Hey guys, I have a problem here I flashed S5830XWKS9 firmware, I tried using DEODEXED files by Lovetz and flashed A2SD, but it didn't help at all. Moreover, I flashed KS9 again and tried CF-Root by ketut.kumajaya on my firmware, and tried flashing A2SD but that didn't help. Can anyone suggest me a way in which I can use stock KS9 with A2SD?
If you're using cf-root you should use the A2SD provided by Cf-root

I did, when I open A2SDGUI it says that the installed version is older than 2.75.(bla-bla).
BUMP, anyone?
Try this. but cant remember (think it did) if it worked but deff didnt get the error you got:-
Downloaded CF-Root-S5830 3.7 CF-Root adaptation for Gingerbread ( KETUT) from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158197
i used the CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b82.zip (11.95 MB) one
Then Installed DT A2SD + A2SDGUI For partitioned SD-Cards from fl.sh's rom found here in the additions section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211862
Are you fully sure that DID help you, because I am currently on KPD, and if it doesn't work I will have to reflash back to KPD. Which is pure pain.
You can flash a stock custom rom or use S2E its in the market

I was free and took the pain to try that and oh, thanks alot! It worked wonders with no problems!
Just install terminal emulator from market. Then start the app and type
1- su & hit enter (you will be asked for superuser permission. Just say yes)
2- a2sd install & hit enter (wait untill your phone restarts)
3- start the app again and type cache2sd & hit enter (this 3rd command can be wrong but this is what i remember. If its wrong just google for it)

copy apk file to your phone
grab apps installer from the market

Or if you rather, if you have adb:
adb devices {to insure you're seeing phone }
adb install <packagename>.apk {this will install to phone so long as your in usb debugging mode}

if your rooted already, DO THIS.
Search market for OCLF, its caled ryanzky's lag fix or something
you MUST have over 40 percent on battery to apply lagfix, then go see the aviable options (green ones) and click apply ext4 tools or soemthing
then apply the lagfix with binds or something like that.
its the easiest way.
also when you do the lagfix, it WILL take about 4 minutes, because its moving data and all, so yeah.
well i figured out how to install it... problem is that it says i have another lag fix already on my phone (which is voodoo i assume) even though i disabled it and deleted the folder... guess i'll have to do a complete wipe of memory and cached memory... at least i have titanium pro!
Same. Thought I would experiment with it. States I have a lag fix and references a playlogo file.
Guess it's time to Google
All done/fixed.... all I had to do was click on the restore boot animation
rebooted and then flashed the v2+ LF.
Pretty painless and a good (yet pointless quadrant score) if around 1900.
Hi.
I thought I might start an new tread for my repacks

(If Z, T or J has any objections I'll take it down)
Trouble shooting same as with Z's Froyo ROM
If you don't have radio (network) or your home is just restarting after 1st boot, please open ADB shell and issue this command:
Code:
killall servicemanager
No wifi connect: Add static IP address or do in adb:
Code:
setprop net.dns1 192.168.1.1
If you don't have root access, please open ADB shell and issue this command:
chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
P.S I hope I don't step on somebodys toes
I'll try to follow TripNRaVeRs progress..
Excellent idea, is the CPU scaling set to 'on demand' or do I need to use setcpu to preserve my battery (the original from J/Z was not set to on demand)
Thanks

Market fix
1.: Take Root Explorer and Delete everything IN the folder "Data/Data/com.android.vending" & "com.android.vending.updater"
(not the folders.. but ALL the stuff they contain)
2.: Download the Vending.apk from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10259539&postcount=5874 and save it on your SD Card,
then Take the Root Explorer, and replace the "System/app/vending.apk" with the new one, you have downloaded. Then long press the Vending.apk > Permissions and set them for write, execute etc...
Then Restart the Phone.
It worked for me.

Just to confirm: is this step still necessary for v024?
Right now I'm with the 2.1 v006 version from J.
Which is the original ROM thread that is being referred to in here?
Could you suggest me on the Installation Procedures? I have the X10 Custom ROM AOSP 2.1 installed currently using XRecovery. How should I be proceeding after this.
I'm using your custom install with xrecovery and I'm getting 100% market F/C
Even tried the method above. Didn't work for me at all

I planning to move to UL bootloader + Doomkernel + WBV7b6 ROM.
Also With almost few months into WBV7 , the phone is quite sluggish due to apps, So i want to use Link2SD to freeup some space (internal memory) so that the phone is little faster , So will Link2SD be compatible with above said config ?
More over can anyone give a pathway from my current config to above said one.. ie what should i do first ? UL the bootloader first ? or flash the kernel ?
I have downloaded flastool (113MB) and Unlocked Bootloader Doomlord WBV7b6 ROM (85MB) so far , so just waiting for someone to guide me on how to proceed. Also WB said I need to download Doomlords Kernel for unlocked Bootloader , but there are 3 different kernels , which one do you guys think is good ? or stable ?
I downloaded the full overclock version, then with something like SetCPU you can change the frequencies to suit your phone. Mine kept rebooting at the full overlock but was happy at a notch down.
Don't forget to download the wifi module to your phone and flash it from xrecovery.

hi naveen,
first step would be to unlock boot loader. search for "bootloader bypass proper x10" to see how this is done. there is more than one way.
then flash doom kernel and the correct baseband
then install the ROM.

