I've recently swapped phones and have only noticed a few days later the g-sensor on my HTC incredible 2 isn't working auto rotate is of course on but the bubbles when I try calibrate the sensor aren't moving at all
The person who I swapped with must have been aware of this so I've been burned with a slightly Damaged phone
I've tried shaking the phone which I read worked for someone else on here...no joy
Im using a custom Rom and have tried flashing different roms and kernals to no avail
I'm wondering if anybody here has had a similar problem and solved it?
Is there any files I can flash in recovery or system files I can edit ?
When I try calibrate the phone upside down it won't let me so obviously something is still working
I don't have a warrenty obviously so is be very greatful to the person who helps me solve this issue

Hi, has anyone experienced the screen going nuts?
From time to time this happens. There seems to be an empty spot where it doesnt detect any input. For example, if I'm swyping a word, the line just breaks and I end up with gibberish.
My capacitive back button doesn't seem to work as well. I have to sort of hold it before it registers any input.
The problem started only after i flashed the latest version of CM7.
The problem is not a permanent one cause it comes and goes. This makes using the phone a pain in the ass sometimes.
Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way for me to fix it?
I've reflashed the ROM countless times to no avail.
Please help.
Which version of CM7 are you using?
Did you format system partition before installing?
I'm running on CM7 V7.0.3. I've flashed the previous 2 versions and it was the same. And all those times I formatted everything before i flashed the new rom.
Do you think it's the rom or it's a hardware problem? The digitizer going bad perhaps? I haven't dropped the phone before and the problem is intermittent. but it's such a pain.
can anyone help me out?

Same thing happened to me. Took my phone to an AT&T store and they replaced it since I was still in my 1 year warranty. It was the digitizer doing out in my case. Happened after I tried cm7 too. Even unrooting didnt fix.

I noticed this morning that my G-Sensor isn't working (tried playing one of those labyrinth games and nothing happened)...so I pulled up GPS Essentials to see if they had a built-in level I could test with and I noticed that the compass isn't working either.
So I went to Settings->Display->Calibrate G Sensor, and I get "Calibration Aborted".
Am I alone? I'd appreciate if a couple of you would test yours and post if your systems are working.
TIA

Are you on stock ROM or one of X's ROMs? If you are on one of X's then I'd re-flash the kernel first. If that doesn't work, do a wipe and reflash the ROM. If you are on a stock ROM, do a factory data reset as a last resort. If that doesn't fix it, you probably have a defective phone.
I also have the same problem with my amaze. Does anyone have a solution to this problem please reply
Try deleting (and don't forget to backup the files first), AccPrmsF.* and AK8975Prms.* from /data/misc directory and then rebooting. The files will be regenerated automatically.
Thanks!

Battery pull worked for me. I let it sit for about a half hour. Good Luck
It didn't work, it feels bad as It's a brand new phone

