to use the flash tool to flash this .img
OK step by step
Your phone could be easily recovered, we can try to do it
1.- have you tried a cold reboot ?? (with the xperia S hold both VOLUME UP key and POWER key during 10 to 15 seconds until device vibrates three times, not sure if it's the same with the P, then press power and check if it boots)
Still stuck??
2.- Download flashtool 0.8.0 and install it from here: http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
-then download the 0.8.6 update and install it too
-then download a STOCK xperia P FTF and put it in the flashtool/firmwares folder (it should be in the root of your har drive, eg.: c:\flashtool\firmwares)
-then, enter flash mode (with the phone off hold VOL DOWN while connecting the USB cable to PC -> the LED will light green) and let your PC install the drivers
-then remove the USB cable, run Flashtool, press the flash button (the thunder icon), select "Flashmode" and click OK, select yourstock firmware for Xperia P and press OK
-When asked, enter flashmode again (flashtool shows an old xperia device, use the proper key combination for your device as stated before) and flash a fresh copy of the stock firmware.
-After flashing is complete, disconnect phone and press power to check if it's all OK.

BEWARE !!
1.- You are very confused my friend, "xperiasspeed" is from krabappel2548, not form doomlord.
2.- The proper commands should be:
To flash a boot image:
Code:
fastboot flash [B]boot[/B] boot.img
To flash a system image:
Code:
fastboot flash [B]system[/B] system.img
I am not sure what did you download from krabappel2548, but it seems you flashed a "boot" image to your phone's "system" image
You are mixing stuff up
Please read this guide before attempting anything again
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another advice:
Fastboot and Flashtool are different ways to flash.
To flash with flashtool you enter flash mode -> press the VOLUME DOWN key -> LED turns GREEN
To flash with fastboot you enter fastboot mode -> press VOLUME UP key -> LED turns BLUE

When I hold down the Volume Down button and connect my Xperia P to flashtool, the notification LED goes green but the window with the old Xperia device doesn't go away and after a while the green LED turns red and the screen shows the charging animation.
I can enter CWM while the device powers up but I can't mount USB storage. My bootloader is locked and I tried to install the .54 small app tweak on my .544 (I didn't think it'd be an issue, but I was wrong! I'm a n00b. Nu H8 Pl0x )
I've also tried using the Sony Update Service but it can't detect my firmware because it can't detect my phone in Flash mode
Someone please help me. I've searched everywhere but couldn't find a solution.

[Q] How can I fastboot my XU on Mac OS X? Standard procedure not working

I'm trying to get my Xperia U into fastboot mode. I'm using a Mac. I've tried it using both standalone fastboot and FlashTool's fastboot mode, on two different Macs, but it never works. I turned off my phone, pressed down the volume up button, then connected the USB cable to my phone and the computer. Every time, instead of having the LED bar turn blue, it doesn't light up, the SONY logo appears, and I see the charging icon (i.e. not a complete boot). However, it's able to boot into flash mode using the same procedure except for volume down. How can I get it in fastboot mode?
Edit: The service menu says unlocking the bootloader is disallowed for my phone. I don't want to unlock it, but I'm guessing that's why it won't enter fastboot mode. How else can I downgrade my kernel? Can I place the kernel.sin in a FTF package and flash it using flashmode, or does flashmode only work for entire ROMs?
I was able to solve this using the two kernel FTF packages from the first quote in the 6.1.1.B.1.54 thread. I downgraded my kernel, rooted, then reupgraded it, all using FlashTool. Now my phone is rooted and Sony Bridge recognizes it as fully upgraded.

Have you installed drivers correctly? What operative system do you have in your computer?
If you have not, go to C:/flashtool/drivers and intall them (you have to check your device and 2 last options in the installer (fastboot and flashmode)

Whatever Anyway thanks for help. I'm going to leave my phone turned on all night so it will totaly discharge and then i will try to charge it and put into flashmode. Maybe this will work. I'll post the results if i'll fix my xp.
Phone is working!
When i tried discharging phone, that didn't help so i gave my phone to my friends dad because he is a good phone technican, and fixer. So what he did? That was akward moment
1. When he conected phone to his pc (win xp) the computer detected my phone (my computer wasn't able to detect)
2. Then he just flashed some files. But not with Flashtool. He used program called SE2tools or something like that.
3. The phone booted up and now is working sucessfully

If you're boot loader is lockes you can use SUS then create the FTF file to flash with flashtool next time you need it.
If it's unlocked, use PCC to repair until the stage it ask you to connect the phonem then build the firmware FTF to flash with flashtool.

Dude your a bit confused.
The only thing you may need flashtoo is first step (Flash boot.img from .zip via Fastboot ) all the rest is done in CWM recovery.
I don't know who told you to drain your baterry, but do not ever flash anything with baterry less than 50 percent, prefferrably fully charged.
Flash stock first, copy the zip to your SD card, then follow steps 1-9+.
For step 1 you need to extract boot.img from the rom zip on your pc.
To enter CWM recovery (after you flashed the boot.img), while device is booting (Sony LOGO) press volume down every second or so untill you are in CWM.
To nevigate in CWM, select - home key or power, move down - volume down or menu key, move up - volume up, exit/return to previous menu - back key or select at the bottom of the menu.

No No bro listen, I did a mistake while installing the Custom ROM.
I forgot to flash the boot.img and did full wipe even formatted the system. Rebooted the system without installing the ROM. Now, stuck at Sony Logo. (NOTE: During this I had the battery charged full)
To rectify the above issue, I tried to flash the boot.img through fastboot mode in Flashtool and install the Custom ROM through CWM. To connect to flashtool, the device should be switched off. Now, I cant switch off. I can only restart. Hence, I drained the battery completely and tried to connect to Flashtool. When I hold Volume Up key and connect to PC through USB, only red LED lights up. It is not connecting to Fastboot mode, also when holding Volume Down key and connect to PC through USB, only red LED lights up. It is not connecting to Flashmode.

