This seems to be a bit of a drawback with Android apps - they don't work aswell as ipad apps. There seems to be a lot of trial and error, whereas from what I've heard and seen (on my iphone), the Apple apps just work.
I still can't get past the lack of Flash on the ipad though, so I'll have to forgive Android's shortcomings...
I got the same problem a week ago.
then i updated my android version from 3.2 to 3.2.1 and the Facebook App stopped to work at all.
it only opens, but no info shows up.
I'm using tweetdeck right now

100% of the time same problem here. I don't think wasting your time with a factory reset will do anything...

I updated the app a couple nights ago and now it wont open and load anything, it hangs and then force closes everytime. I've uninstallled and reinstalled and it will allow me to login and it will work fine right up until I close the app and reopen it.
Any thoughts?
Had the same problem. I ended up reverting to the previous version with a backup.
Crashes for me too. I also went to a backup. Not sure what is that last version to work. My backup was from a month ago.
Mine too on CM7 Nightly 177 booting off an SD card. Hopefully they can get it fixed.
Have you fixed permissions? It runs fine for me,not a fan of it but it works.

Seems like the app is crashing when it tries to find your location using the (non-existant) GPS. Is there some way to inject a fake GPS position?
Install tetherGPS lite and start the client, it spoofs the app into thinking there is a GPS signal. Recent check ins load fine with this fix.

Friend caster is more tab optimized than the normal app but still not a real tab app.

Why would you post this?
As of nightly 212, there is no built-in ability to fake GPS. This was never any mention of that ability on any changelog, and it certainly wasn't sneaked in or anything.
Facebook still attempts to access GPS and force-closes as of nightly 212 / October 6th (I'm guessing it is an incorrect or simply unhandled exception. Facebook for both Android and iOS are famous for having terrible programmers).
A fake GPS program is still required to use Facebook.
The Facebook app goes from bad to worse. Uninstalled.
Is there any other fix that doesn't require me to start the gps client every time before wanting to use facebook? What is the latest version of facebook I can get that will function fine without a silly work around? 1.6.?
I didn't see a thread on this but last night I noticed I was able to download the Facebook app to my 10.1 and it works fine, albeit it looks simply like a very stretched version of the phone application. It does work, though, and fairly well at that.
yup. Works fine!
I installed it and it worked for a bit but now its useless
It's still garbage... I've sideloaded a few older versions plus the latest version from the market and its still just basic at best.
Still haven't fixed the FC everytime you try to go to your friends list.

Yeah, but typing replies is a pain in the butt. We need MyPad ported from the iOS
Friendcaster works better now since they got rid of the Tab beta version but they've basically reverted to an over-sized phone UI instead of the immensely superior split-screen set-up the beta had.
I'm hoping the next update to the proper version will re-introduce the better Tab-oriented UI.

If you don't mind me asking, what version are you running?
I've got 3.20.2 and even with the 'enlarged UI mode' checked in the settings, it just makes it look like the phone version but bigger.

Agreed. I have the newest friendcaster app direct from the market (not the tab beta version) and it auto detected mine was a tab on install and installed the tab version. It looks like my version is 3.20.2
Uploaded to dropbox for you although you should be able to get from market.

The only thing bugging me about the new Friendcaster is the ad at the bottom. Actually, there is never an ad there, it just says "Click here to disable ads for thirty days!" It takes me to a broken link. I would love to share Fridnscaster to get rid of this ad, but I guess we have to live with it for now.
(That link worked in the Tab beta version.)

Ok, so, play store updated itself to 3.5.x and now gmail has went nuts.
Looks like it is constantly trying to open more instances of itself. Screen is going crazy and I cant select anything, I have to kill the app with back button.
Anyone know why? Or better yet anyone have an old version I can try?

i think its not about google play store, because im using the same vending.apk in minicm7, gmail dont have any problem..now im using cm9, and flashed gapps-20120304, and gmail having those problems. if jimcantfixit flashed the same gapps, then surely we know that, gmail inside the gapps got problem..
PS: im not flamming or blame someone, just my curiousity, i hope no one mistaken it, if im wrong, pls correct me
Thanks guys but im on MiniCM7 2.1.8 with nAa kernel 11. This started happening when I noticed my update was coming through (just today).
Tried uninstall, reinstall. Tried clear cache/data in app. Nothing working. Looking for an old gmail apk on google.
Hopefully I will overcome this absolute madness. Its actually quite funny watching gmail go into overdrive, kinda what I expect people were thinking would happen with y2k bug.

Pretty disappointed about this gmail error. Maybe 6000+ unread messages sent it into overdrive?

Alright, so I'm having this problem since a few months on both of my devices (Nexus 7 and Galaxy S3). For some reason, chrome keeps on remembering entrys of my history. It doesnt matter how many times I clear the browsing data, even clearing the app data doesnt work.
Web history and predictive search are both turned off.
Is there anyone that had a similiar problem and/or knows a solution? I attached a screenshot as example.

I've done that (as stated in the op) but even this has no effect. It might work for a couple of hours, but after that, entrys that were there before clearing the data, return.

A question out of ordinary using the same methods as a regular PC... have you tried uninstalling Chrome and installing again from the Play Store?
i would recommend re-installing from the play store as well.
I have tried that, no luck though. I'll try and report it as a bug to Google, might get a response from them aswell.
