How come the STOCK messaging app doesn't come with the signature option. I know about third-party apps that have this feature, but I rather have the default messaging app to have this feature. Any way to get this option? The droid has this option in their stock messaging app. Why don't other android phones?
Well I assume since the droid is motorola, the mms.apk is one designed by them. I'm currently running nero v5 which has the google stock mms.apk, not samsungs. And this doesn't seem to have a signiture option either. I would ask samsung, or ask your question in the q&a section where someone may be more willing to answer.

I know it's not really important, but I've always wondered why. I've had my picture attached to my account since I created it and I've never been able to see it on the XDA app. And yes, I know it's attached to my account because I can see it on the desktop site. Lol. Thanks in advance for offering whatever information you're able to give.

I also realize this probly should have gone in the general q and a section of XDA. Any help would still be appreciated. Mods feel free to move if able.

First, let me say by no means should I be trying any of this, because I don't really know much about how to modify software on Android devices. I've seen the .apk from AOSP taken and used on the Thunderbolt to replace the stock HTC text messaging app. Is there any way possible to take the .apk from some Motorola version of Android to swap in the Motorola text messaging app? That was by far the best looking messaging app in my opinion. I've tried simple .apk swaps and that doesn't do it. I'm just trying to figure out if its even possible or is it to entangled in the Blur b/s for me to even ask for help?

Not unless you have the software for it. Called backsmali or somethin like that. You could try posting on a dev page and ask for it

I don't see how.
You need to uninstall Swype first...don't see how you can do that unrooted.
Why not root?.... it's your phone, use it how you want, not how some corporate DB wants you to use it!
Ask this in the q&a section.
Is anyone capable of following directions?
Seriously, read the sticky threads before posting!
I'm unable to find the lab feature on the stock ics browser, is it even there?
Push menu and windows.

Oh darn, I thought I posted this in the q& a section. Sorry about that, however it isn't in there either. When I choose windows it allows me to make another browser windows or a incognito but no menu options. At least not on my phone.
Mod, please move to the q&a section.

I'm on stock and for the life of me I cannot find it. I'll check the version and report back.
OK,its 4.0.2213293260.347426. That is odd it newer than yours and it doesn't have it...
Bump
I'm coming from the Galaxy Nexus where I enjoyed the native SIP application and the ability to make calls over WiFi, but now it seems that the carrier death grip on Samsung has forced them to remove the native feature from the phone. I found this thread on how to restore SIP functionality on the SGS2, but it's for 2.3.3+:
I'm guessing it doesn't work on 4.x Android, so I'm curious if anyone is familiar with a method to restore this stock android feature? I did find a "sip switch" app which lets you access the hidden SIP options, but unfortunately, upon making a call it says "Internet calls not supported".

To clarify, I'm not looking for applications which provide this, I do want to use the native android implementation.
Thanks!
I noticed this as well. I don't have an answer to your question, but I'd be interested in a solution too.

We might be out of luck until a ROM comes along with stock Android, if someone is kind enough to port it over.