No you do not need to drain the baterry, nor do you need to shut down the phone.
In the link you have provided it shows you how to boot into fastboot via adb (Click 4).
Recharge your phone and follow the steps given there.

Turn the phone off, no need to drain battery, just press power + volume up until you feel 1 + 3 vibrations, open flashtool and connect in fastboot mode (volume up while connecting USB)
Do you see device connected in fasboot mode in flashtool log?
Did you install fastboot drivers from flashtool?
What is you windows version?
Got it Worked!

Nothing worked, anyway thanks bro.
I gave the phone to the technician and he made it to work. Now, I have sony xperia sola running 6.1.1.b.1.10 firmware. I am unable to update it to 6.1.1.b.1.54, error displaying as unable to communicate with sony. No Root, No CWM, just an unlocked bootloader.
Now, please tell how to root from here (6.1.1.b.1.10 firmware) and install CWM and flash some new custom ROMs.
Thanks,
Irfan

[HELP] Can't enter flashmode/recovery mode/fastboot mode [e2306] [MM] {UB}

Well, i've flashed the ftf file downloaded directly from xperifirm {E2306_26.3.A.0.131_R2C_Customized GEL_1294-3902}
-update-
some mysterious, magical stuff hapened and i entered fastbootmode
can boot recovery and boot.img from fastboot and now everything is fine
<3
thanks everyone
then, i've try to install root (following a tutorial for this device and this comp.) but i could not enter to FASTBOOT MODE
try using:
- (vol+) + (plug the phone)
-(power btn) + (vol+) + (plug the phone)
-(power btn) + (vol+) + (vol-) + (plug the device)
and the only thing that happened is: -Vibrate + sony logo ---> normal boot
----
Then i try to enter fastboot using the adb command {ADB REBOOT-BOOTLOADER}
but it just reboot normally (sony logo and then start normally)
[[ADB do recognize my device and all drivers were properly installed; but can't enter to fastboot mode]]
---
I've try to reflash my device again, but then i couldn't be able to enter to flashmode
{ with the device off; press vol- and then connect to usb}
after several attempts using - [(power btn) + (vol-)] i entered flashmode and reflash my device...
----
then i activate dev mode: [usb debuggin and OEM UNLOCK]
and try to get to fastboot mode, but the same results...
i got my device recognized by {ADB DEVICES}
but can't get fastboot
-----
Then the user who's helping me told me to reflash using this config
[in excludes section check all except AMSS_FSG, AMS_FS1, AMS_FS2,BOOT DELIVERY, KERNEL. Don't check anything else.]
But i can't get flashmode now... i try all the combinations, try in ubuntu 16, and windows 10... but nothing
the device starts normally nothing wrong.... except well, i can't enter any -mode- now...
any help?
Thanks
try enable usb debugging. go to setting, about phone, then scroll to build number. tap it repeadly till developer option appear on setting. set enable usb debugging there. and try flash it again.

Girlfriend tried to update her Sony Aqua M4 e2306...
she says that the boot loader was unlocked, and she installed the twrp update... and the root check came back rooted.... she powered off the phone and put it on a charger. ...
a few hours later she tried to restart it and only got the Sony Xperia screen then reboot loop.
I've spent 2 days reading everything that i can find and trying various solutions but most won't work because it won't stay connected long enough to use companion, adb, fastboot, bootloader, etc. When the devices is seen by pc it is only for a moment and comes up as a generic MTP device or a hard drive i can't open.
I can get the occasional green or blue lights and sometimes a generic battery symbol by powering off and pressing + or - with power, but never get a recovery or boot load screen... only alternating "sony Xperia" and darkness
also, Emily won't update.
I've tried multiple solutions using different versions of SDK, ADB, sony and xperia Companion, fastboot, bootloader, odin, pwm, and more on multiple machines from XP to Win10, but nothing seems to even make a dent!
I've removed the back and disconnected the battery for 2 hours and am currently trying to research a more physical hack/repair using riff jtag.
i see many people with "boot loop" issue , but no one seems to follow through and say how to get out if you don't have the option of booting to anything....

I'm having the same issue.
Anoyone knows how to fix? Maybe is a problem of the cable?
PD: Tested with official cabled and turning Off OEM unlock and still the same.

Not sure what your problem is exactly but it is most likely a problem with the cable or the s1 driver's(if your using window's?) one or the other ,
However i need to point out that you must have your OEM lock at the SWITCHED ON position(allow the device to be oem unlocked) or you will trip the frp at the next reboot and will have to reflash your firmware unnecessarily , so to sum up Oem unlock at the switched on position

the drivers are all installed correctly, I tried doing this with the OEM off and on and it did not work
none of the methods works, adb does normal boot
recovery reboot (and other apps) crash or boot normal too
volume (+) and power button only makes the phone vibrate (and sometimes the Sony logo appears)
I can't stress to you enough that Enable Oem need's to be on the "on position" so switch it on (allow the device to be oem unlocked)and leave it alone it's nothing to do with you not being able to get to fastboot. If you trip the frp on your phone you will not be pleased.
with that said with your phone switched on and USB DEBUGGING SWITCHED ON plug into your usb on computer open a command window and input the following command- adb reboot bootloader you will now see your blue light on the phone this means your sony is now ready for you to flash a custom recovery (assuming you have unlocked your bootloader ?)
