Unroot and un-"s-off" for SAT - Legend Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I need to get my legend to the SAT, as the microphone isn't working. My legend is rooted and s-off and I would like to send it to the SAT unrooted and s-on.... I've been following a couple of tutorials and I tried to install a RUU...I get nothing
Could you please tell me what should I do?
Thank you very much

ok...I was able to unroot it, but it stills s-off...Do you know a way of getting it s-on without updating to hboot 1.01 which is imposible to s-off again?

If you flash original htc rom, it should s-on again. Just be shure to flash older rom and not the one with the newset hboot.

ok, i finally got it. This is what I've done:
-With a goldcard, I ran the 1.32 ruu from vodafone. I had the htc sync 2.0 installed in my pc. With this, I got an unrooted legend, but it remained s-off
-I updated via OTA's until the last vodafone version, so now I have a froyo unrooted legend, with a s-on 1.00 hboot.
Tomorrow leaves to the SAT....
Thank you all!

But with hboot 1.00 you cant s-off...

@#$*!! You're right! I thought that the hboot unable to s-off was the 1.01...
Well, It's done....when it gets back from the SAT I'll have to use the overlay walkaround I guess

[Q] Re-rooting Hboot 1.5 after flashing 2.17

I seem to have developed a habit of asking here alot (the evo 3d isnt really my phone i have a Sensation, just doing a favor)
I've re-locked the phone, installed 2.17 (from 2.08) and im wondering if there are other methods of unlocking with Hboot 1.5 S-On (says RELOCKED on recovery) other than having to do the whole HTC Unlock method again?
I wanted to try MeanROM so i pretty much re-locked, upgraded to 2.17 and now i have to reroot just for this ROM (and also got a new radio...)
If not, do i just have to follow the HTC unlock method all over again from Scratch? The process is identical even if i have relocked it?

Stuck at 'sending unlocktoken'

Hello,
Can you please help me?I had my EVO 3D repaired( speaker issue). It was rooted, had a downgraded and unlocked HBoot 1.490.. and s_off and running Leedroid 5.4 GB rom. Before sending it I unrooted , restored to stock, re-locked and got it back on S-on. I then did the OTA ICS update.
The phone has been returned it is now on HBOOT 1.530, locked and S-ON and I am trying to unlock using HTCDEV, however when I flash the unlock_code.bin sent to me by HTC, it gets stuck at ' sending unlocktoken'. I have done everything possible and googled no end but inspite of my efforts it still gets stuck at the same point.
I have restarted my computer many times, started from scratch several times and generated a new device identifier token each time but still no joy. I have even flashed the RUU of the ICS OTA.
Please help me.
Thanks

why would you apply the ota ics update when you could have kept it on hboot 1.5 and did the Juopunutbear S-OFF method, the wire trick literally toke me 5 minutes and now I am s-off with the cusotm Juopunutbear hboot, I love it, going from being hboot 1.5 s-on to s-off makes a world of difference, I love those geniuses who came up with Juopunutbear
I restored everything to stock befoe sending it off to HTC for repairs. I had heard that sometimes HTC refused to repair when they find out unlocked bootloader and S-off.

Have you tried reinstalling the HTC Drivers?
Yes, I have.Still no joy. I guess I may have to wait for revolutionary to get to grips with Hboot 1.53.
Any other suggestions please?

[Q] Stuck at HTC White Screen - PLEASE Help!

I hate to post a new thread on this, but I need help and quick (also, I literally have read through about 20 different threads and have tried numerous solutions)...
CDMA HTC EVO 3d
I originally was on Hboot 1.4, rooted using Revolutionary, updated to ENG Hboot and unlocked bootloader.
1. I flashed a stock ROOTED rom for 1.13.651.7
2. Switched backed to Ship Hboot 1.40 ( I saw that was required before relocking bootloader) [Something went wrong here I guess; although it appeared to work but got stuck at HTC white screen afterwards]
3. Ran RUU for 1.13.651.7 for Hboot 1.40 - appeared to work but still stuck
4. Relocked bootloader: Read somewhere I had to relock bootloader to run RUU properly
5. Ran RUU for 1.13.651.7 for Hboot 1.40 again - again it went through the whole process and said success but still stuck on htc white screen after reboot
6. Flashed thru bootloader 2.17.xxx.5 Hboot 1.5: Felt like I was out of options and saw a post to update to 2.17.xxx.5 Hboot 1.5
7. After doing #6, I ran the RUU for 2.17.xxx.5 Hboot 1.5 - ran successfully and after reboot still stuck at htc white screen then bootloops
Here is what phone currently shows:
***LOCKED***
SHOOTER XC SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.50.0000
RADIO-1.06.00.1216
eMMC-boot

