Guys, I don't see this one posted anywhere so I'm throwing it out there if anyone could help.
I have certain contacts I want them to ring when the phone is in silent mode. I've tried out apps like Llama, Auto Ring, Phoneweaver, Profile Scheduler etc...all have some sort of VIP contacts feature enabled, some even have the ability to force ringtone using the app if the phone doesn't support ringtone in silent mode. But I can't get them to work on S2, I checked "force app to play ringtone" option where available but only Auto Ring was able to squeeze out 1 ring before it got silenced, Llama and others simply refuse to ring at all.
I've been doing some search online and found a few people having same problem with their S2, but others seem to do just fine.
I prefer to use Llama due to its host of functions in a lean package and small battery footprint, but I can't use it if this important feature does not work. See my phone specs (including apps installed) below, appreciate your thoughts on this.

If this is for emergency calls during a time when you're at work or something, I would just put your ringtone to Silent and same with your notifications, while only those select Contacts have a specific ringtone.
Also some other apps that come to mind that you might want to try:
Selective Silence
Silent Timer Lite <-May not work

I use Tasker. A bit pricey, bit it will automate anything on your phone. The feature you mention is available as a walkthrough here:

I modified it slightly, but I'm using it right now so "favorite" contacts always ring regardless of silent mode.

I have gosms and the stock calendar app talking to me even when in vibrate mode
This is really crappy in meetings. How do I turn this off?
I've looked everywhere in settings for gosms and calendar apps as well as settings in general.
Go to driving mode and turn it off. Its in settings, then voice, then text to speech.

On Gingerbread there used to be a Google Voice Inbox 3x1 widget. On Jelly Bean there's a 2x2 widget that shows the account balance at the bottom and also an option to toggle GV calling on/off. It would be fine except for that silly option to toggle GV on/off which is very error prone, I can tap it by accident and not realize I turned GV calling off.
So any way to get the old style GV Inbox widget on Jelly Bean? Or any alternative widgets that work well with GV?
Any ideas?
I am an attorney and always need to completely silence my VZW note 2. It is rooted and running "Jelly beans 22 rom". In settings under Accessibility there is a check mark to "turn off all sounds" this works perfectly. I have tried to find an apk or way to either add this to the home screen or better still add it as a toggle. The standard sound toggle does not completely silence the phone. In settings under sound the does not silence the music etc. Thanks

I'm wondering how to get a shortcut for the default Google assistant on a tablet being used in my dad's car.
We are currently using this car launcher, which has the assistant icon on the homescreen. See here:

I'm trying to re program a button on his steering wheel to have the tablet open that assistant app & wait for a voice command but that shortcut doesn't show up in his list of apps.
Maybe there is another app I can use? What app instantly pauses the music & waits for a voice command?
