I don't see how.
You need to uninstall Swype first...don't see how you can do that unrooted.
Why not root?.... it's your phone, use it how you want, not how some corporate DB wants you to use it!
Ask this in the q&a section.

How come the STOCK messaging app doesn't come with the signature option. I know about third-party apps that have this feature, but I rather have the default messaging app to have this feature. Any way to get this option? The droid has this option in their stock messaging app. Why don't other android phones?
Well I assume since the droid is motorola, the mms.apk is one designed by them. I'm currently running nero v5 which has the google stock mms.apk, not samsungs. And this doesn't seem to have a signiture option either. I would ask samsung, or ask your question in the q&a section where someone may be more willing to answer.

Is there any way I can permanently link my facebook contacts with my gmail contacts? Everytime i change to a different rom i have to link them! Right now im on the stock Sprint Hero rom unrooted... thanks in advance!

yea that worked, but it wont show the picture on facebook, just the info they put on there.... what i need is something that will link the actual facebook contact with the one stored on my phone.... permanently! cuz everytime something happens with my contacts (new rom, hard reset, etc etc) i have to link them!
I get the same problem when I freeze the Fbook app when it never stops running. you'd think contact storage would be left untouched
It's a good idea..I will try to make an app for this..This would be pretty useful for all of us..

sorry bout that....
i was able to install certain apps from the market without any problems. but when i uninstall them and decided to install them back, i'm unable to. i get message in market that says that the app isnt compatible with my device... i dont get it! how can i fix this?
Hey I had the same.issue now what Rom are u using? In the rcmix3d runnyv3.3 page 565 starting just go through them me and a few others had a whole convo about this hope this gets u started

sorry it was late when I post this but the runny v3.3 rcmix3d is in the desire hd thread. But yeah it could be in the build prop settings but be careful with the change but im sure it has something to do with the I D of the phone in your file explorer in the sys folder you will see the buil.prop once your their you will see all the way to the bottom stuff like ro.model.= as example. I also have inspire 4g and i had this issue but when Capychimp updated his rom it was fix

hi negrobembon.. i didnt change anything in the build file. but i did install 'font changer'. and this does change the dpi. but, i changed the dpi back to normal and i still get the same issue.

I was getting same problem and it was getting annoying. I fixed it by logging into the android market on the web and tried to install an app that said not compatible. Hope that helps.

Also your market problem is very weird, try to restore and old backup from before u deleted the apps

orb i appreciate your work on xda.. but keep in mind that i put my question in the forum that i thought best. there are many forums here and many times ppl dont know where exactly to put their question or issue. honestly, i dont know the difference between q&a and general forum. to me theyre so similar that theyre the same. i thought i posted my question in the forum that i thought best. you cant ban or punish someone for posting a question in the forum that they thought was a good fit . its not theyre fault.

lauchers are not at all made for specific phone.. so whichever you find is specified as launcher install it from market and use it... nothing special to research on it.. and if you want someone to recommend it for you then google might recommend you something