I am on .71 baseband. Should i have to restart after this , or after ULBL ?
Can anyone tell me how in detail , like restarting the phone , etc etc
Unlocked the BL and installed the WB ULBLdoom ROM via Xrecovery and then pulled out the battery and flashed the Doomkernel via flashtool , now the phone starts , but hangs at doomkernel loadpage
What version of doomkernel did you use? use the failsafe version and see if it boots.
Dont know , restarted a few times , then restarted again with FLASHTOOL running , and fortunetly it booted.. blazing fast now , but its all because of more internal ram available .
@cr4zypo3t
How to install link2SD ? does it have any bug or issues ? . Last time the phone came to a crawl due to too much of apps running from internal memory , ie why i want o move them to SD .. please can you help me on that.
open Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, there some applications will have the option to "move to SD card". This is native.
i don't use links2sd. Links2sd can work but there is hot-fix you have to apply. This is mentioned in Wolfbreak's thread (additional downloads or somewhere). Also, i don't think moving applications to SD card will help in the way you have described. You may see improvement if you remove unnecessary system apps though.
does apps 2 sd (market app) will help me ? Also some say that i need to partition something, to use links2sd , is it so , or just use the hotfix given by WB and straightaway use links2sd ?
I want to remove FB , apps and games app , twitter , timescape , infinite viewer from WB ROM , how to do it ?
Thanks a lot for replying cr4zypo3t
I restarted to install links2sd , but again hangs on DL boot screen , also how to enter into xrec or is it replaced with CWM ?
Oh yes. I forgot, you need to partition your SD card to use links2sd. The second partition must be ext2, and you will have to completely format the SD card while partitioning(i.e will lose data on the card). The hot-fix is also required. In my opinion Links2SD can be avoided by moving the app to SD card as I had described earlier.
To remove the apps install ES file explorer(free app) or root explorer(paid app) and in their respective settings mount /system as R/W. You can find the system apps in /system/app/. You can simply delete them. Be sure to make back-up in case something goes wrong. There is a thread on this forum that lists which all apps are safe to remove. Find it using search function.
Other option is using flashtool. It has a 'clean' option that can be used to (reversibly) remove system apps. Once you get to the list of system apps, use ctrl-click to select multiple system apps and press clean. It may get stuck on some apps so pull the phone and don't select that app next time. It will reboot the phone once it has removed all the apps. It stores them on you pc before deleting them, so even if you accidentally remove a required app, you can put back.
To enter xrecovery press the back button when you see blue LED upon booting. You can enter CWM/doom's CWM by pressing vol. up or vol. down keys.
When it is stuck on DL logo, is the LED glowing white? If not just reflash wolfbreaks ROM.

I am glad i could help.
by just moving them you cannot access these apps when the sd card is mounted. since links2sd uses a separate partition, you can use the apps even when sd card is mounted.
yes, the freeze option is simpler
I don't know about either of those things.

It feels like you made something wrong. Do you use link2sd or similar apps? Maybe you "linked" a system app or apps! Try to delete (back up first) one by one the scripts that are inside inti.b to see what script slows down the boot.

Model: GT-i9300
Android Version: 4.1.1
Baseband Version: I9300XXDLIB
Kernal Version: 3.0.31-204919
Build number: v27 - XXDLIB
Network Operator: O2 (uk)
SD Card: 64GB
Formatted: Exfat
Having spent weeks trying to get this to work on my phone I hit gold - 1st installing Omega v27, downloading modexfat version via kitchen v1.01, then running via ROM manager premium v5.0.2.1. So really happy with the increased onboard capacity.
My problem now is that I am unable to keep the mod when installing the updated kernal from Siyah-s3-v1.6.5-CWM. Everything I try results in both phone & card storage showing the same capacity.. (the same problem I had prior to the successful install mentioned above). I really just dont understand what I'm doing wrong here. Sooo frustrating.
Side note: On top of the above frustration, prior to attempting the mod I back up the phone, but then when I try to reinstall my settings / apps etc etc Gobackup does not recognise the backup which was made (sorry if this comment should have been in a seperate post?).
Can anybody give me a noob guide, step by step walk through to solving my problem/s.
Ps.As my 1st post please don't flame me too hard for any breach of forum etticate or for being the total noob which I am in the world of Android..!
Note: Before braving this post I have spent the past 4-5 weeks reading through the various forum posts concerning this subject (not too mention the countless hours trying the various suggested solutions / walk throughs)....
Thanks for your attention.