I had the same sensor not working problem after a few weeks. I called TMO and was told there are a few people with the same problem. If you are with TMO, please call the customer care to log a complain. They want more people to report the problem so they can build a case and get HTC to fix it asap.
Initially, when I tried to calibrate the G-Sensor, it would say "aborted". I reset to factory and calibration was successful. BUT the sensors are still not working. Called TMO again and they cannot help and will not swap device until they have an answer from HTC. They are expecting HTC to fix this problem with an update.
I emailed HTC and they told me to pull battery, calibrate G-Sensor and last solution to reset to factory. All failed, call for warranty. They are not aware of any known issue with this problem.
So, TMO will build a case and get this resolved.
Anyone who has this problem fixed please provide your solution. Thanks.
G-Sensor fixed!
After resetting to factory for 2 times and waited for a while, my phone's G-sensor is now working again!
So definitely it is not a hardware issue but software. I am waiting for HTC to send update for permanent fix. TMO is aware of this problem.
Keep reporting to your carrier if you have the same issue.
Hello guys. I have a serious issue with my atrix. My touchscreen stops to work completely random. I've had this problem for a long time but when I restarted the phone, everything was ok for months. Yesterday it stopped completely. I was with the original ROM and put CWM and tried few roms. When I install new rom the touchsreen works perfect for X time. Last night I put jellybean and everything was ok for 2,3 hours. Then it started f*cking up. My phone rings and I can't pick up, turn off the display from the fingerprint button then turn it on again and it works. Later it got worse and now even a restart does not help. Phone works, rings and everything but I can't even unlock it?! I haven't tried changing the kernel yet, because I know nothing how to do that and there is not much how-to on the internet about that. I guess it's not a hardware problem, so maby it's the kernel. I'm quite a noobie in this stuff, but I read alot and I'll apreciate your help. 10x
Which Rom are you using
are you using leaked ICS or CM10/AOKP by epinter or Th3Bill.
before trying kernel i would suggest trying using a different rom, CM10 by epinter works fine for most of the users
Definately the problem was the kernel. I have some success, changed few kernels and the problem showed even trying to install CM10, you know the installation is made by touching stuff. Now i managed to make it work by installing 2.3.6 kernel + GB 2.3.6 and it is working so far. I'll test it for few days to see if it will die again and then try CM10 with the newer kernel. Last night I flashed CM10 and everything was ok for few hours, then the touch started making trouble and eventually stopped working completely. Will post update tommorow to tell if it is ok.
edit: It didn't last 1 hour, died again. Restart doesnt help. Phone works fine, but no touch response. Don't know what to do... different kernels and roms and same problem every time. Waiting for any ideas...
i have the same problem, ive tried a couple of different roms too. does your capacitative touch buttons stop working as well?
Try PDS Fix, else its digitizer
it looks more like a hardware problem, atrix digitizer are quite well known for such failures..
though i think it is not a PDS problem, i would suggest try PDS Fix once, it has helped a few
Get it from here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131649
If this doesn't work i would suggest get a new digitizer off and replace it.
It's sound like a hardware problem definitely. The first thing you should do is to check the ribbon cables and connections. If it does not help you may need to replace the touch digitizer panel.
ropin1 - Yes, the capacitative touch buttons stop working aswell.
I'd have to read more about this PDS fix, because I have no idea what're you talking about.
So you are saying, that I have to change the digitizer only? I saw on ebay, that you can buy the digitizer with the cable on it for about 20$.
edit: I just disassembled the phone and checked all the cables and connections. Everything seems fine to me. Reassembled the phone and the screen still doesn't respond. Maby I just have to get a new digitizer... :/
I got this issue on my s2 that is set up with the latest cyanogen rom
Happened all of a sudden randomly when i tried to take a pic i noticed it like that. Front camera works fine.
I have tried:
Factory reset
Different roms / kernels
hitting it...ye i know it probably doesn't help but everyone tries this!
The reason why i'm posting here is because I was almost 100% certain that it's a hardware issue but there was a kernel I installed that actually let me use the camera for about 1 or 2 minutes before it broke down again and that gave me doubt about the hardware thing so i'm asking you guys maybe someone can help.

(Sorry, new user cant post outside links but i have to show you the picture to understand my problem)
Is it blank screen or is giving you an error message?
If you think it's hardware, flash a stock ROM and see if it's not working as well.
If it is, reflash CM.
Hey,
I have a strange Problem. I am normally a expierienced XMP/mini repaired/flasher and I own 2 full working minis. Both working with custom ROMs without any problems. Because of I didnt like the scratches of camera lid I exchanged the backpiece of my white mini. Since I did that the phone doesnt have network anymore. I exchanged the 2 backpieces I have to see if its a problem of this, since this point BOTH dont have Network anymore...
I tried everything, flashing ROMs, Kernel, Baseband and changing the backpieces/mainbords from left to right but the problem still exist.
No I thought i may broke something, so i bought 2 broken Minis. I repaired and tested them- everything was working great, incl. networks/sim. Now I tested another backpiece and goddamnit, they still all dont have network again, even I set the backpiece back to the unit working before- now its not working anymore.
PS: the weird thing, in Manual network search, all devices finding german "eplus" and "telekom" network but not the "o2-telefonica" I need and use.
Can anyone let me know whats the problem? What can I test? What could I do?
Any Ideas?