I need to turn this phone back in to work - I am at a loss - any help is appreciated! To top it off, my battery won't charge and I have to keep asking a friend at work with same phone to switch batteries and charge it for me.
Maybe try running the latest ICS ruu exe.
Read, Search, Read again, ... Then Ask with Tapatalk 2
Since it doesn't say RElocked on the bootloader is there anyway to tell that I messed with it?
I don't think so. I would try running the latest ICS ruu exe just to see if it fixes things. If not, just play dumb when you turn it in.
Read, Search, Read again, ... Then Ask with Tapatalk 2
I guess I can give it a go...is this the latest:
RUU_Shooter_ICS_35_S_Sprint_WWE_2.89.651.2_Radio_1.09.00.0706__NV_NV_SPCS_1.43_release_271101_signed.exe
Yes. Connect your phone to your computer and boot into bootloader. It should say fastboot USB. Run the ruu and hopefully you'll be set.
Read, Search, Read again, ... Then Ask with Tapatalk 2
Run over it with your car and tell them it fell off your lap while getting gas.....
sudo passwd root
Odd...newest RUU won't run - it says USB connection error, although I have ran the older RUU's without issue. I am going to run the one prior to ICS again and if it doesn't work turning it in as is. I will just say did factory reset and after that it no longer will boot... Thx for your help
No luck - I'm done...very surprised the RUU's even after successfully updating and running didn't resolve the issue - I have never seen something like this before. Oh well, hopefully it doesn't happen to anyone else. I switched to the S3 so I won't be visiting the Evo 3d forums anymore.

[Q] Stuck in bootloop...

Hi,
i unlocked my Evo 3d the HTCdev.com way, al working fine and in tried to flash a new rom through CWM recovery (LeeDrOiD_3D_V5.3.0)
Now my unit is staying in a bootloop, the white HTC screens pops up for a few seconds and boots throught to the LeeDrOid bootscreen, you hear the sound for a second and it reboots again.
I Already tried to flash the boot.img extracted from the LeeDrOid manually, but it stays the same.
Did i overlooked something? Did i brick my unit? I dont know...
The following numbers pop up when i boot in the bootloader:
***Unlocked****
SHOOTER-U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.53.0007
eMMC-boot
Radio: 11.25.3504.06
What to do? Or do i have a fancy paperweight now?
I think its because you are trying to flash a gingerbread rom. AFAIK its not possible to boot GB on 1.53 hboot. I would suggest trying an ICS rom
So i installed Yoda's ICS v5.1 and now the unit only boots till the white HTC screen and reboots on and on...
maybe if you list the things you tried i could help you more.
factory reset and wipe cache+delvik cache before installing rom?
manually flashed boot.img?
i would suggest getting s-off to save yourself all the hassle
How do i install S-OFF when i cannot fully boot the unit?
Yes, i tried to install Boot.img manually through ABD, but issue still persists.
S-off isnt something to install. I'd recommend you run an RUU and get beck to stock. After that look in the gsm development section you will find a thread for s-offing your phone. It involves the wire trick.

Which RUU should i download, which one do you recommend? And i can do this while connected with Fastboot, isnt it?

I had the very same issue, see my post here for some help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1897719
I think your hboot is the key; if your unlocked through HTC while on a GB rom then you are limited to GB roms, if you want ICS, you need to re lock, ruu the stock ICS rom, then unlock, then install the custom ICS rom.
I'm no expert but that seemed to fix my issue, i did take the extra step and get S-off, so i truly get full control of my phone.
His hboot is 1.53 which means he did update to ics. Relocking his bootloader and running an RUU should get him to boot into stock rom. Then maybe he can s-off.
There are so many people with 1.53 hboot having problems with every single rom. I didnt take the ota for this exact reason. Revolutionary hboot hasnt given me trouble with any rom.

I just checked the unlimited.io (JBear) website and their modified bootloader for the Evo 3D GSM on ICS is 1.53.5353 so it seems like they support the wire trick with the ICS update, but I agree that it would be better to start by flashing the ICS RUU.exe then HTC unlock and root before doing JuopunutBear.

Phone boot loops
guys please i need your help.
my phone always restarts after booting. its HTC EVO 3D GSM WITH HBOOT 1.53.0007

RUU not working AT&T

I have to ship my hox+ back soon and for some reason the ruu doesn't work I get bootloader version error. This is the ruu that I have been using RUU_EVITARE_UL_JB_45_Cingular_US_1.15.502.9_Radio_1.09.55.17_18.20.95.55L_release_290329_signed.exe. Any help would be much appreciated I need to get this thing back to stock.
Has your phone already booted into hboot when you get that error? I had a similar error (maybe the same one) when I was flashing the 1.15 stock 2 weeks ago because the phone didn't boot into hboot on its own. I put the phone into hboot after relocking the bootloader. Then ran the RUU and it worked perfectly.
are you on Hboot 1.40? If so, you'll probably want to use the 1.19 RUU.
Where is the 1.19? I've only found the one I'm using.
EDIT:I am running HBOOT 1.40 I will try running the ruu again and see if it works this time.
Found it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2238839

You can also get the 1.19 RUU from HTC's website.
